Of course we impulse bought them because we need Christmas candles :) Once at the register with all of our items (the candles and items for the mask), they automatically scanned a 25% off coupon they had sitting by the register. We saved almost $15 that trip! The one thing I really love about michaels is that there's always an active coupon to use! If you don't have a physical one, then search Google and find a digital one. Jayson was also willing to work around vanities we already purchased. He even came in on a Saturday to allow us to pick our bathroom products which really helped with our schedules. Our bath remodels were quite small jobs, yet the promised timeline of 9 weeks turned into an 8-month project. The only step of our construction remodel that went smoothly was the electrician. Each day posed one problem after another. The demolition took a lot of time due to only one man doing the demolition and our home was left a mess. Next, the plumbers pulled the old tub, toilets, and sinks and left them in our driveway which blocked the entrance to our garage. We asked for a full wall to be turned into a pony wall and that simple framing was crooked. Shower walls were hung with the wrong color product, the bathroom counter was installed with the wrong product altogether and did not match the incorrect shower wall product. Once the counter material was changed to match the shower wall, a JH worker used acid in our new sink and ruined the countertop. The third countertop was installed crooked and scratched (we finally gave up) and our brand new floor tile grout had to be dyed because 3 different attempts to get the grout the correct color failed. In our master bath, the first tile installation resulted in a non-flush surface, uneven grout lines, and varying tile sizes. It truly looked like preschool students had installed the tile. This resulted in having to re-tile and place a layer of tile on top of the poorly laid tile. Upon paying our final installation to JH construction the tile grout began to change colors, the caulk from the shower started peeling away from the shower walls, and currently, all the grout around the perimeter of our shower is cracked and needs to be fully re-grouted. Now, the caulk is also coming off of the perimeter of our sink. Each day of this remodel was a nightmare. Twenty-six thousand dollars later, the brand new remodel looks like it needs to be remodeled.

Capital City Antique Mall came up in my search (well there was another but they are closed on Tuesdays), and I was very pleased to find that they were in a large warehouse with plenty of vendors. That just means tons of cool stuff to scour through! And indeed there was plenty of artifacts and fun finds to take my time perusing! There were a few items that I wanted but couldn't purchase for the sake of space or other reasons, but they were absolutely beautiful. The photos I've shared below are only scratching the surface of the gamut of items that you can find at the antique mall. I ended up purchasing some small items to add to my shelf of collectibles at home, including my very first glass insulator. The staff are nice and everything is quite reasonably priced compared to CA antique stores. We will definitely be revisiting Capital City Antique Mall the next time we are in SLC!

Critical- Again, most of the clothes looked like they were just bought from a thrift store to be resold. Many prices weren't marked on racks. And cash only entrance, so I had to pull money out of the ATM, which costed me more than the $3 admission fee.

LIke everything else here, this area is changing, and the flea moved about two years ago. When I visited the location at the Gateway, it didn't even seem like the same market. First, they charge an admission fee. Everything is also very spread out among the gateway buildings and outside areas. Many more booths with clothing that was more flea and less vintagey. Hardly any really unique booths. A few of the older vendors you might recognize, but the vibe is just very different.

I love this place. Their prices are amazing for the quality of frames they offer and as a professional photographer I refer all my clients to them when asking where the best place locally to get frames is at. Its a Ma and Pa ran operation which you dont see to many of anymore, they do a good job and are friendly and fast. You will not be disappointed on framing anything there. My husband got my wedding ring made at Bryson's Rock Shop last year prior to our ceremony. It was almost 400 dollars for the jeweler there (I can't remember his name; he speaks broken English) to create the band and set the stones... Even though he had the size plus another ring to go off of, the ring was too large and slid in every photo we took at the ceremony. Three months later I went to have it cleaned and the jeweler said my stones were not set correctly so he couldn't use the ultrasonic machine to clean it. Three months after that, my center stone (a one carat black diamond) almost fell out, sinking down into the setting in a way I didn't think possible. Thankfully my husband told me the jeweler said he would size it or fix it if anything went wrong... I went in today to see if he could fix it, no rush needed. I was talking with a lovely lady who worked there, moments away from spending at least one to two hundred dollars on a moldavite ring or stone, when I decided to not support a business which does not back its sellers and craftsmen under their name. David didn't give me the time of day and wouldn't even talk about fixing his mistake for less than $30. He could have said $5 and i still would've walked. With the way the world is, can't we agree we should only support people who have pride in their work and honor their word? Now I have to find someone else who will touch his work, which is done quite unconventionally. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS MAN. He does not care about you, or about the value of his word, or the impact your piece of jewelry you commissioned him to make has on you. I have recommended this store to dozens of people over the past year; I will now turn it into telling everyone to not support them.
