I've used the local Frame Central on Cornell for years with special framing projects. They have a strong attention to detail & dedication to get things done in a manner that will ensure the object will look great for many years. I have a signed jersey & some other sports memorabilia on my office wall that always get compliments, & all were done here. Most recently I had a set of season tickets for my favorite sports team (go Timbers!) that I hoped to get stuck onto foam core, signed by the players, & then nicely matted & framed. I knew this was right up their alley. When I discussed the project with the Store Manager, Kara, she informed me that I might be disappointed with the results of doing this the normal way, as she'd read that tickets could be damaged in the heat used in the process. She said she'd research what other options might produce better results, & get back to me. A few days later I got a message that she'd found and ordered a different type of foam core that didn't need heat & should work great. Long story short we went that route & I couldn't be happier with the results. Once I get the signatures I'll be back to finish the job. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a project that's important to me. read more

This store and the employees helped me make a Christmas gift dream come true!! I had a huge framing project that I wanted done last minute ( imagine that ladies ) for a Christmas present to my wife. The team at Frame Central stepped up and saved me! I brought my wife's doctorate, cap and gown and some graduation pictures and they put it all together, laid it out in different ways so I had some options and then framed it beautifully! The attention to detail from the frame to glass, background colors and lay out was on point and exceeded my expectations. When I presented this masterpiece that they even custom gift wrapped for me, to my wife on Christmas day, the tears she had seeing all her years of hard work encapsulated in perfection was absolutely priceless! If I could post a video of it...and not get skinned for it , I would! They framed a moment that will last in our hearts forever. 14 years ago, on what amounted to a "first date", Mrs. Brian I. had to bum some money from me. Specifically, she needed money to take the ferry back over to Bainbridge Island from downtown Seattle, where I lived. I gave her a twenty, we shared our first kiss and parted ways. About a week later I got an envelope in the mail. It contained a check in the amount of 20 dollars. I never cashed it. I never even endorsed it. Honestly, I thought it would be cool, at the time, to keep it as a memento of her, because she lived in Portland at the time. Little did I realize that the check's significance in our lives as that memento would increase substantially as the years passed. So, the check has survived in various places (incredibly intact) from 1997 until now. It was in my wallet for years, until I came to the realization that it should probably be better protected. For the past 3 or so years, I've kept it in a plastic folder in my day planner. Last year, on May 1st, 2010, we finally got married. Recently, one of our close friends suggested that I frame the check and present it to my wife on our first wedding anniversary (4 days from this writing). Enter... Frame Central! A quick search on Yelp (duh, where else would I start?!) yielded a frame shop conveniently located for me. I had the opportunity to swing by around lunchtime today. I was instantly greeted by an employee who stopped what he was doing to help me. I was grateful, for more than a few reasons. Not the least of which was the sheer volume of available frames in the store. Seriously, everything from the smallest frame you could imagine (including my check) to shadow boxes for sporting memorabilia... they've got it. Anyway, he took plenty of time to show me a few options, including varying sizes of frames (I settled on a thick, black 8x10 frame) and matting options. Once I'd picked the matting, he measured the check carefully and whisked the matting off. Approximately 30 seconds later he returned to the desk with a perfectly formed mat board. Toss in an 8x10 easel and the grand total came to $22 and change. Entirely reasonable. All told the whole visit took maybe 15 minutes, and that's stretching it. Granted, my needs for picture frames and mat boards are few and far in between, but at least I know where I'll be going for those needs. Now, and in the future. To bring it full circle... I should have done my homework and walked out after the quote. They charged roughly $200 for a 1'x2.5' canvas painting to be stretched, not even framed. Customer service = A+ Quality of work = A+ Competitive rates = F Learn from me and do your homework when it comes to this specific situation. I cannot recommend this shop enough. Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable, I was so grateful. From frame recommendations to matte to glass vs. acrylic, they were great. I had a family heirloom, a photograph that had suffered some damage over the years that I wanted to preserve. I gave them my concerns and took their advice and I couldn't have been more thrilled. The photograph looks perfect and will be well preserved for generations to come. I also had a first edition magazine that was in near perfect condition that I wanted to maintain but have framed. I have to share my experience with Bethany Frame Central and Natalee. I have an artifact that I wanted framed in a shadow box. I went to a company that is closing their doors late July. I had a gentlemen help me and gave me an ungodly price even with the 60% off. WHAT A JOKE. So I went to Frame Central and Natalee help me, I told her what I wanted, just like I did with the other place. She was so helpful and told me she could do the same ideas and saved me over half the price. She saved me over $189.00 for the same idea, I was amazed. Super nice ladies in the store. Immediately greeted me, but then let me roam around to look at everything. Once I asked my question, knew exactly how to help me. I brought in a print on canvas to put hardware on to hang it. I asked if I could watcher her do it so I could try to figure it out myself on my next one, but she also talked me through the process. Kara was the Bees Knees! I'm a first time arts and crafts-er, so when I went in to Frame Central with the intention to make a shadow box for my Dad's 70th birthday I was extremely overwhelmed. I was greeted by Kara, she took me under her wing and didn't let go until the project was finished. It was a complete relief! She took me through step by step, told me what products I needed, where I could purchase them, and how to properly apply them. Frame Central constructed the shadow box and I was able to fill it with all his mementos. The project turned out great and I have Kara and the staff at Frame Central to thank for that! Side note, it was 1/2 the price of another frame shop competitor in the area which made the process all the more juicy! On top of that, their turnaround time on December 21st (Christmas rush) was a matter of 6 hours. I would have been royally screwed if it wasn't for Kara and the team at Frame Central! A-fricking-mazing!! I stumbled in here after I realized I was in over my head with this frame job. A lady at Michaels recommended them because they have well priced options. You can either do the whole framing yourself, have them do the whole thing, or any combination in between. I had multiple pictures and an engraving to frame to commemorate my hisband's 20+ years in the movie industry. This was a very special and heartfelt gift for his 40th. The lady, Natalie, who helped me was just incredible. I had everything sketched out with colors inputted got the matting and frame. After looking it over her face brightened and she grabbed a beautiful silver frame and black and silver matting. Not what I had initially wanted but I trusted her judgment. I'm SO GLAD I trusted her judgement!!! The matting and frame looked beautiful.... I was absolutely blown away. When I showed my husband he was speechless and a bit choked up. Everyone that comes in to our house now stops to admire her work. So I owe Natalie a huge thank you and highly recommend anyone work with her. An artist and a true professional!! Price wise it was on point also. Anywhere you go where you will have multiple mats, a frame, and hand cut work will be more expensive than buying something off the shell. But it's so worth it! I paid less here than past custom framing jobs so all in all....incredibly happy. read more
