I have used Jia Jia many times over the years. May be I never paid enough attention on the bill but everytime, I tipped the movers, who are efficient and work hard while doing a pretty good job respecting our things (try the best to not scratch the walls, putting down things as gently as possible, etc). The movers are still doing a great job this time...and I noticed the bill had a tip of 10%, which came up to about $90 for my move. I asked the lead whether they got the tip, to my surprise, he said "no"...so I tipped them...and inquire about the tipping policy...another surprise...the company responded...the tip goes to movers and office staff?????? A mandatory tip going to office staff!?!?!? My thinking is, do these mandatory tips goes toward the hourly rate for the movers? Hope not, but it is for sure something I would be very wary of... read more

From the first moment I placed a call (Teresa was super friendly, thorough and reassuring) to her confirmation the day before my move (she calmed my nerves and assured nothing was amiss) to the 4 friendly crew of movers with Jonson as lead... we had 3 floors of boxes and furniture carefully and efficiently moved into their truck and our garage, and things into the new place under 4 hours! They worked quickly with zero time wasted, and also took 2 pieces of furniture to my parents place in good time! Used them 3 times for house moves within 10 yrs and each time they delivered on service and value. The 2 men they sent are super efficient and professional, no surprise fees on top of quoted price and they took care to ensure furniture was not damaged. I am impressed with how hard they work and how efficiently the moves all went. 6 hrs to move an entire 2500 sq ft house from Markham to Toronto. The skills they have in loading the truck, like watching them play tetris. Addictive and the OCD in me approves. Had quotes from others and used others before too, but hands down they are best for value and efficiency. Best thing too, no damages. Antique silverware was stollen. We hired this company to pack one day and move us the next. We notIced the day after moving that our expensive antique silverware was stollen. We complained to the company and nothing has been resolved. We were suspicious when the packer showed up with a backpack and advised the company about it, we are not satisfied with their response. Beware of this company. (We had used them for 6 years for at least 6 moves between our family). Attached are photos of the boxes which each had 12 pieces of cutlery. The packer removed between 3-5 pieces from each box. My wife saw him put something in his backpack but she was not sure at that hectic moment of packing. The first time that Jia Jia moved me, it was amazing! Everything done super quick and efficiently, which brought me back a second time when I needed movers! They were still quick and efficient, however my couch was not put together properly and it is missing a bolt now. Super disappointed. read more

The two movers that came to our house were seriously expert packers. Now I did get a little nervous when I saw one of the guys because he was very skinny and was a lot smaller than me in stature. However he proved me wrong and was pretty strong and all our heavy cabinets were carried off with ease. We had ordered a 16 foot self storage container from PODS. However we knew we needed professional movers to move all our furniture from the house into the container. We hired Jia Jia on a recommendation and I'm glad we did. They were professional, courteous, and quick. They were not sloppy quick, but instead they utilized every square inch of that POD. Going into the move I figured we could only fit about 70% of our stuff into the one POD. These two guys were able to securely move 97% of our stuff into it. I'm not joking when I say we had a lot of stuff...a lot of big bulky furniture and a safe. Anyhow, they were very good and took them 2 and a half hours to do it. It probably would have been a lot faster if they only had to put them in flat and into a 24 foot truck. However we had a 16 footer container only and I was impressed. Note: we only hired them to pack everything into the container. They didn't have to move the container as we got PODS to do it. We wrapped up all our own furniture and boxes. They charge by the hour, flat rate travel time and a flat fee of $10 per floor. I would definitely hire them again for packing. read more

I'm a return customer. I wouldn't suggest this company anymore. They move SUPER slow. Took them 6hrs to move a soft 3 bed and some small stuff. They don't have covers for my stuff and they kept asking us to carry this and that ourselves. What's more unacceptable was we had to help them move the stuff. Our furniture was handled with much care, nothing was scratched or damaged, the 3 guys that arrived were very gracious and friendly and moved us from the Junction area to Long Branch, Etobicoke in just 2.5 hours, very impressive work, as usual. I know there are many other movers out there but these guys are head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to very reasonable price, quality of their work and superb customer service. We have used Jia Jia movers many times to move ourselves as well as family members. We first learned about them 10 years ago when referred to us by several friends. I'm not kidding when I say they work their asses off!!! They are careful, quick and efficient. At first, my husband didn't want to use them because he had been screwed by movers before who were super slow to get as many hours out of you. Not these guys. The last time we used them was 2 weeks ago to move from a 2bdrm bungalow to a 4bdrm two story. We also have a piano. These guys did it in 4 hours. If we did it ourselves with friends, it would have taken us into the night. Total cost was $700 including tax and tip. I remember years ago when shopping around for movers for my 1 bdrm apartment, being quoted $1000 and up. Then the first time I used Jia Jia to move out of a 1 bdrm, it only cost me $200. That was 10 years ago. Now, their rates have gone up significantly since then but still worth it and I will only call and recommend them. I noticed one negative review in here - they're probably from the competition trying to smear Jia Jia's name. I believe Jia Jia is the only Chinese moving company on the Canadian movers association or something like that which is a huge accomplishment cuz Chinese businesses are typically known to be shady. These guys are amazing. Detailed email before the job and no surprises at the move. And they have never been late for any of our jobs. Lastly, it was freezing cold when we moved two weeks ago. I mean, freeeezing. But they still hustled without complaints. We offered to buy them lunch and at first they said no thank you. We kept insisting so finally they said yes but seriously ordered the smallest thing. We said they could order more but they didn't. They worked non stop from 9am to 1pm so there's no way they weren't starving. But I guess they didn't want to seem greedy so they only let us get them something small. Really great company. I have hired Jia Jia movers twice in the last 7 months and they are without a doubt the best moving company I have ever had, and will likely ever have. They helped me this past weekend in the beating humidity and heat and they never skipped a beat. They were moving me out of a storage unit that I had to sort through, and they kept the line running at such a steady pace that it didn't even make a difference that I was sorting through boxes the entire time.
