First off, most of the PT places around here require a doctor prescription, even on PPO, like I have. This was the first place that didn't require it. I completed my initial diagnosis with Dr. Del Gallo and first PT appt; so far, so good. Dr. Manjarris is a really nice guy that seems to know his stuff. He took the time to answer my questions and really explain things. My PTist knows her stuff too. She has fibromayalgia and really uses her empathy when caring for her patients. I'm hopeful that she'll be able to get me back to working out and feeling good again soon! Updates to come...

I noticed she had no trouble working with the men on exercises out of the pool but for some reason she felt she knew more than my doctor on what I needed. I quit them and am going to start at Klare's. I think I will at least get what the doctor ordered there.

I was referred to dr. Gabriel Lopez for a sacroiliac injection, and I got my injection yesterday. It's only been one day so I don't want to get too excited yet but I'm already feeling like the area that was bothering me is feeling different, as in better. I am originally from the west coast and am here in Texas for work. So I have no family around close by and to be hurt and far from home is no fun. I've now been here 3 times and I have never waited less than an hour and a half AFTER my appointment was scheduled to be called back. I'm currently writing this in their waiting room, which I've been sitting in for two hours. It's 12:00. My appointment was at 10:15. There are two other women here waiting as well and they're both in what appears to be a dead sleep. Just, do yourself a favor and bring a book or even a pillow so you can take a nap. Probably would also be good to not have anything scheduled the rest of the day. God only knows how long you'll be waiting.

The front office staff at STB&J were unhelpful and made it unnecessarily difficult to secure timely follow-up care. For a situation involving a hand injury that had already required ER attention, that lack of responsiveness is unacceptable. Because of this, my overall rating for the practice drops to two stars. Strong physicians are only part of the equation--access to care when it matters is just as critical, and in this case, the practice fell short.

I show up at 10:50 am for her to tell me she put me under the wrong name and I would have to come back at 3:00pm. What happens to the 11:15 spot? I'm in pain and she had no empathy what so ever. The other receptionist even found me in the system and Mallory swore I was a new patient even though I was there in December. Hire a new receptionist because I will no longer go there if she is there. I will not allow her to touch me. I will drive in pain to Calallen for care where they can see me sooner than 3:00pm as a new patient. They understand when someone is in dire need of assistance.
