This is my second purchase from Bleusalt, and it definitely won't be my last. They've earned a loyal customer. We were instantly greeted in a very friendly manner and was checked in on while we looked around. Not too pushy, so that was nice. The clothing and bags all looked flawless and everything was very well organized. They had statement pieces and classics. The price tags were still pretty steep. After a truly awful experience at the Studio City Crossroads, I have to give credit where credit is…read moredue: the Santa Monica Blvd/West Hollywood location is basically the EXACT opposite. This location is organized, efficient, and actually knows how to move people through the selling process. The employees seem to have defined roles, the buyers are able to actually BUY without the entire operation grinding to a halt, and even when they're busy, things move. The difference between this location and Studio City is honestly night and day. Same company, same basic business model, completely different execution. The staff here are also friendly and professional without the weird too-cool-for-you attitude I encountered at Studio City. Nobody acts like they're doing you a favor by acknowledging you. They just do their jobs, keep things moving, and somehow manage to create a much more pleasant experience in the process. I've sold here multiple times and this location consistently feels well run. After seeing how chaotic and inefficient another Crossroads can be, I appreciate this one even more. If you're deciding which Crossroads to sell to in LA, skip Studio City and come to the Santa Monica Blvd location. It's not even a comparison.

Unfortunately, the result was really disappointing. The stitching was uneven, the seams were crooked, there were loose threads everywhere, and there were even new holes that weren't there before. It looked poorly done overall and definitely not worth the price. I went back to let them know I wasn't happy, expecting at least a conversation or a chance to fix it. Instead, ANA became defensive, raised her voice, and dismissed everything I was saying. At one point, she actually started ripping apart the seams of the jeans in front of me, which was shocking and made the situation feel even more aggressive and unprofessional. It ended with her throwing money at me and telling me to go somewhere else to fix the seams she ripped apart. I wouldn't recommend bringing anything valuable or sentimental here, especially vintage pieces. Actually the most horrible experience. The other employees made it clear this happens often.

The space is airy and bright, with just one central structure of freeform plaster, rebar, and white paint that really calls back to the old Martin Margiela deconstructivist aesthetic of yore. Today's house, under the direction of John Galliano, is best summed up as Margiela, but not Martin. I'm not going to go into whether it's good or bad; as with Alexander McQueen and Moschino and other such brands whose founders left strong, idiosyncratic marks, it is what it is. For what it is, Maison Margiela on Melrose Place a beautiful store with great staff, and it was a pleasure to wander the space looking at some really well-made, beautiful pieces.
