We're big fans of good pizza, and finding a deal where you get a massive slice and a salad for just $6.00 feels like a total steal. What's even better is that it wasn't just some limited lunch special; we stopped by on a weekend at dinner time and the price was the same. The crust is perfectly thin, the marinara has a great kick to it, and it's just a really satisfying meal. For as picky as I am about pizza, I LOVED THIS PIZZA !!! it's thin, the marinera sauce is great, it's just a satisfying slice of pizza. I appreciated that it wasn't oily on top, and the price ! They have a $6 deal that comes with a huge slice of pizza, any kind you want, and a decent filling bowl of salad. Ordered on DoorDash and honestly was not impressed. If I ordered the wrong thing, please let me know. I got the 12" meat lovers, which was floppy with toppings falling off as soon as you picked it up it up. Also there were dehydrated onions, which were not advertised on the DoorDash listing. No thanks! The Stromboli was pretty good in comparison but still mid. We also got the garlic bread, which was honestly a joke. The lid to the marinara sauce was crushed and loose, which led to some spillage during the delivery, and again the bread needed more time to be toasty! There was practically zero crunch throughout the meal, but flavor was okay. It was overall fine I guess, but I can't say I would get it again based on the experience I had. read more

This time in I wanted to try the Lasagna and I added an order of Garlic Bread. The Lasagna came with a well sized garden salad. The garlic bread quickly followed the salad. It was also well sized with plenty of cheese and great tasting marina sauce - nice touch of acidity - in fact, this marinara sauce was as good as any I've had in the area, right up there with Di Liso's and Coppola's! I came in for dinner with a friend, and was pleased with the service here. I ordered a burger and onion rings. The rings were the thin style, very crunchy, a little harder to eat. I prefer the normal style because the larger onion sections have a distinct texture and flavor (including juice) that comes through. The burger was fine, nothing special about it. Overall for the food, I would have given a three-star. My friend had a cheesesteak as recommended by the server, and he said it was fine. The extra star came from the service. The wait-person we had was super nice, smiley and available. Nazyra (sp?) had a different name and I hope I'm not butchering the spelling! I enjoy going out to eat as I love good foods and find it a great way to relax. On May 20, 2026 I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Francesco's in Winston Salem NC. A restaurant I had been going to for the past ten years or more three to five times per week. On this particular visit my waitress Misty had left my bill on the table only to realize when I got up to the register to pay I had been given someone else's bill. It was no big deal and I actually thought it was funny as my meal was only $7.00 and the bill given to me was for $25.00. I even joked about it to the cashier. Two days later on May 22, 2025 I decided to have dinner again at Francesco's. After seating myself, the waitress Misty that waited on me on my previous visit on May 20, 2026 approached my table informing me I had not left her a tip on my last visit. Without hesitation I apologized for my forgetfulness. Though I felt sure I had left a tip I told the waitress not to worry as I would take care it. The waitress at that point informed me that because I had not tipped her the previous time she had to sleep in her car. By the way I always tip $2-$3 dollars on my dinner of $7.00. This waitress found it necessary to approach my table three other times to complain about me not leaving a tip and having to sleep in her car. At one point she asked me where I slept as she had to sleep in her car. She then asked me what my friends would think if they knew she had to sleep in her car because I didn't leave a tip. At one point she said she didn't mean to hurt my feelings but she speaks her mind. I was more disappointed than I was mad as I had given Misty $50 several months earlier to help her son in college. Each time I assured her if I had not left a tip it was an oversight/forgetfulness on my part and I would take care of it. But it didn't seem to matter to the waitress. The waitress approached my table for the fifth time to inform me she was was not going to wait on me but was going to have her son wait on me. Her last words were "be nice to my son". I decided to leave and go elsewhere for a bite to eat. But not before stopping at the cashiers stand and leaving money for the waitress for my potential oversight. I would love to know the name of the hotel this waitress stays at for $2.-$3. I spoke with the owner the following day on Saturday23, 2026. I stated the aforementioned along with how I believed Misty's action was not only inexcusable but disrespectful. Much of what I mentioned was translated to the owner via daughter because of language difference. Though the daughter said they were sorry and they would talk to the waitress, I'll be curious to know if anything will ever become of it as I would not want anyone else to experience such disrespect, drama nor bs. As mentioned at the beginning, I enjoy going out to eat as I love good foods and find it a great way to relax.. But instead I was served DISRESPECT, DRAMA, and BS !!! read more

We were on the north side of Winston last weekend and checked our Yelp bookmarks. We briefly saw that Francesco's offered a wide variety of items and decided to stop in about 11:30 on a Saturday. When we arrived there were just a few cars in the parking lot and they had opened at 11. We were immediately greeted upon walking in by several young ladies who told us to take a seat anywhere. They provided us menus and took our drink order. The menu consists of appetizers, pizzas, stromboli and calzone options, sandwiches, burgers and pasta dishes. We decided to share a large calzone and my wife ordered a side salad while I picked an order of their garlic bread. The stand alone building appears to be very clean and well taken care of and there was a steady stream of people arriving to dine in as well as pick up to go orders. Our salad and garlic bread arrived quickly and looked yummy. Our server was friendly and efficient as well. We enjoyed both and commented again on how reasonably priced the menu items are. My wife had to try the garlic bread I ordered and loved it. Our calzone arrived shortly afterwards and was huge. We had also requested extra marinara and our server brought a good size bowl of hot marinara which was appreciated. We immediately dug in and really enjoyed every bite. It was too much to eat between the two of us and we were able to package up the leftover calzone and marinara. Again, great find and we would recommend to others. read more

Located off the beaten path, this place offers great food at affordable prices. At a stand alone building with its own private parking lot. You are immediately greeted by one of their employees. There are always specials posted on a board near the entrance and more often than not they are really nice choices. Place has ample seating inside and is very comfortable not tight like other places. For appetizers we had the Bruschetta which was really good. Mozzarella sticks were perfectly seasoned on outside and hot gooey cheese inside. The soup of the day was Lobster Bosque, it did not impress, watery, salty and absolutely no lobster meat in it. The Philly Cheesesteak and Chicken Cheesesteak were both very hearty and filling g according to my daughter and friend. I had the chicken Parm hero, good sauce to mozzarella ration. Chicken had good flavor though it was cut up and I prefer whole cutlets. Overall a great deal for the money. Our waitress was super friendly and patient with us. I wish i would have taken pictures of the fresh sautéed spinach and the broccoli out of the containers absolutely superb. The spinach and broccoli was so good I've gone two days in a row just for those items and they give you nice portion sizes all for $4.00. Those alone are worth the trip. As they include fresh garlic. The shrimp scampi pasta dish was good had to order some extra sauce to give it some gusto both it was not bad. I had lunch here today and I truly do enjoy coming to this restaurant I've been coming here since I was a kid today, we ordered the bruschetta which was amazing the bread was perfectly toasted we also ordered a small pepperoni pizza. I always have a good meal here from subs to the salads everything is always fresh and tasty. The food and price point of the food is good. I've been here maybe three times and never had any issues with the food on any visit. The service I received was very mediocre. She was a younger girl, I believe her ethnicity was black or Hispanic with long black hair. Tattoos on her right arm potentially?? Her attitude was not welcoming or like she wanted to do her job. She got our drink/food order and never came back but to bring 1 round of refills for two people. No pre-bussing. She never even came back to see if we needed anything after passing out the food. Francesco's has always been a favorite of mine. They're great for Italian eats that don't break the bank. The waitresses give that family feeling you get in a small-town establishment like this. The portions are huge and the quality is great. The baked ziti uses a vodka sauce instead of traditional red sauce, which I love! They have an amazing steak and cheese Stromboli as well. This seems to be a hot spot for local employees at lunch time. Even though the restaurant was full, we were seating quickly. Everyone is in a rush for only having one hour to eat and the service is fast. It has to be to keep the crowd happy. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection and went with a chicken salad with modifications. They were accepted and I was happy that was allowed. The salad has huge! I ended up getting a to-go box and it was packed to the brim. (Also, they have the good runny ranch!) We also got mozzarella cheese sticks, which were perfect. My name is Tarsha Shore. I have been a loyal patron at Francesco's for the past 20 plus years. I was eating at their restaurant when it's first location was near Sam's Club on University Pkwy. However, after today, I will never send my money there again!!! First, I called in my order, the person answering the phone did not say "Francesco's, may I help you", I said hello. The young lady on the phone responded with poor customer service and had a bad attitude. I placed my order: Philly steak sub, 2 fries, one slice of pepperoni pizza. When I arrive at Francesco's, I'm was met with more bad customary service. Starting with the person who took the order pointing and tapping at the menu wanting to argue with me about the difference between a Philly steak compared to a Chicken Philly. We had a back-and-forth dialog on what I had originally stated, when I placed my order. I asked later for the name of the manager/owner. I was told by another male employee that they don't have a manager. He wrote down the name and number of the owner, then the situation escalated. I was yelled at and cursed at twice, by the male employee because I asked for the name of the young lady who took my order. He refused to give me her name and he then refused to give me his name. I canceled my order and requested my money back. Two law enforcement officers who were eating at the restaurant at the time approached me at the counter to see what was going on. I explained to one of them that I asked for the owners' number then I was cursed at. He suggested that I just leave and look it up online. I left. I have never been treated this way before in any establishment and instead of losing my cool over the whole situation, I decided to write about my experience. However, I will use other means to personally contact the owner "Sergio" and tell him of my awful experience in his establishment. On our way to vacation we found this on Yelp and really enjoyed it. I personally got the Chicken Parm. and it was great. The spaghetti seemed different, it was fine. I would have preferred a little more sauce. I should have asked. The other two family members got the Cheese Ravioli and Trio of pastas. All of us got the salad which was very colorful.
