Biggest rip-off in Marin County, maybe the USA, for framing a print. Charged me almost $1,000.00, including using plexiglass, which was a mistake. Another shop in Marin (AC Graphics) charged me 2/3 less for a similarly sized print with similar matting and frame using art glass. AC Graphics literally had it done in one day. Frame Crafters took 7 weeks, and that was with frequent phone calls to check when it would be completed. Unless you're super wealthy and money and lousy service is no concern of yours, avoid this place like the plague!! read more

Frame Crafters was a great choice for the project my boss had in mind. He had an old photograph that had bubbling and needed a new backing on the frame. Tim suggested I take the old photo to Image Flow in San Anselmo for a digital photo and some photo restoration of the image. When I got the new photo back I returned to Tim for the framing. Tim has a variety of regular glass and a museum glass. I ended up choosing a museum acrylic because the picture is going to be mailed and it's safer to send than glass. The new acrylic, backing, spacers, and hanging wire all together came to $245. I paid a deposit by phone of $125. This is a great place to get the best of the best. read more

We came here to get one of my boyfriend's late mom's paintings custom framed. It was a very sentimental process and we were really nervous about handing off something so irreplaceable to strangers to handle. The owner of the shop showed us a wide selection of frames that would match the aesthetic of the painting, and we found something really unique that we loved. The price we were quoted was in the low 400s, but we were able to snag $60 off with the Yelp check-in deal. The painting came back in under 4 weeks (which was the quoted time) and looked phenomenal! While I'm not sure we will always be able to splurge on custom framing, it was well worth it to preserve this particular piece!! read more

Some things in life are rushed. Quality framing is not one of those things. Come here with your projects, give them the time they need, and leave with a huge smile on your face. They set a tapestry for me, and reframed a very large piece - both exceptionally done. read more

TOP Notch Service! I went in there this afternoon to look at a few picture frames and get a picture hook installed on one of my frames. They charged me an incredibly reasonable price and turned it around very fast. It's already hanging in my home! Thanks, Frame Crafters. read more

They are incredible here, and make sure you are happy with the result. I had picked out a frame and the total was a bit steep, so they helped me pick a slightly more affordable frame, and cut down a few hundred $ to make it within budget. They can do anything, I would highly recommend supporting this great local business! read more

This store did lovely custom work framing a vintage artwork. The piece is double-sided but they were able to make a double frame that allows the back of the piece to be viewed. Good communication and explanation of pricing and options. We are definitely bringing more work to be framed. read more

I had a shadow box done of my grandson's art for his dad for Father's Day. Beautiful work and completed on time as promised.

While this may be premature, as I only brought my projects in today, I was incredibly impressed by Krista and her associate's friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. I have no eye for design, but brought in projects that had emotional meaning for me, and was so impressed by the time, care and expertise shown for making the most of my little items. They also respected my budget and asked perceptive questions to make the most of the end result. Because they are so good, they were also honest that my hoped-for deadline might not be possible, but agreed to try, which was very kind. I'm not young, so not at all new to framing, and this is one of the best experiences I've had, hands down. read more

FrameCrafters Gallery is located near Mollie Stones in the Bon Aire Center in Greenbrae, and they are beyond fantastic at what they do. Krista and Tim are perfectionists and give a full service world class experience when it comes to selecting, constructing and creating a magnificent frame for your most cherished pieces. They do precision, museum quality work when it counts for the most cherished, custom art pieces---even working in very large sizes if need be. The space is gorgeous and spacious and their new work area allows them to do many projects at once, while they do not lose track of the details of any one. The gallery has a vast selection of choices, from the quality everyday items and basic frame choices one would normally expect, to the most elaborate, elegant and custom frame choices that will cover most any decor. Krista and Tim and their staff give their customers a rare experience with their professionalism, care and assurance. Krista has been in business here for 30 plus years and our community is so lucky to have her and her staff for our artistic framing needs. read more

We had five paintings framed at top price and although they came out looking nice the owner Christa did not want to follow thru to the end as originally agreed and individually wrap the items in plastic. Instead she talked about how over worked she is and she would show me how to wrap them instead. She was hostile and rude which surprised me since it took her 2 minutes to finish the job. I recommend you only pay 1/2 up front and the rest when the job is completed per agreement. read more

I came in with a large framed photograph that needed repair. The photo had come unattached from the mat board and backing was in bad shape. Gil gave it a thorough inspection and gave me a very reasonable price to get it repaired and suitable to hang. This wasn't some fine art-quality photo, just an enlargement of a sentimental photo in an inexpensive frame with plastic (not glass). I mention this because although this was not an expensive "piece", Gil treated it as though it were. He didn't make any snide remarks about the inexpensive frame or poor quality backing, he didn't try to up-sell a new frame or glass. He was very respectful and more than willing to get it repaired at a reasonable cost. It was completed sooner than expected and when I picked it up I was thrilled to see that it looked so much nicer. Same frame, same mat board, new backing and hanger. Just what I wanted and ready to install! read more

I was pleased with the job that Krista did on our artwork. I came in based on a referral from a friend, and I found the Yelp! deal online. Although the piece took longer than initially quoted, the wait was worth it. I also appreciate the follow-up thank you card. Details like this make a difference in our retail experiences. Thanks for that nicety! read more

I had a piece of glass I needed cut to fit the frame I had. I took it here and he did it, and didn't charge me! This is particularly great since I had just taken it to a cheap place in San Rafael who wouldn't do it since the glass might have a "memory," whatever that means. read more

My secret name for the manager here is "the Master Framer", as I have never been disappointed in a piece. I usually walk in with my artwork having no idea what to do and they always give me an array of choices that make my artwork look more awesome than it really is. If i had an unlimited budget i would always always choose the museum glass - I am totally intrigued by it (it has no glare, it doesn't even look like there is glass there). I have had about 4 pieces done in the last 3 years and am happy with all of them! read more

I needed an impossibly fast turnover of a framing job. Truly last minute. Krista took it in stride. These guys did a great job with framing a cherished photo of ours, but also a terrific job of customer service. I kept forgetting to pick up my frame, and they ended up holding it for me for twelve months. I got a few friendly reminders (with absolutely no impatience or annoyance shown by them), just to ask if I still wanted the frame. Each time I apologized for forgetting to come in and subsequently forgot again to pick up my frame. I give myself ZERO stars as a customer, and Frame Crafters FIVE STARS for their patient and friendly treatment of a guy who obviously has creeping dementia. read more
