I surprised my friend with a late Christmas gift. He works hard and takes really good care of his family and everyone around him. He rarely does anything for himself, so since he's into the whole salt n pepper beard growth fad I wanted to treat him. I booked Mikey through the Booksy website. My plan was to do the premium haircut and beard package. When I saw my friend later on that day he had shaved his head bald (F%#ck)! I immediately messaged Mikey and explained the situation. He was understanding and agreed to just do the premium beard package. It was late at night when we got there. Mikey was very accommodating and chill as hell! This place is basically a spa for men. He had a facial, scalp massage, hot towel, face steam, and beard trim. Mikey took his time and was precise with the services, because we had extra time in our booked time slot since we were no longer doing the haircut. When the process was over, my friend was very much pleased. 20+ years of friendship and I had never seen him smile so big. To this day, he's still talking about how good the whole experience was. Dope spot! read more

I have received brading services from taylor with Tay Creations ( stockton braider) on numerous occassions. She is a bit slow but could be because she is VERY detailed when it comes to her stitich work / craft. I am giving her three stars because the last time I tried to book with her, she canceled my appointment with no explanation. I asked her what was going on via text and Instagram and she just failed to respond or even re-book me for another day. Since then, I have tried to book and she is still not responding and/or returning texts. I can only chop it up to the last time she did my 4 braids, the center part was not even -- making my braids appear to be bulkier on one side as opposed to the other. I mentioned it to her, prior to leaving and she did what she could but it wasn't on bad terms or anything. Needless to say, I have no reason why she is non responsive to me, when she is clearly active on social media and to others . I have heard from other customers that she has done this to them as well as has been rude. I think it is really unprofessional. read more

I surprised my bf for his birthday with the Premium Haircut + Beard (Includes haircut and beard trim with a warm soothing hot towel, gentle hydrating facial cleanser, relaxing facial steamer and face massage finished with a straight razor and our signature beard oil. *Comes with complimentary drink of your choice* - $85 - ~1hr 25min) and by the end, he was in love. Booking through Booksy was quick and easy and Andres took the whole experience to another level. From the facial steamer to the massage and hot towel, they really take the time to ensure your haircut and beard trim are absolutely perfect to your liking and also make the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable. The atmosphere was great and everyone was in good spirits. The location is also awesome, as it's right next to Union Square! I don't think my bf will look at Great Clips the same way again hahaha. read more

I had been looking for a new barbershop for quite a while and this one did not disappoint! I got the full dapper down service, which included a facial / steamer / massage / exfoliating mask / complimentary top shelf drink! Then for my actual haircut it was a flawless fade by Chris with a little after shave to finish it off. I've definitely found my new go to barbershop for the future and look forward to haircuts each and every time. Stay Dapper! read more

2* only due to a really cool location and the barber was a cool kid. Otherwise it would be a 0* if I could. I hope the owner actually reads these! Due to the location, it's a tourist trap. They will probably never see you again and you'll get that type of cut. Nothing special at all. Just another hole in the wall barber shop. Dirty and unkept. I walked by so many other shops that I should have gone to. Way cleaner. Much better environments. Overall, extremely disappointed. My beard trim was so horrible I shaved it off. My son's haircut is one of the worst cuts he's had in years. Seeing his hair up in a bun today, I saw the cut and had to share. This was supposed to be a highlight of our first father and son trip. We flew in for a Warriors game and I wanted to treat us to a great experience as I assumed it would be based on the web site and reviews. Nope. Emailed a detailed request, got a response a week later with words of encouragement that my requests could be handled. I wanted a straight razor shave with beard trim, line up w fade and Afro trim for my mixed son with facials for us both. Another week goes by and still no response. So I called the shop. The owner whom I was emailing with apparently was on vacation. Since I read the reviews and my son was excited, I decided to book with the barber whom answered the phone. He assured me my son would be taking care of but the shop doesn't offer a blade shave and facial as advertised on their website. Welp. The kid who booked us is a rookie with only 2 years under his belt. And it showed. I really feel bad for my son. His cut is crap. Once I realized how bad my beard was, I should have pulled him from the chair. Absolute waste of $150. I could have faded him up in the hotel with a pair of clippers from Target read more

Chris always does an amazing job. What makes him unique? He's caring, kind, accommodating, provides a luxurious, relaxing experience, is on time, is communicative and has reasonable rate. He's very detailed and takes his time which I love. He's done my husband's hair as well as mine! So happy with how it turned out for both of us! :) It's so hard to find a good barber who knows how to do black hair very well as well as any other hair type. You have to come here!! Great work, experience, price and person! :) read more

Better than I expected, and my expectations were already high. Chris is hands down one of the best barbers in the Bay Area. Put it like this, I was FORTUNATE to have been able to book on a random and rare open time slot on Monday. I definitely recommend Chris. I was walking to my car and received two compliments upon leaving the shop (right hand to the sky) It's a crime to call Dapper Down Barber lounge a "barber shop" it is a whole different experience from the time you walk in the door. The customer service and ambiance of the space let you know immediately this is not your typical shop experience. I felt exclusive during my appointment, I felt like I had to do a secret knock and tell someone a code word to get into this lounge. There is a impeccable balance of inclusion and exclusiveness Dapper Down permeates. I highly recommend. read more

Had booked an appointment with Bryce the barber and would have loved to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately got cancelled on the day of my son's appointment, that he was really looking forward to. I get that things come up as I am in the same industry but what really irritated me is that he texted me to reschedule and never even bothered answering my texts back. I've never and would never treat my clients like that. Super disappointed. I wouldn't book here if you value your time, because they clearly don't care. read more

I have to give Chris Da Barber five stars and big thanks for the haircut. He's very professional, the cut looks very sharp next day, and best of all he got a ton of compliments and people asking me where I got my haircut. Will be absolutely returning. read more

Mikey is top notch 100%. From the customer service to attention to detail to the feeling you get knowing your waking out of there looking right. I've been my own barber for over a decade and came into this shop to treat myself (cut/beard premium) and Mikey was incredible and I've been back a few times now. You've earned a faithful customer my friend. The overall vibe of the shop is extremely welcoming and very professional. Highly recommend the cut/beard premium service, Mikey and all of Dapper Down. read more

Best haircut I have ever received. Booked an appointment with Josh and was amazed by the service I was given. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a haircut. read more

As a first timer this barbershop, the experience was great! The haircut I got was very well done and had a touch craftsmanship from the barber Solo. When requesting a appointment through Yelp, the store owner replied within minutes and got me booked for the same day. When I arrived the staff was very friendly and even offered drinks! The location of the barbershop is in the 4th floor of a building near 3 blocks away from civic center Bart. Overall, I think the entire experience was great and will recommend to friends / family (and will be visiting again for future haircuts) read more
