A friend,…read moreMayra, thought, after I experienced numerous disappointment, in the Madera area, that this establishment be more acceptable! Mayra was absolutely correct. I set an appointment for 11am. I arrived at 10:45 fully expecting to wait until or maybe even after 11am. The place was full! I checked in and was seated immediately at a pedicure chair. Within a few minutes the technician was ready to start. I believe her name is Kayla. She is, by and far, one of the best pedicurists I have had in the last 60 years! I kid you not. I have some mobility issues due to an accident that resulted my right foot being crushed and reconstructed with an appliance for toes, heal, and ankle. Subsequently There are pain and nerve issues. Most technicians ignore my pain no matter how I prepare them. This technician looked at my foot with the scaring and immediately, without my prompting, took great care to do a great pedicure without one pain issue. This makes a great deal of difference for me to know I can hopefully engage her serves going forward. The atmosphere, from the receptionist, to all of the other technicians (about 15), was calm, inviting, with a sense of belonging for this business. Something I didn't expect given the community and area the establishment is in. And I would like to further say the clientele were from all walks of life. And from all age levels. As a senior citizen this means a lot to me. Sometimes nail salons are young to mid forty clientele - and the atmosphere can be shunning. Not at Kroma Nail Bar. Excellent experience! And Dutch Bros is close by. That made the 28 minute drive to that side of town well worth it too.

The decor inside is art deco - gold accents mixed with calming dark green walls, a carnation pink accent wall, and sparkly crystal chandeliers. It's just the kind of style I like. They offer free champagne, mimosa, or soda for you to sip which is a lovely little treat. One of the most important reasons I am so happy going to Kroma Bar is because they shape my nails exactly how I want them and that is no small task! I want them short and straight on the tips with just a little bit of a natural curve on the edges. I also like for the acrylic to appear thin enough to almost look natural, NOT thick and raised up near the cuticle. Kroma's nail estheticians really listen and check in with me as they work on my nails. I LOVED how my nails came out every time! Finally I have a place I can trust to consistently raise up to my expectations. Another really nice thing about going to Kroma Bar is how wonderfully they treat my littles. For fun I have taken them there with me. We've had both manicures and pedicures. They pamper my kids as much as they pamper me. It makes them feel special and cared for and it makes me feel good to see them happy. My kids like it there so much they enjoy going even when they are just waiting for me. I've seen other kids there too and they always look comfortable and happy. It's nice to be somewhere where I'm not made to feel like people are annoyed that I brought my kids with me... and there ARE places like that where customers and service people alike act that way, unfortunately. I've been going there for 6 months now, the longest I've ever stayed with one salon, and cannot imagine going anywhere else!

They were wall to wall busy but still got me seated in a pedicure chair in under 10 minutes. Gel Pedicure was wonderful, quick, and affordable! There was a bit of a wait for the manicure... I didn't mind because they were so busy and the gal before me got the cutest intricate design so it extended the wait a bit. (Also, it was my fault for a last minute appointment!) As soon as it was my turn the manicurist who has been in the business for 10 years took great care of me! I love my manicure & he suggested the white polka dots! In total my visit was $91 with card & $20 for cash tip! (Basic gel pedicure & acrylic overlay fill) Next time I'll be sure to bring cash for payment as it's preferred but luckily they accommodated me! At small business I prefer to pay cash anyways! I told them I was in a bit of a rush and they immediately got started on my pedicure and then manicure. The person who did my pedicure was really careful. I told Tina I wanted an ombré manicure and she picked the best combo! I got so many compliments on it when I went back home and it lasted much longer than my other manicures. During the toe nail clipping she cut it too short catching the skin and caused my large toe to bleed. She put a liquid on it to stop the bleeding g which I read on the bottle as some kind of GLUE! All I could do is get done, pay for each pedicure, and get out of that building as fast as I could because I just wanted to cry. I asked my friend if it was just me and was being overly sensitive? She said no that she was very surprised with the treatment. Again, very unfortunate all of the way around. And to this day I truly have no idea what happened. As I placed my hands in the UV light my nails immediately burned, only then did the nail te g mention my nails were really thin. It would have been great to know prior to having the gel manicure so as to opt for a regular manicure. I've been getting my nails done for a decade in the Bay Area and have NEVER had something like this on my nails. They look horrific now and am mortified I may have gotten a fungus from here.
