Let's start by saying that I absolutely hate writing reviews unless they are positive. Typically I…read moredon't bother, I just don't go back to that place. However, this is one that after 5-6 months, I have to write. I write in hopes of saving someone else the money that I spent and steer the to a more reputable business. I will also start by saying that I am partially to blame for this bad review. I went to Perfect Touch Performance over a month and a half or so and kept giving Wes, the owner, chance after chance to do a better job or make things right. Wes is a very likable guy. A family man who lives in the area, so I really wanted it to work out. I am to blame for not reading the signs of the poor work. I also am not too mechanically inclined, so I trusted what Wes was saying. I had a 1809 word review written up and it turns out Google doesn't allow that. So here is the TLDR; -Exhaust: Full exhaust install, installing new cats and back. The exhaust is already rattling. Reputable shop that fixed his issues said the system was improperly installed and will need redone. Exhaust hangs too low, outside of channel that it would fit in. When asked about the rattle I was told pretty much "it was good enough to pass inspection and since we used customer supplied parts (the muffler he recommended) that its not under warranty. -Paint: Paint work done was cracking within a couple days and his fix for the chipping paint was terrible (see pictures). Windows were left open when doing this work, causing a mess in the car. Brought the car back in for Wes to clean. Residue from his work ruined my boost gauge screen. Just see the attached picture and you'll understand. $3k+ and you can get a lot better of a job at Maaco. -Engine bay: The catch can was not mounted correctly and due to its placement rubbed one of the hoses. The rub was causing the new hose to wear down already and for the catch can screw plug to come loose and leak oil. Another other shop had to fix this. -Oil change/sensor: I took the car back multiple times for the sensor to be replaced and fixed. Ultimately the sensor never was working by the time I was done with Wes. The reputable shop again had to do the work. It works now. I have doubts it was ever touched. -I spent over $7.5k of work and literally everything he touched wasn't done right and needed or needs redone/fixed. Every last thing that he worked on was done poorly. Everything he did has had issues that needed fixed or has issues that still need fixed. I can't state this enough; don't try and save a few dollars by going to this cheaper shop. Honestly, I wouldn't trust them to wash my car at this point. Go to someone whose reviews weren't written by friends/family. I was told that he worked with my budget constraints and that was the problem... $7.5k... I expected the work done to at least be done right. Spend the extra cash now so that you aren't just spending it later.

I've been a customer of the Jiffy Lube in Westminster for years, but they've gone so far downhill…read moreover the past 2 years or so that after my last experience I vowed I was done with them. I was happy to see this Valvoline open up just down the street from them and figured I'd give them a try. We pulled up and literally all bays were open, so no wait whatsoever - sweet! You stay in the car while they change your oil, and they ask you the standard questions about whether your wipers are working well, whether you want them to replace your cabin or engine air filters, etc., while checking your lights and tire pressure as well. In the end the cost for just an oil change (oil and oil filter) was just over $100 - ouch! I was hoping they would be a bit cheaper than Jiffy Lube, at least initially, but to me this is a price that will have me just changing my own oil next time it's due; 5q of 0W-16 oil is about $25 and the oil filter is about $10, so for $35-$40 dollars it's a no-brainer. I also noticed that the 'next oil change' sticker was set to 3,000 miles beyond my current odometer reading, which is 100% incorrect. The proper recommended spacing for oil changes with my 2023 Toyota Corolla is 10,000 miles, so either they can't be bothered to check and see what the correct, manufacturer recommendation is for oil changes on various vehicles or they're just intentionally misleading people. Not a good feeling. Overall they're quick and pleasant, so if you don't mind paying a ton of overhead for a task you can pretty easily do yourself, if nothing else they're a step WAY above the Jiffy Lube.
