Needed to kennel my dog for 3 days and found Francis Kennels online and gave the organization a try. After dropping my dog off and realizing that what I was told over the phone of what would happen when I dropped my dog off did not actually happen, I should've found another kennel right away. I was told over the phone that my dog would be escorted to her kennel and I would get to say goodbye but that didn't happen. As I dropped her off she was taken to the kennel area and I was told not to worry. So cold. That's it.
I chose this kennel because their online menu of services seemed legit. They offered a selection of extras for additional fees such as Pavilion Play (playtime in a fenced exterior grassy area), Kong toy with peanut butter, and Report Card (brief report documenting services and how your pet is faring) however they did NOT follow through with delivering the extras. Since I did not receive a report card the first day, I called to find out if a problem had occurred. No one answered the phone. The next day, I called to find out how my dog was doing since I had not received a daily Report Card. The person on the phone said she didn't know why I hadn't received a Report Card nor could she confirm my pet was taken outside for Pavilion Play or given a Kong with peanut butter. She said she would call me back after checking with staff. Well, about 20 min. later someone texted me & apologized that my dog had not been taken outside for Pavilion Play but was immediately given a Kong. Long story short, I had signed up for 3 Pavilion Plays and my dog got 1, 2 Kong toys with peanut butter and my dog got 1, and 3 Report Cards and my dog got 1. As I was collecting my dog, I ensured my bill was adjusted for services not provided. As I was ready to pay the adjusted bill, I raised concerns about the lack of follow through with advertised services and was passed on to a young girl that wanted me and the other employee to know she was in charge. She proceeded to tell me that my dog enjoyed being outside and found a friend (online photos were terrible and didn't support my dog having fun as she claimed), and she's going to have to talk to someone because the notes on my order were not carried out as written. Who cares if my dog found a friend? I do care that my dog did not receive services that I selected as advertised on their website. And the documentation of services is inconsistent: The document online that shows the services I requested was different than the document I walked away with after dropping my dog off. Pretty shabby way to run a business--to advertise and not deliver, present inconsistent info, and have young staff make excuses. My dog was kenneled for 3 days but corrections of services were not made after the first day. As a pet owner, if you expect services that are advertised online by this kennel to be carried out, be aware that your dog may not receive it. read more
