Fractured Prune is an OG donut / beach staple. The donuts always meet my expectations. At this particular location, I was a little turned off by the two staff members making the donuts. Even though both sides could clear see each other, the staff had no problem throwing the donuts in the dressing from far away like a game, or by laughing and aggressive dumping our donuts into the sauces. It's not a big deal, but it felt a little disrespectful / weird to see our food getting played with like that lol. read more

This place was recommended to me by another Fear Yelpie Elite Friend. So happy I swing by before heading home and brought these back to the family. Many great flavors ready to choose from Or you can customize. The best part of it all is that they are deep fried, come out nice and hot and then dipped in the topping of your choice. They are ready to melt in your mouth!! They didn't in mine since they had a good 6 hour to go lol and weren't eaten right away!! Lol but when they were I was told they could have eaten the whole box at once. They were that good!! It's worth what you pay, it's something different. Staff was very friendly too! They do open nice early which is nice. In Maryland they have quite a few of these locations as you drive. read more

Okay... up front this 5 Star review speaks volumes of my love of these donuts and the sad truth that I am limited to annual consumption sprees during road trips to visit Family in VA. If someone could guarantee me that I could have 2 dozen of the spectacular make to order your way donuts one a year, but I would have to give up all other donuts throughout the year.... I would jump all over it. I absolutely enjoy these donuts... I mean come on......MAKE TO ORDER donuts with the toppings and glazed your way. Sure, they have almost 2 dozen house recipes that are wonderful, there's nothing better than mixing and matching to create your own favorite donut. For me it's maple glaze with bacon and chocolate chips....heaven served in a warm donut. PERFECT!!!! read more

Of course you must visit any one of the numerous Fractured Prune donut shops when in OCMD. The donuts are a basic cake style, and you choose toppings for different flavor explosions in your mouth. I love the banana nut flavored donuts. The strawberry shortcake donut is another favorite. The prunella donut aligns with the donut chains' name. The establishment's name has a cute origin story, so be sure to check into it. There are fun t-shirts and other logo'd items for purchase. Membership has its perks such as a donut a day and special offers. This place is a favorite for kids of all ages who get to "create" their own freshly warmed donut delight. read more

The PRICES have gotten out of control. I understand inflation but this is beyond out of hand!! The service was so slow and there were only 2 people in front of me. I have been going from Day 1 and they have priced themselves out of the market. No more lines out the door. The guy tossing my doughnuts like basketball shots for toppings. The doughnuts are still great tasting. But customer service and prices are now Over The TOP!! Thanks for the memories as these are not that good for that price!! I'm so disappointed. read more

This is the TRUE Fractured Prune stop! We absolutely love this place!! It's been part of a family tradition to stop here with my grandfather when I visit for the past 10 years!! We plan to continue the tradition of stopping at THIS Fractured Prune for many years to come! They have AMAZING donuts! If they had a shop in New York we would have their donuts at our wedding! Side Note: (We went to a DIFFERENT Fractured Prune once at 36383 Lighthouse Rd. thinking it would be the same quality donuts, but we were TERRIBLY mistaken. Would not recommend THAT Fractured Prune. We will ONLY go to the BEST Fractured Prune which is THIS ONE!) read more

WOW, WOW, WOW! Fractured Prune is as good as hot doughnuts can get. I have never experienced doughnuts the way the Fractured Prune does it. I don't know if I can go back eating room temperature doughnuts after this. So, the doughnuts come out HOT and covered in whatever glaze and toppings you choose. They have options for you to choose from or you can create your own. Customer service was great, they were very patient with us as we were so excited, haha. If you pick up doughnuts to take them home, they recommend popping them in the microwave for ultimate enjoyment. These doughnuts are a doughnut lovers dream! read more

Was excited originally to visit this restaurant and the prices are great but the donuts are small and they don't have a ton of flavor so there was a bit of disappointment there. We are big foodies and are big on flavor so probably won't be coming back on my next visit read more

So I have hid a wall with donut shops. It was a great run but I think that they are over now. Fractured prune. I think I just a run of the mill donut shop. One base donut and a thousand toppings. There wasn't a lot of glaze on the donuts, so they didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. There was also some oil saturated on the bottom of the donuts. I liked the density and how cake-y they were and it was nice to have fresh, hot donuts. read more

Great donuts and truth be told if I hadn't recently gone to Sidecar Donuts in Newport Beach, CA, I probably would've given them a higher rating. The donuts themselves are pretty good, probably on par with Krispy Cream Donuts. What sets aside Punctured Prune, besides the fact that they cook the donuts fresh when ordered, is the dipping options they have, giving so many different flavor options. We ordered a French Toast, Lemonade, Rolo, Key Lime Pie, Carnival, and Blueberry. All good and listed in order of personal preference. All the donuts were packed up and served to us warm. read more

Donuts are great hot but I think they are super messy.. not worth the price in my opinion.

The staff was friendly enough but the donut just didn't do it for me. It was very thick. And the toppings were minimal. I just expected more for a donut that cost almost $3. I would skip it next time. read more

These are heavenly. Mom and I stopped in at about 730am? I had an OC Sand ( honey glazed with cinnamon sugar) and a lemonade stand ( lemon glaze/granulated sugar). Mom had a OC Buzz, (chocolate glaze and coffee/oreo crumbs?) The donuts are hot and delicious. They have a bunch of flavors or you can design your own, pick a glaze, topping or sugar to dip in. The place was pretty busy and quite popular. So popular a bird flew in the store twice! Poor guy, he just wanted a donut. ( he wasn't a seagull! I loathe seagulls!) This place is good, not my favorite donut shop in the world, but I give them crazy props for two things... 1- they have some awesomely thoughtful concoctions that make you scratch your head but are rather tasty. 2- I have seen girls eat their donuts and make faces and body movements that are not quite G rated. Girls can't seem to get enough of them. For my taste however, they are a little too greasy for my liking. read more

While on a quick weekend family getaway to Ocean City Maryland, I really wanted some doughnuts Sunday morning. I yelped Fractured Prune beforehand and it was a perfect time to try some, plus the 17 minute walk from the hotel could couldn't hurt. Fractured Prune's doughnuts are made to order on the spot (you can actually see the workers cook them) and this means you get a freshly fried doughnut which was confirmed by the oil stains that slowly started seeping through the box. I ordered half a dozen doughnuts which I shared with family. My selections consisted of the following: -Plain Jane: This is Fractured Prune's plain/naked doughnut and it was decent. My gripe is that you get a fairly strong taste of the oil used to fry the doughnuts. Maybe it's just that the doughnut was literally minutes out of the fryer, but I found the taste of oil (tasted like peanut oil) slightly overpowering and took away from the actual taste of the doughnut. This was present in all of the favors but more pronounced in the Plain Jane since it has no added glazes. -Banana Nut Bread: It was really tasty as I enjoyed the added crunchy texture the peanut bits added. Banana glaze flavor really didn't come through though. -Blueberry Hill: It was okay with the blueberry flavor being fairly mild and a little artificial tasting IMO. -French Toast: The maple glaze wasn't that flavorful as I tasted more of the cinnamon sugar coating. -Ms. Prunella: Figures the one with the weirdest name would taste the best, as this one surprised me with it's nice berry glaze and caramelized crust that was really tasty.........the best of the bunch! -O.C. Sand: This was the one I kind of eyed beforehand and it was alright. Like the above doughnuts, the honey glaze flavor didn't come through the cinnamon sugar and oil flavor. Fractured Prunes doughnuts are good, but I believe the cooking technique could be tweaked a bit; as the oil flavor could be a result of maybe too hot an oil temperature, the doughnut frying oil not allowed to drain after coming out of the fryer, or maybe a inexperienced cook? Definitely try to eat these fresh, as I'm thinking these doughnuts would probably not taste all that good after cooling down or after sitting for a while as that oil flavor would just get stronger. Some good and some bad, but better than most Dunkin Donuts. Tip: Make sure you get there early, as while I had the luxury of being the first customer Sunday morning; a good 15+ customers started coming in right after me. read more

Yum! Fresh, hot, and flavorful donuts! Fractured prune never disappoints! There's always a massive line out the door, but it moves quickly. I can't say the same for preparing the order though. You're usually huddled in a small store front with 40 other hot and sweaty people waiting on their donuts, all struggling to hear which card number the employee is yelling out, then you have to fight through the crowd to get your order and push your way to freedom. But oh that freedom sure does taste sugary and delicious! My only suggestion would be to get a credit card machine! They only accept cash and you would think with so much business they could get themselves a credit card machine. read more

Hot hand dipped cake donuts made to order! YUMMMMM!!! Our family's go to stop for donuts in Ocean City every trip multiple times a year. We were happy to see some other locations open up closer to our condo but the 127th street location is where we keep coming back. The prices are a little better ($13.25/dozen $7.99/ half dozen + tax) and the beachy atmosphere is a little more fun. Absolutely not. Are the toppings fun? Yes. Do they smell nice? Absolutely. Taste? I couldn't do it. It tasted like oil and frosting. Delicious doughnuts that are more dessert and not so much breakfast. They have tons of decadent flavor options. All are hot, fresh, and made to order. I got the Rolo, which is like the candy - covered in chocolate and caramel. Perfect. Minus one star for annoying service.
