Food truck Friday !
Meena P.

Random night at a food truck outside Maddie's cakes in Advance. Uptown pizza went above and beyond my expectations for pizza in a food truck. They had a pizza oven built into the in truck. Great team working behind the scenes, and super friendly. Something for everyone as far as toppings go. I opted for the veggie, cheese, tomatoes, arugula, olives and balsamic glaze. The bacon deluxe with hot honey, was delicious too, great sweet and salty combo. This was not your papa johns style pizza, nothing wrong with papa johns! The crust here was chewy, soft, and just the right thickness, even with the sauce and toppings it wasn't the floppy kinda slice. Pleasantly surprised that uptown hasn't been seen around more because they definitely should be everywhere. They also have Maddie's cookies and brownies which are amazing too! Go check out where they are and go get a pizza!

Absolutely the best pizza I've eaten from a food truck. A whole brick oven pizza within the truck, giving you the best bubbly, extreme heat-cooked pizzas. The ingredients themselves are perfect, with just enough sauce that I like. This family knows their flavors and knows their dough. You can find this truck throughout the Triad, as it is well worth the drive to try their pizza.

Tried this food truck at the Winston Junction Market and it was amazing. They had about 4-5 pizzas available and you could add hot honey to any of them. I got pepperoni with hot honey. I never had hot honey on Pizza but it added just what my pepperoni pizza needed. There were plenty of pepperonis. The pizza has a good and the crust was cooked perfect. The wait time was not bad maybe 10-15 minutes and they seemed to have had a pretty steady traffic flow. The employee I interacted with was very nice and friendly and noticed my total was a little high and he went back to make sure he didn't overcharge me. There was accidentally two bottles of water added when I ordered one but I thought it was nice that he noticed the price was off and he stoped to check before even asking for my card. I look forward to trying other pizzas on their menu!

Tried this new food truck for the first time at Wiseman brewery and LOVED it! I mean, who doesn't love pizza that can show up to the local breweries?! The pizzas are personal sized, but I split the americano with my husband and friend for something to snack on while we had some drinks and we all really enjoyed it! The pizza is wood fired and the crust was cooked perfectly. The sauce had great flavor and the pizza had a good sauce to cheese ratio, which is always important when it comes to pizza! I plan to try the veggie pizza next time. Not only is the food delicious, but the food truck is awesome looking too. They have it so you can see the pizza oven from the outside, which I love. Definitely recommend seeking out this food truck to get your pizza fix!

Uptown pizza is the best in town. I love a good Neapolitan and this is the best you will find. The cheese and margherita is my favorite. I love catching them at juggheads, as well as medaloni!

Best wood fired pizza in town! So good! The pepperoni gets nice and crispy. I try to go as often as I can.

I am a big fan of chorizo and well I am also a big fan of queso, but had never had them together. It had a little bit of a kick to it but, nothing too crazy; it really complimented the juicy burger well. The other burger on the menu that caught my eye is the breakfast burger. I will have to be sure to try that in the near future. As always they provided service with a smile!

Their burgers are incredible and the service is fantastic. My favorite burger that I've had from Camel City is a take on Ben's Pimento Burger. You simply go up and say "I'd like the Ben's Pimento Burger 'Ben's Way'." Chances are you will be speaking to Ben himself, so there won't be any issues on him understanding you. Ben's way is the normal Ben's Pimento Burger, but instead of using the regular brioche bun they use a grilled pimento cheese sandwich as the top bun and a grilled pimento cheese sandwich as the bottom bun. Ben's way isn't for those who have heart problems or even who are worried about heart problems, but for the rest of you it is delicious! The pimento cheese is incredible here. It is chipotle pimento and is a great amount of spice. After eating this burger Ben's way, I immediately crashed and took a 3 hour nap. Clear your schedules people. It is totally worth it though. For a day when you can't take a 3 hour nap, their other burgers are delicious as well. The second best option, in my opinion, is the PBB&J Burger. This is a burger with homemade peanut butter, red pepper jelly, and bacon. This may seem like an odd combo of ingredients, but they seriously come together perfectly. I think that I could just sit around all day dipping that bacon in the pepper jelly. I haven't tried many of their sides, but I would recommend the Southern Style Potato Salad. The food here is creative, inspired, and delicious. The service is seriously some of the best that I've experienced from a food truck. They seem to have a system down. I've seen them serve dozens of hungry patrons quickly and with a smile. The owner of the truck, Ben, seems like a genuine guy and seems to sincerely enjoy what he does. Plus, he's a Tar Heel which is reason enough to support him. Do yourself a favor and figure out where Camel City Grill is going to roll up to next and make sure you are there.

(4.5 stars) I'd been curious about this food truck since I…read moreheard about them last year, and I'm glad that I got a chance to finally try them. Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.

First off, this isn't just a random food truck. There is such an incredible story behind it. It's run by Gary and his best friend Alex, who have been friends since grade school back in Mexico City, Mexico!! You can feel that deep history in the way they run their business. There's a level of trust, energy, and authenticity that you don't usually see, and it trickles down to the entire team!!!Every employee I interacted with was genuinely happy, welcoming, and proud to be there (which says a lot) especially during these times. They've also set themselves up in some of the best spots around. I visited : 1) Summerfield Farms. 2) Oden Brewing Company. At both locations, you're not just grabbing food, you're getting a whole experience! Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Live music, dog friendly. The menu is simple, affordable, and done right. We got to try 4 different tacos, their queso dip, and their churros, and everything delicious! The meat was seasoned to perfection, super juicy, and full of flavor without being overcomplicated. But what really made this experience unforgettable? I got invited onto the truck to make my own churros!! let me tell you, that is not something you get to do every day. It was hands-on, fun, and honestly one of the most unique experiences I've had, collaborating with another business. By the end of it, it didn't even feel like a transaction anymore, we became friends! Taco Bros isn't just serving food, they're building up thier community. And that's something you don't come across often.

Overall the truck seemed very clean and hygienic for a food truck. The staff was incredibly friendly and organized. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The prices are a bit high which is common for food trucks. Guac and chips was $10 and the chicken quesadilla was $14. One thing that would have been a nice touch was Jarritos. The chicken quesadilla was good but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was good sized and stuffed full of chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese. Overall we enjoyed Taco Bros and would definitely try them again at another event.
