The problem is, or I should say was, that we had run out of space and did not know what to do with a painting we bought in Tuscany, and another we bought in Positano. When we took them in after all these years we learned something new: Art Express makes house calls! Today, they came over to our home, reviewed the wall, our pieces and the two new ones from Italy, and rearranged our wall so that everything fits AT NO COST to us. This is a service that they provide to their customers. And the icing on the cake is that everything now seems to flow beautifully on the wall. Art Express is truly amazing!!! Immediately upon entering the store, I was assisted with making a choice. The shop salesperson looked at the piece, asked what my style was and pulled down some sample frames. After carefully choosing the pros and cons of various choices, I made my purchase. She said it would be ready in a about an hour. Having lived in Miami for over 40 years, I was skeptical that it would be ready within the time frame. It ended up being ready before the hour was up. The frame and piece look spectacular. If you like walking around, this could be a problem. The streets are packed with art lovers. If you like to sit down, this could also be a problem. How could I have not reviewed this before?…read more I was one of the brave souls exploring Wynwood back at the beginning in '02 / '03 when Second Saturdays had a more underground feel to it and was just three or four gallery spaces. (I remember this area when I went to high school nearby and it was just the hood, but I'll leave it at that...don't want any more gray hairs to pop up!) Anyways, Wynwood / Design District has grown up and diversified now and known by the mainstream. Nowadays you're likely to see a DJ performance in front of a local (non green mermaid) coffee shop with live breakdancing, live street painting, performance art such as planking in one of the public spaces, and bands in the other . You're also likely to run into a bunch of majorly cool people around the different galleries too. Don't forget the bunch of new restaurants, plus the food trucks either! Sure, parking can be an adventure and / or overpriced ($10 for an unimproved lot where my "Eleanor" gets dirty?? ) But what would a hot night in the city be without a little adventure!
