I walked in during my lunch break with my brand new, yet broken glasses (purchased elsewhere). My Rayban glasses were poorly designed with tiny screws that kept falling out. Steve was able to alter the glasses and add new screws to prevent future issues. I was in and out within 10 minutes and was only charged $5! The guys at Framedoctors introduced me to a brand I wasn't aware of called Kaenon. After trying them on, they were the sunglasses I'd been looking for. I brought two pair of eye glasses: one pair had a broken side hinge and the screw was stripped and the other was a brand new pair that I bought from Warby Parkers that needed to be adjusted to fit my face. Okay time for me to put my two cents in. A long time ago there was a Frame Doctor near Wishon and Shields. I had gone there twice. After a few years I looked for the business but found it had closed. By accident I found that a new FrameDoctors had opened a mile away from where I lived. I have been to this business at least three times, each time the staff was very professional and upfront about what could be done. This time which was 9/5/2015 on a Saturday called and found they would be closing at 3pm. It was already 1:45 pm. So I rush down with two pairs of glasses, one which had a screw stripped and another pair which needed to be re threaded. One pair had one lens in and the other three lenses were out. Luckily for me the frames though a different color were the same style. I was told it would be 30 to 45 min and cost $30.00 ($15.00) for each pair. I went back a half hour later and they were ready in pristine condition. I cannot tell you how much this business provides a needed service to those on Medi-Cal or those who have to pay out of pocket for their eye wear and have metal frames that are broken. I recommend this business to any one who wears glasses and cannot find any one to repair them. read more

i have a pair of ray bans that i absolutely adore. silly me, i thought it'd be a good idea to take them to vegas. HA. the positive is, while i may have destroyed my dignity in vegas, i did not destroy the glasses, but bent the frame on one side. completely. i took them back to sunglass hut, on the off chance they might be able to fix them...they didnt, but suggested i take them here. months later, i finally decided to take them in ready to pay (almost) any price to get my best pair back. i walked in, told the young guy my problem, & he inspected them. He tells me, oh so casually, "no problem, it'll take me 2 minutes" then warns me that it may not work, but he has to tell everyone that, but he was pretty confident he could repair them. It seriously took him 2 minutes. he came out, hands me my glasses back, looking shiny & good as new. NO CHARGE. he didnt charge me! i was in such shock i didnt know what to say but, "thank you sooo much!" a lot. So awesome! I'll definitely be recommending this business to as many people as i can. They do have a small selection of sunglasses to buy, including designer shades, like Vera Wang, Gucci, etc. They were having a pretty good clearance sale on them too - I'm pretty sure some of them had $100 bucks off. I bought new glasses for my dad a few months ago and they became very loose. I took them back and was told that they were beyond repair and I had to buy brand new frames! At 1st when I had called to get an estimate I was told from a price range Is to another Price range giving me a estimate When I got there I was told one and a 1/2 hours When I got there I was told 1 and 1/2 hours so when I showed up to pick up my glasses I was told they were not ready so I waited another half hour finally they were ready Even though they had more people in front of me they still got mine done at the time frame they had told me I had got my glasses from IQ vision center and they were supposed to be titanium flicis titanium Flex glasses But the nose part broke off it actually snapped in half so much that they are titanium they are titanium The people there were really nice the guy who worked on mine was the name of Steve And I truly appreciate all that they have done And they also gave me a discount of $5 for having to come back the 2nd time And they also gave me a discount of $5 for having to come back the 2nd time I will definitely be sending more people there if I could I will give you 10 stars read more

I'm super blessed to have found these guys on Yelp ! I had a new pair of glasses that were destroyed due to unfortunate circumstances , but my lens were super thick (I have terrible eye sight) , so I was able to salvage them . I wasn't looking to spend a few hundreds for a new pair , especially since my insurance had changed during all of this , so I stopped by this shop . The man who helped me (forgive me for forgetting your name) took down some information as to what I was looking for , and how my old pair might have looked . He was unsure whether he'd be able to find a matching frame , and told me he'd give me a call . Within 30 minutes , I received a call saying my new pair was ready . I was surprised ! I came back to pick them up , and was charged less than 100 for everything . Labor and replacement . They are totally worth a visit ! read more

Not only was their courtesy great, they looked at my broken metal frames and knew right away that they could repair the broken hinge... and it is a spring hinge. They said they would "weld" it back together, clean it up, and it would be stronger than it was before... and the spring would still function. They charged me $35 and it was done in an hour. You canNot tell anything was broken before or that any work has been done to the frames. Their work was immaculate. My glasses look just as good as they did when I got them. I'm impressed and so relieved! read more

One lens has popped out of my Oakley prescription sunglasses a couple of times. I took them to an Oakley store to fix, but it still happened. I have now had two successful visits with FrameDoctors. The first time I went in, my prescription reading glasses were broken. They were repaired immediately, right on the spot, and for an amount that I thought was beyond reasonable. I tend to be distrustful of so many business now, because so many take advantage of ordinary people. Finally, one of the few that does business right! You go in, and they will tell you what you need, how much time it will take, and what the cost is. The second time I went in, just a few days ago, my Ray Bans had a broken lens. I am not someone to just buy a new pair if I think I can salvage an older pair. Although the model of my Ray Bans is more obscure, they had a set of the lenses! I was so surprised. This time, it was more expensive, but it still saved me a lot of money over getting a new pair. On top of that, the lenses they used were polarized, so I walked out of the store with much better visibility than before. I see that a few people have not been happy with their customer service experience. I really cannot imagine why. I do think some people are overly sensitive or having a bad day. My experience has been absolutely first rate. This is actually one of my favorite businesses in town. I am not surprised that they are still in business and that their rating is so high. They weren't able to repair my glasses because the break was at the frame of the lens, but the glasses technician was very honest and helpful with advice. They offered to order new frames at a reasonable price and discount along with popping the lenses back into the new frame for free. I have used Frame Doctors in Fresno several times in the past 5 or 6 years and have only been slightly disappointed one time. Recently I tried to reorder some lens wipes I have come to depend on and they were out of stock. I had to go back a couple of times, but finally got them. I bought 2 boxes and the owner only charged me for one because he knew I had been trying to get them! While I didn't expect any special treatment, I was impressed and grateful! Wow great service. Andrew was great not only took the time to clean my sunglasses but fitted them on me to sit straight on my face. I just came in for the missing silicone nose pieces. He could have just gave me my glasses back but instead had me try them on and fitted them for me that is going above what is expected. I will definitely come back for my sunglasses repair. While I was there a guy came In with completely busted glasses and they were able to weld his glasses back for 35 bucks. This place is inexpensive, quality work, and surprisingly fast.
