Variety and we cut them so we can all try some of each

It's not a beach trip unless you go to Fractued Prune! So good and little dude likes watching them make his donuts!

Great donuts. Walked to go get them and were still hot and fresh by the time we arrived back for the family. I love how they have so many unique flavors.

    Price!

The PRICES have gotten out of control. I understand inflation but this is beyond out of hand!! The service was so slow and there were only 2 people in front of me. I have been going from Day 1 and they have priced themselves out of the market. No more lines out the door. The guy tossing my doughnuts like basketball shots for toppings. The doughnuts are still great tasting. But customer service and prices are now Over The TOP!! Thanks for the memories as these are not that good for that price!! I'm so disappointed.

This is the TRUE Fractured Prune stop! We absolutely love this place!! It's been part of a family tradition to stop here with my grandfather when I visit for the past 10 years!! We plan to continue the tradition of stopping at THIS Fractured Prune for many years to come! They have AMAZING donuts! If they had a shop in New York we would have their donuts at our wedding! Side Note: (We went to a DIFFERENT Fractured Prune once at 36383 Lighthouse Rd. thinking it would be the same quality donuts, but we were TERRIBLY mistaken. Would not recommend THAT Fractured Prune. We will ONLY go to the BEST Fractured Prune which is THIS ONE!)

WOW, WOW, WOW! Fractured Prune is as good as hot doughnuts can get. I have never experienced doughnuts the way the Fractured Prune does it. I don't know if I can go back eating room temperature doughnuts after this. So, the doughnuts come out HOT and covered in whatever glaze and toppings you choose. They have options for you to choose from or you can create your own. Customer service was great, they were very patient with us as we were so excited, haha. If you pick up doughnuts to take them home, they recommend popping them in the microwave for ultimate enjoyment. These doughnuts are a doughnut lovers dream!

Awesome doughnuts, great service. Like the whole playing card as you order ticket for pickup (3 of clubs). Cool funky vide

So I have hid a wall with donut shops. It was a great run but I think that they are over now. Fractured prune. I think I just a run of the mill donut shop. One base donut and a thousand toppings. Seen it before and it it's all the same. Donut was fine. Service was decent. Line was out the door for a basic average donut. I don't know what else to say.

There wasn't a lot of glaze on the donuts, so they didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. There was also some oil saturated on the bottom of the donuts. I liked the density and how cake-y they were and it was nice to have fresh, hot donuts.

Great donuts and truth be told if I hadn't recently gone to Sidecar Donuts in Newport Beach, CA, I probably would've given them a higher rating. The donuts themselves are pretty good, probably on par with Krispy Cream Donuts. What sets aside Punctured Prune, besides the fact that they cook the donuts fresh when ordered, is the dipping options they have, giving so many different flavor options. We ordered a French Toast, Lemonade, Rolo, Key Lime Pie, Carnival, and Blueberry. All good and listed in order of personal preference. All the donuts were packed up and served to us warm.

We got a half dozen donuts. Two sprinkled donuts, one blueberries hill, salted Carmel, ocean beach sand and a plain maple donut. Donuts were warm and tasty. The customer service was subpar.

They literally make the donut when you order it...what more do you need? Oddly a block away was Dunkin and they were packed while the Prune was empty. Makes no sense to me. Tasty goodness!

I've been going to Ocean City, MD for as long as I can remember. And for just as long, I've been…read morehearing people rave about Fractured Prune donuts. How many times, in my entire life, had I actually tried one? Zero. But I was determined to change that during my solo birthday adventure to Ocean City this year. My first Fractured Prune donut in 41 years...I was more excited than I probably should have been. For those unfamiliar, Fractured Prune has been an Ocean City staple since 1976 and is known for letting you build your own donut masterpiece--starting with a hot, fresh donut and customizing it with glazes and toppings however you like. No pre-made rows of donuts here--just pure, creative, donut freedom. Since I was visiting in March (aka off-season), I wasn't even sure I'd get my chance. But I was thrilled to find this location open until 12pm on Saturdays. PERFECT. I got up early, watched the sunrise, and made my way over to finally experience the hype. I had studied the menu ahead of time because I knew if I didn't, I'd stand at the counter forever trying to decide. I landed on one donut--a Banana Nut Bread creation (banana glaze, cinnamon sugar, peanuts). I was attempting to show some level of restraint during a weekend that was otherwise...not about restraint. I walked in around 9:30am on a beautiful March Saturday and found a small crowd already inside. Clearly, even in the off-season, people know where to go. I placed my order, paid my $3.57, and asked if they had stickers as a little keepsake from my birthday trip. They were out, but the kind gentleman behind the counter offered me a magnet instead--which I happily accepted. A few minutes later, my number was called, and I was handed a purple box that felt...surprisingly heavy for one donut. I took it out to my car, opened the box, and immediately started to cry. I was on a solo birthday trip--my first one in a long time--and while I was doing my best to fill it with fun and new experiences, there was definitely a bittersweet edge to it. Inside the box weren't just my one donut--but two extra donuts and a handwritten "Happy Birthday!!" on the lid. It was such a small gesture, but it meant everything in that moment. It made me feel seen. It made me feel celebrated. And honestly, it made my entire day. The kindness of the people working there didn't have to exist--but it did, and it mattered. After I pulled myself together (and stopped crying over my donuts), I finally took a bite. I get it now. I fully get the hype. The donut was incredible--served warm, soft, moist, and perfectly cakey, with the banana glaze, cinnamon sugar, and peanuts all working together in the best possible way. It took serious self-control not to demolish all three donuts right there in the car. I'm not even sure I've ever had a truly fresh, hot donut before this--but if this is the standard, Fractured Prune has set the bar very high. For $3.57, this was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time--and eating it in the sunshine during my birthday adventure is a memory I won't forget anytime soon. Logistically, it's easy: free parking in a nearby strip mall, quick ordering, and fast service. Just note--there's no indoor seating. You grab your donuts and go...which honestly isn't a bad thing when "go" can mean taking them to the beach just a few minutes away. Fractured Prune is officially on my "must-do every time I'm in Ocean City" list. And next time? I'm not pretending I'm only getting one donut!

$20 for six donuts that were hot and moist--but somehow still disgusting. Just not good.read more

My husband whispered "This place was on the food network". I'm not surprised. The menu is bizarre. You can get a burger or chicken or egg on your donuts. Bleh. Even the donut donuts were over the top... like 5 toppings. But the family got a dozen (everyone else got like 1-2 donuts each and a lot of people were ordering their soft serve ice cream which we didn't try). Here are our reviews: 11 yr old: Score 3/10. They were OK. 13 yr old: Score 8/10. I liked them! Runner up to Fractured Prune. 54 yr old: Score 7/10. I liked them OK, a little better than Fractured Prune but I'm really a Dunkin man. 46 yr old: Score 1/10. Bleh. Like Bleh when I looked at the menu and BLEH when I looked at the donuts. I tried a couple pieces of a couple of them, and not one was enticing enough to actually desire to eat the whole thing. I'm a KK or DD fan too, and I only like 2 donuts made by FP, and they are the plainer ones. Note... they will do custom donuts, so if their suggestions are over the top, tell them what you want. They are cake donuts and there is a toppings bar (think: Subway) where you chose your glaze and toppings, and they make it in front of you. My issue was that sprinkles were in glazes, glazes in sugar, and it was all very messy. It kinda grossed me out. And there you have it. It's a novelty.
