HUGE RIP OFF !!!! Initially misrepresented billing and when I told him about it, Matthew M La, he threatened to "dump all my stuff out of the truck" and continued to scream at me until I had to hang up. Once we got past that, he provided a total for the move up to and including delivery. Tricked me into sending two e-transfer because of a delay with the original payment. Then Matthew padded the bill, of which I had proof, and only reimbursed part of the double payment. Then proceeded to argue with me and make excuses when I asked for the balance of my money. I used these movers yesterday. They were recommended to me from my sister in law who used them years ago and raved about them. They showed up 30 mins late (no big deal because they start charging us from they time they arrive) and they showed up high as a kite and their whole truck reeked like weed. Once again if they don't scratch my floors or ruin my walls then I don't care. We discussed with Francis that we were moving furniture from 3 different locations and he said it wont be an extra charge it will just be $95/hour. So when the movers got there, I mentioned the 3 locations and right away they said it will be extra money. I said no we spoke to Francis and he said it wont be, so I told them I will phone Francis. They said do not phone or you will be charged, we will do it for you but leave us a bigger tip. I am shocked that right off the bat they are talking about tips when they haven't even done anything yet. And so against what they said I phoned Francis and he explained it will not be extra money. So were these movers trying to make it seem like they were doing us a "favour" to get a bigger tip from us?? From there, they began to load two small things into the elevator at a time and would proceed to take 20 minutes to return back upstairs when I know for a fact that they could pack more furniture into the elevator before they go down. When I say they moved slow, that is being nice. They moved like turtles! I googled how long it would take to get to the first location and it said 19 minutes. So I figured since they were in a truck I will give them 35 minutes. They took about 45 minutes. Each location they went to they doubled the amount of time it should have taken. We coordinated with Francis that we need a stove moved from the basement to the garage, and of course they complained about that. When it came time to pay they worked for 6 hours and 15 minutes and they wanted to charge us for 6 hours and 30 minutes since it is in 30 minute increments and we mentioned that it took them a long time to drive to the location and we should only have to pay for 6 hours and the guy rudely said "If your not going to tip us just pay us the amount you owe and we will leave." So we paid for them the money and they slammed the door on the way out. We also phoned Francis halfway through the move explaining what was going on, and he 100% backed his employees and was completely rude to me. I will never use this company again. I am warning all of you to find different movers even if its costs a little extra. read more

I had hired Francis movers on May 25, 2017 Mississauga On to MILTON. As the moving truck arrived there was another smaller vehicle following along with it. Right at the beginning, I noticed that the movers went out to the smaller vehicle and smoked up on at least 3 different occasions. They were clearly impaired, giggling like children, I watched them try to put on a mattress cover for about 15 minutes that I insisted they use, something that otherwise would have taken a few minutes. They also mostly ignored my requests to use plastic covers and protectors that I was supplying them. As the move progressed, I felt so unhappy with their service I attempted in vain to find another mover last minute. I had no option but to continue with the moving company. I finally told the driver Danny, who was the only sober one, that if I saw them smoke up again, I would cancel the move. One of the movers kept asking me the value of my furniture and other items, how much I had paid for them, and was asking me inappropriate questions about my ex, if he was abusive (?), and would I invite the mover to the house warming party. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. I was also trying to finish up some last minute packing, so I was not looking at them constantly. On the way from the Mississauga house to the Milton house they disappeared for four hours. They claim traffic, curiously enough, I took the same route they did, even drew a map for the driver and he told me he knew exactly where it was. I even told him if he got lost to call me. I was paying them by the hour. They finished the move-in at midnight, I paid with visa. The following morning I noticed scratches and dents on the fridge (Liebherr) and the drawer and shelf inside was broken, I also noticed all my dining room chairs and side tables were nicked and dented. My plasma has a dented corner, remote is missing for the entertainment systme. I noticed the frames of two mirrors chipped and broken, my green couch was ripped in two spots, and it looked like they had dragged the back across the truck floor, my white couch was ripped, and the pillows muddied (they had flipped the pillows thinking I wouldn't notice the damage), my upholstered king bed from ELTE muddied. The two Hastens twin beds in my guest bedroom muddied and smelly with a stain (did someone urinate on them?), the carpet leading up to the second floor muddied, my Indian silk carpets stained the fringe ripped off (again they hadn't put on the cover I requested) the patio furniture had rips in the "wicker" and pillows muddied and damaged. My two wonderful side tables dented and scratched. Corners of paintings dented/damaged. Over the next couple of weeks I also started discovering things missing, the day the alarm company was supposed to reinstall my alarm and camera system from the old house, the alarm system plus cameras I had purchased and a wireless transmitter I was renting for the alarm system, was completely gone, and I had to get my installer to get me a new one at full price. An industrial nut and bolt weighing 30 kgs went missing. My gas tank for the bbq, which I saw in the moving truck, never made it off the truck. One of the movers (i think Mike) asked to take a patio gas heater that I was throwing out, I think he took it. Still I am discovering things. I called and emailed the owner, Francis, of the moving company, he came out to inspect the damage said my furniture was "low" quality and that's why everything was damaged and then offered me $500 out of his pocket (or so he said), I declined. On their website they state they are insured and bonded. He even admitted that the movers had smoked up, but claimed they only did so once(!). He also claimed the movers were stuck in traffic for four hours.(lol) I am still discovering things that are missing and damaged. The cosmetic repair of my "low" quality fridge alone will be approx $5000. Do yourself a favour and stay away from Francis movers. read more

I have used Francis Movers for at least 20 years, for myself & always refer them to my friends. They are the only movers I trust. Never had a problem with them, ever !! Maybe the one bad review was because of a new moving guy, that most probably would've been fired afterwards for sure. If it actually happened at all. Who knows? The owner is a great guy, & now his son is actually moving furniture himself, as well as working in the office. I used them when my Grandpa passed a year or so ago. I got a quote from the owner over the phone, and when I called back the next day to confirm the date of the move, he had no recollection of our discussion and tried to charge me a higher price. (For the record, he was trying to charge me almost $400 for moving just a mattress and some boxes). When I pointed out that we already made an agreement, he told me to go find a Chinatown moving company instead. Talked to the owner Francis several times. One time when I called him, he told me that he found the boxes & also a red luggage that Mike returned to him. I asked him why he didn't call me & let me know. He gave me the excuse that he didn't have my phone no. Really? He has my info on file for the moving! Anyway, Francis tried to explain to me how that happened was that they put those boxes inside the wardrobes & cover them with the blanket during the unloading process; which already told me how they stole people's stuff. It's impossible to overlook & miss all these boxes when unloading. It doesn't make sense to me! When he brought those boxes to me, they were not mine. The stuff belong to other people who they just did the moving. It just happened that I have been chasing after them my lost items, so Mike returned them. My moving happened on Oct 28, 2014. I believe they already opened the boxes & took the stuff. That's why they can't return the boxes. The owner is also unwilling to compensate the lost & I trust he knows what's going on, but he's covering for his staff. He keeps telling me that there should be no boxes left in the truck, otherwise they would return the boxes to him. If so, where are my boxes? I even sent Francis an email with the pictures of what my boxes & some of the lost items look like. I told him that I'm even willing to pay to get the stuff back. He hasn't responded back so far. When I called him to check if he receives my email, he keeps telling me he's on the road & not convenient to talk. If a person is responsible, shouldn't he call back the client for any issues? Another thing is they didn't give you an invoice, or acknowledgement of the moving , so you can't chase after them when you have lost any items. I thought Francis movers is a trustworthy moving company with good reputation but I was totally wrong! The most important reputation in the moving industry is reliable, honest, trustworthy & responsible. I think Francis movers has lost all of them! A lot of people may not realize that they have lost some stuff during the move, but I do even though I have 88 boxes (which they think I don't), they wouldn't take your furniture & special items cause it's too obvious, but they take the boxes which are the easiest things that you would miss & overlook. Sneaky, right? I realize that they like to take the boxes which you mark kitchen & bedroom on it because these are the stuff which are useful to them. What a group of greedy & dishonest people! I had francis movers move me last week. They charged a reasonable price and the men were quick and efficient.

We accepted an offer to buy our house and we had a 15-day closing. In the end of December. Despite the holidays coming, Francis had one day where three men could pack the rest of my belongings and move my boxes into a POD and they did it very efficiently. China and glassware were very carefully packed with paper and bubble wrap. I asked for ratchet straps and rope to be used to stabilize each of the 4 sections of the POD and they did it very well. They brought extra moving blankets and shrink-wrapped all of the furniture. Even took apart my solid maple dining table so it would fit better and be safely stored. They used their time very well and didn't even take much time for a quick snack. My 16' POD was packed and locked up in exactly 4 hours. I'm very pleased with the process. They quickly called in my credit card and it was paid on the spot. I emailed Matthew at their office the following week, asking for an invoice and it was emailed to me (my preference) within 48 hours. I would recommend Francis Movers - in fact, I'm asking for Danny's team when my POD is moved to my new home. read more
