I was struggling to find: 1st a good barbershop with friendly guys. 2nd something universal where I can change my hair color and bring my girlfriend with me to do something for her too. 3rd a professional hairstylist who really knows how to cut the hair. Finally I found the place and the hairstylist Ranel Gee. This guy knows all London hairstyle techniques like Tony and Guy and Vidal Sassoon, he went to their school and also as a person, a very interesting person to speak about music, soccer and more lol. Thank you guys, definitely is a best haircut and color place for me. I'll see you later. Btw if we compare the level and quality about prices they are very fair. read more

Perfect spot if you're high-spectrum obsessed with your hair fitting your head and face, and overall personal vibe. Meho achieved that balance while adhering to what little direction I gave him. I pay an additional shrink fee for coming in hung over and bearing with my cathartic rambling ;) I've been to Meho twice. I'll be back three times+. . . . read more

Francesco Black - Better than imagined. . . Meho-crafted - Barbers Near Me - San Francisco, California

I love getting hair done here. So professional and I walk out feeling like a billion bucks. George is my hair stylist. When I have gone to other salons. It would take a couple days for me to adjust to my hair style or color but here, I enjoy it right away. They also have nespresso for a little bonus. read more

Francesco Black - Me getting my hair done by George Maurice. - Barbers Near Me - San Francisco, California

Returned from a three week holiday and a wedding in London. I was desperate and needed my hair trimmed and so went to a high-end salon in London Mayfair. They did a good job. I came back thinking I didn't have enough hair to cut but had appointment I'd forgotten. I went in anyhow. Francesco ran his hands through my hair and sighed. Then not a word of criticism. I walked out with the best haircut I've ever had in my life. Guy behind me had the same experience. This is the spot. read more

You will get quality service and individual attention here. I have had several men's cuts that were so good that I decided to bring my mom, and she was floored by the result as well. Ranel took special care of us and I've watched the other stylists take great care with their clients as well. They want to achieve a style that makes you feel confident and are successful that. The studio is clean and stylish as well read more

Have been getting cut by my guy Stephen for years now and he always gets my hair just right. The vibe is always great and even though I've since moved, I always make sure to stop by for a cut whenever visiting SF. Couldn't recommend them more read more

When I first moved to SF, I have three terrible haircuts in a row all at different barbers in the Financial District and Union Square, then I found Francesco and Stephen. I've been going to Francesco Black Salon since it's inception and Stephen Mullin always exceeds my expectations. Stephen has cut my hair consistently for over 8 years and always delivers on service, attention to detail and provide great hair style. The haircuts are a premium but absolutely worth it. read more

Best place in the city to get a proper haircut. After a lot of trial and error - I came across this place. Now Stephen has been cutting my hair for years and long may it continue! Great place with talented staff read more

I had such a great time getting my haircut with Nikko. He takes his time with the consultation and really listens to your wants and needs when it comes to your hair. He makes sure to check in during your cut and afterwards so you leave feeling happy! The salon was beautiful and I left with an awesome cut and blowdry. read more

George is a very kind and attentive hairstylist. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and understand the direction I want to go with my hair. My cowlick area is usually difficult to manage, but George knows exactly how to tame it. He has a very friendly and charming demeanor, which immediately put me at ease when I checked in with him at the front desk. He even offered me an espresso, and I will definitely be returning to George for my future haircuts. read more

Francesco reached out to me directly to remedy the issue. I am grateful he wanted to fix my hair. I feel so much better and hair looks great! He made sure to check in with me while re-cutting my hair to ensure it would look good with and without hair product. What it is now is exactly what I wanted! Thank you! read more

Worth the splurge! I was fortunate to find Francesco when I was in town for a Madonna Concert. Let's just say I hadn't previously given much thought to how my shabby hair was definitely not special-occasion-worthy. Francesco took the time (even more than scheduled) to understand my hair and to find the style that complimented my features best. I felt more than ready to be seen by the Queen. I fully intend to plan future trips to The City around Francesco's availability and my styling needs. read more

This place is amazing and I highly recommend. I am originally from New Jersey and it has been a struggle finding a good shop in the Bay Area. Make sure to ask for Meho if you want to look sharp. He can cut and style all types of hair - male, female, you name it. I go with the fauxhawk fade to which he perfects with ease but he seriously can do anything. Thank you! read more

The whole vibe of the Francesco Black salon is on point. Fashionable, yet understated. Classy, yet unpretentious. That being said, it's an expensive joint but you get what you pay for: the best men's haircuts in San Francisco. I've had a few of the barbers at the salon cut my hair, and never been disappointed, but my go-to is Stephen Mullin. I have a tricky head of hair to wrangle, but Stephen has the talent and dedication to consistently leave my hair looking its best. read more

I have been getting my haircuts from Stephen at Francesco Black for many years now. They are truly one of the best that I have found. Well run, clean, on time, and most importantly excellent haircuts. I knew I had found the right place when my wife told me it was the best cut i have ever had! read more

Truthfully - I never wanted to go to another Downtown / Fidi salon or barbershop again because my last experience back in Nov 2018 was horrible and it put a bad taste in my mouth for all salons / stylists in the city. But I needed to cut my hair because the top was getting too long and heavy and so I looked on yelp and found Francesco Blacks shop and there were so many amazing pics and reviews that I thought I would give it a shot. I work in DTSF on 2nd and Market so the walk to his shop only took 12 mins which was great and the fact that he was able to give cuts in 30 mins was a plus. I walk into the shop as a new customer, Francesco welcomes me with open arms and a genuine hello and automatically the vibe was at 100! Before arriving at his shop I kept saying to myself how I would explain the cut I wanted but when I got there he simply asked me "how do you style your hair?" and the rest was history! He cut my hair EXACTLY how I envisioned it AND his attention to detail of the cut was A1! His service and professionalism and quality of cut was SO amazing I paid him $80! IT WAS ALL WORTH IT! If you need a cut / style from someone who knows what they are doing and are located in downtown SF GO TO HIS SHOP! Thanks read more

Ranel Gee, Should not be allowed to cut people's hair! He has a terrible attitude and doesn't listen .. . I was willing to ignore it for a good haircut.. I went to him 3 times.. the first cut was great, but the next two not so much.. he does what ever he wants!!! . he would leave the sides soooo long and i would say, " Hey, the sides seem really long and not like last time. " .. When I would confront him about it, he would get angry and aggressive .. .. terrible barber!! 95+ 20 tip for a basic hair cut.?! No wonder he is aways available.. What a joke.. read more

Francesco Black - New Cut - Stay Fresh - Barbers Near Me - San Francisco, California

Francesco Black - My new hair style - Barbers Near Me - San Francisco, California

Abso-freaking-lutely best place to have your hair done. Here is the thing - if you are tired of barbershop-ish buzz cuts and looking for some authentic urban style, this is your choice. Now, what they do here is giving you a European look mixed with an American style. It's like you are still an SF-person but the best looking one! Another thing is how masters work here. When you see the boss at work - he is sharp and fast like Mohammad Ali. Like a robot with laser aim! Damn, the guy could be a top-tier surgeon! I'm super happy with this place! read more

Stephen has taken care of my hair since I moved to SF 2 years ago. As somebody who is experiencing hair loss, I'm always conscious of what way I can style my hair. Stephen recognizes that and always delivers in giving me a 10/10 cut that I can't get elsewhere read more

Francesco is a true craftsman and with little to no direction will create the perfect cut for you!

Finally got to check out the new opening to Francesco's shop. This spot is amazing! Always a warm welcome from him when I see him and he's very excited about his new spot. Haircut was one and done! Got it on point and in 30 minutes. I usually get a fade with a slick back top and my dude Francesco get its done well. Always has a great conversation with his clients and his work and art with hair isn't just the typical cookie cutter barbershop cut you would get anywhere else. He knows his forte and does it well. Upon the grand opening he even gave me complementary chocolate from Italy. The shop also provides Nespresso coffee, water, great tunes, and tv to watch as you wait. Trust Francesco's got you! read more

Excellent haircut from Ranel. He knows what he's doing and has great vision and sense of style. Recommended without hesitation!

I have been Francesco's client for over 3 years since he was working in the FiDi. I can't say enough good things about this new Hair Salon and his skills in haircutting! A truly master of his craft. I was so excited when he finally opened Francesco Black! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a great cut! read more

Francesco Black - Barbers Near Me - San Francisco, California

Scheduled an appointment with George and he was very patient and accommodating. He listened to me and actually provided me with a haircut that I was ecstatic about and looked great as well. Great service from before I even walked in and it maintained all the way through. The place has a great vibe and aesthetic as well. Definitely will be going back for another haircut. read more

Fundamentals: excellent haircut, that has looked good even as it has grown out. Narrative: First time, and late for my appointment (the space is above street level in an office building)... and a bit embarrassed. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcomed me in, reassured me, and offered a (really good!) espresso. Had a wonderful conversation with the stylist about dogs and moving to S.F. while he cut my hair. Previously, I have viewed getting a haircut as a necessary chore. Now this is how I pamper myself. This is where I will always be going from now on! read more

Yes this place is expensive but I have yet to find a hair stylist cut my hair as well as Stephen Mullin does. I have longer curly/wavy hair that stylist in that past always seem to mess up. Thankfully I put my trust in Stephen a couple of years ago and have been coming back ever since. If you have longer (in my case thick) curly/wavy hair Stephen is your guy. In my mind it's worth the cost but I also go months before coming back for another cut. Overall highly recommend Stephen not only for a great cut but great conversation and service. Will be coming back as long as I live in SF. Also if you are driving I recommend parking under the union square lot, it's an easy walk. read more

I feel so happy that George cut my hair , he was extremely sweet and professional, he listened what I wanted and respect the length of my hair, was my first time with him for color and haircut and definitely I will be back again and again . As a previous salon owner myself, I know how hard it is to find talented people, not to mention ones who are also nice and fun to be around. Francesco has somehow managed to put together a staff of true artists who are amazing at their craft and also happen to be amazing people. What a rare gift to spend your time in the chair listening to great music and happy conversation instead of stylist drama. No matter who you book with, you will walk out relaxed and happy and looking seriously FIRE. This place is such a gem! read more
