I used Ninja Movers back in 2019 for a move and had a great experience, so when it was time to move…read moreagain, this time from a condo to a townhouse, I decided to use them again based on that positive experience. Unfortunately, this move was very disappointing, especially considering how happy I was with them the first time. The biggest issue was the wardrobe boxes. The move included two wardrobe boxes, and I had also specifically requested a third one because I had a lot of clothing and other items that needed to be moved carefully. However, about three hours into the move, the movers told me that they had not brought any wardrobe boxes at all. I had to leave the move, drive to Home Depot myself, and purchase boxes so we could continue. I ended up spending approximately $120 out of pocket for boxes that should have been provided as part of the service. This was particularly frustrating because the request had been made in advance and the boxes were part of what was agreed upon. The move was initially quoted at 5 hours but ended up taking 7 hours, I had to pay $400 more. Part of the delay was because the movers did not bring the proper tools to disassemble some of the furniture, despite the fact that I had sent pictures beforehand. They had to borrow my tools, which I didn't mind, but they left them all over the place. The travel time was also much longer than expected. The two locations are approximately a 30-minute drive apart, but it took them about 1 hour and 23 minutes to get to the new location. This contributed to the additional labour time and cost, meaning I ultimately paid for two extra hours. At the new place, the furniture was not properly unwrapped or set up. Much of it was simply left wrapped in the protective film, scattered the garbage in the rooms. I understand that moving can be unpredictable and that not every move will go perfectly. However, given my excellent experience with Ninja Movers in 2019, I specifically chose them again because I trusted their service. This time, I ended up paying approximately $120 for boxes that should have been provided, paying for two additional hours of labour, and dealing with several issues that could have been avoided with better preparation. It's unfortunate because I genuinely wanted to have the same positive experience I had in 2019, but this move fell well short of that standard.

Great Toronto Movers is a fantastic moving company. Moving is usually quite a stressful experience…read moreand Great Toronto Movers helped to make the day much less taxing and very smooth. Ahmed and his partner arrived a few minutes early which was very helpful and they worked efficiently and were very careful when handling my furniture and boxes and other items like lamps. Moving between condos means having only so much elevator time and they completed the move within the time allotted. This is truly a company that cares and is always willing to help.I had a problem with opening a couple of drawers in one of my dressers - it's an older solid wood one - and I contacted Pari at the office and asked she knew of anyone who might be able to help. She responded immediately and sent someone over to check it out the very next day. Ahmed came and examined and studied the dresser and worked until he finally figured out the problem. The problem seemed to be a result of the extra humidity in my new place which caused the wood to expand just enough to cause a issue. After Ahmed's help, the drawers now open and shut as they should. A lot of companies might just feel that once the move was complete their job was done but Great Toronto Movers went above and beyond the call of duty to help. And I should mention the pricing. The pricing is very fair and you know exactly how the pricing is structured and there are no hidden fees - something I discovered that many moving companies have - but not Great Toronto Movers. Truly the best moving experience I have had and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks very much to Great Toronto Movers. Charlie

It was an intense 6-hour move; the movers were SO strong! I seriously don't know how they lifted many of our furniture barehanded. We had a really big couch and a massive wardrobe, and the movers made it look super easy during the transport! Thank you so much to Tiffany for coordinating the move and for the easy communication via text. She was very helpful and made sure everything was running smoothly before, during, and after the move! Highly recommend this family-run business for a truly unique moving experience :)

Unfortunately, this second experience was very disappointing. 1. Damaged Furniture & Missing Parts During the move, my table was damaged and several screws went missing. I was away in Asia at the time, so my boyfriend had to handle everything with the movers. When I returned, I found the table broken and incomplete. When I raised this issue with the company, they responded that none of their workers recalled causing any damage. They also said that since more than 10 days had passed, there was nothing they could do, which I find completely unacceptable. 2. Incomplete Work (Door Not Reinstalled) They also removed a door because it was in the way, but did not reinstall it afterward, which caused unnecessary inconvenience. 3. Extra Cost & Time Due to Their Issue In addition, I was clearly told over the phone that two trucks would be provided. However, only one truck showed up on the day, and they later claimed it wasn't written in the agreement, so nothing could be done. Because of this, the move took significantly longer than it should have. This also forced my boyfriend to rent a U-Haul and complete part of the move himself. On top of that, even though the delay was caused by their failure to provide the agreed number of trucks, they still charged by the hour.

The two guys showed up on time and at first I was nervous becuase they didn't say very much, but hey, you don't need their personalitlies to move. They worked dilegently and didn't take a lunch break (they worked 10 - 3:30) and only charged me for 4.5 hours. Their hourly rate is $100 an hour which is $50 less than what seems to be the average rate. They wrapped all my stuff that could be scratched and were super careful. I would highly recommend.

They were excellent at problem-solving when one item looked a bit large to navigate a turn in the stairs. Overall, I could not ask for anything more. Thanks!

****BEWARE**** DO NOT USE FRANCIS MOVERS…read more I am extremely disappointed with the service we received from Francis movers (11 Zaph ave.), What should have been an exciting move into our new home turned into a very upsetting and stressful experience. It happened to be raining on our move when the movers entered our home they had wet dirty shoes and they proceeded to walk all over our cream coloured carpet. I specifically asked if they could put shoe covers on over three shoes to which they replied they do not supply them. They also mentioned that they were very limited on runners for the carpet. Despite knowing the weather conditions, there was very little care shown for protecting the home. During the move, expensive dishes and vases were broken, when my daughter and I heard the crashing of dishes, I asked what broke, they stared laughing saying "nothing broke". They didn't even bother to wrap or protect light coloured furniture items which in turn ended up soiled. They were extremely disrespectful and careless with our belongings and our home. To make matters worse, there was a smell of what appeared to be marijuana which was completely unacceptable and made us very uncomfortable. Once, I unboxed everything, numerous dishes and expensive vases were broken, as I figured. The most upsetting and disturbing part of the nightmare experience was discovering that precious heirloom jewellery given to me by my mother and grandmother , was missing from my jewellery tray that I had left inside my dresser. I made the mistake by not removing the jewellery before the move as I had a lot on my plate. I had meant to get back to it and pack it away. Sadly, I was so busy taking care of other things during the move that I forgot to pack it away and it was left in the dresser. When I unwrapped the dresser from the plastic wrap that they had wrapped around it, the jewellery try was empty. Odd that they would tightly wrap a dark wood dresser and not wrap light coloured furniture. Given the movers wrapped the dresser and were the people handling and transporting our belongings this is extremely upsetting. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND FRANCIS MOVERS
