While running some errands in the Claremore area, we decided to stop in at Francesco's, mainly because I'd had them in my sights for some time, and I needed a new Yelp! review. We arrived around 11:45 am, just ahead of a normal lunchtime, and were the only people in the place. The seating area is rather small and intimate, dictated pretty much by the building itself, what has seen numerous businesses come and go over the years. Decor was fairly rustic trattoria style, with some whimsical yet totally appropriate Italian music in the background. I commented to The Wife that I kept expecting Don Corleone to walk in the door. Service was spot on through the entire meal. Not sure if that's because of the low customer count, but towards the end, the place did start filling up a bit, and I never noticed a drop in our server's attention, so I'm staying with a two thumbs up on service. The Kid opted for the de rigeur Spaghetti and Marinara sauce... she's as constant as the northern star in that regard. The Wife went with the Chicken Parm, and I, being constant as well, chose the Clams and Linguine, white sauce if you please. We also ordered calamari for an app, based on some of the reviews I'd read. A basket of really nice and perfectly done rolls led the way, and they were very good. Hot, fresh and flavorful, all that was missing was maybe some olive oil and herbs for a little dipping. The side salads arrived in short order, with the ladies having ranch dressing, and I choosing the house dressing, which turned out to an absolutely phenomenal tomato vinaigrette. I'm not a huge tomato fan, but I was totally blown away by this dressing. It was stellar. Shortly after the salads, our app arrived. This proved to be the single letdown of the entire visit. While visually appealing, the calamari was tough and overcooked. Instead of a crispy coating over succulent tender calamari, we got crunchy nuggets of tough squid. Flavor-wise, it wasn't bad, but overall, just overcooked and not all that appetizing. In due course, the entrees arrived. Francesco's marinara is more of a creamy marinara than the norm, so the flavor seems a bit more subtle and less acidic/sharp than the normal marinara. That said, it was a nice departure and made for a really nice sauce on both The Kid's spaghetti and The Wife's Parm. All the pastas were cooked perfectly. The Wife's Parm was tender, juicy with a really flavorful breading that stood out perfectly against the more subtle marinara. Covered in just the right amount of cheese, it was easily one of the better Chicken Parms I've had in the Tulsa area. My clams were also spot on. The sauce was the perfect consistency, and the clams were cooked perfectly. After the calamari, I was afraid the clams might be overdone, but they were the ideal buttery soft texture and very flavorful. Overall, I was impressed with the meal and the service, and we will not hesitate at all to make the schlep from Owasso to Claremore to eat at Francesco's. read more

Too be completely honest, I was expecting this to be an amazing meal but it was. The calamari was to die for. And the bread oh my goodness the bread I'm in love with their bread. THE BREAD!!! Right before you walk in to the restaurant you can smell an amaaaazing aroma of the bread. When the bread sat onto the table the aroma hit and my the Italian Gods must have blessed it lol My tortellini alla palla was ok but for the price I can't complain. They give you a lot. Who knew you could find great Italian with wine in Claremore! Off the main drags of fast food, and worth every bit. Prices reasonable and everything was delicious. Try the olive oil dipping sauce (yummmy lots of garlic) and don't forget dessert. It's a hidden gem and there's something for everybody.. especially if you love Italian food. read more

The bread, spaghetti, salad and ice tea was great, the chicken in the picassa and piccata was rubbery and should be sold as shoe soles. It was either out of date or microwaved. When i mentioned it, they said they dont have a microwave, so i guess the chicken was frozen and out of date. read more

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on our way home from the lake. The lobster ravioli were especially delicious and my husband loved his chicken dish. The fresh bread was so fluffy. Food was okay ish. Too oily. But let me tell you, be warned before you go here. The owner is AWFUL. He complains about EVERYTHING. This is good Italian food; not the best, but very good. My favorite so far is the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was cooked just right, not overcooked as happens all too often at other places. The pasta was cooked properly as well, and the sauce was great, with real tomato flavor. Their prices are reasonable; entrees come with a salad, and start at $7.95. I have had mostly good experience with the service. At our last visit, the server, Amy, kept everything running smoothly for a party of 10, with drinks refilled as needed. I sure hope this place makes it. Over the past 15 years I have seen a Chinese place, a Mexican place, another Mexican place, a catfish place, an Italian place, another Italian place, and a burger place here. I'm not sure what is wrong with this location, but I'm guessing that locals think it is a college hangout because it sits on the edge of Rogers State University, while the college kids probably think it is too pricey. Delicious food in great portions. I may have filled up too quickly on the bread. The Stromboli was a certified "Italian Football" and the shrimp and scallops alfredo with creamy and flavorful. The oil and bread was delicious! The ham, pepperoni pasta dish I ordered was terrible. I'm uncertain if the metallic canned taste was from the olives or the tomatoes. We went on a Friday evening and it was crowded. We received prompt and friendly service. The food was excellent. We ordered a large supreme pizza which was wonderful. I also was able to try the Chicken Alfredo which I will definitely get next time. The butter knots were amazing with the seasoned olive oil. We also used it on the pizza crust. Yum! This seemed to be authentic Italian food and was perfectly. We have heard nothing but good from other people that have gone. If I could give a negative star this place would have 100. The shrimp and crab Alfredo states (crab not in the shell) of course it's not in the shell its imitation crab logs that they don't even attempt to cut up. It's been a long time since I've been this repulsed by a restaurant. When my husband spoke to the manager he refused to do anything so we still had to pay for the worthless disgusting food. And the waitress' comment when my husband asked to see the manager was "I just work here" and it was like they couldn't wait to get us out the door when there were only 3 other tables in use. So sad that this is the type of place that Claremore has. Take it from me, Taco Bell or Taco bueno is more worth your time and money! read more

I found the food, service, and friendliness to be outstanding. My wife and I have eaten here three times since it opened. All three times my meal was excellently prepared, tasty, and well presented. The portions were plentiful. The bread is exceptional. I have had the linguine with white clam sauce, the shrimp with pasta and an Alfredo sauce, and tonight I had veal with a brandy cream sauce on spaghetti. We definitely be going back.
