While I love being outside, and I especially love being on the range outside, some winter days here…read morein Wisconsin can get frigidly cold. So I began looking for a range near where I worked at the time, where I could swing in and get some rounds downrange before it got too late in the evening. This is an extremely well-kept range with knowledgeable and friendly staff, who don't work on commission and won't try to sell you things you don't need (at least in my experience). I've seen people of all types coming and going: slow-fire competitors, IDPA, former military, doctors, judges, people who just want to learn more about firearms and shoot. Their indoor range consists of 2 indoor rooms with 8 bays each, 25 yards (75 feet). You can shoot any caliber through .308. They have benches there you can use if you prefer to sit or shoot from a rest. Non-members pay a $20.00 lane rental fee. Members pay no fees after their dues are paid; they also get priority lane placement, so if you come in and the lanes are full and there's a line, you will get priority placement. The membership prices are listed on their website, but if you're here reading reviews, I'll throw them in here: as of this writing, memberships are listed at $400/year for an individual or $119 for 3 months; $625 for two people or $185 for 6 months; and $750 for a family (2 parents, all children) or $224 for 6 months. This range is veteran friendly and does offer veteran discounts on memberships with proper proof of service (ID, DL, DD 214). They offer a variety of classes, including introductions to firearms, firearm safety, CCW classes, and introduction to sport shooting. They have event nights, such as ladies nights, and so forth. Sundays, if you don't have a membership or have an individual membership, kids shoot free. When I'm there on Sundays, I often sees parents with their children there. Range rules are solid: no holster draws (without r/o approval); no rapid-fire (without r/o approval); and standard firearm range-etiquette. Flag safeties are not required. Silhouette targets are not only allowed, but are some of the only targets sold behind the counter for range-use. They have a variety of weapons you can rent and shoot. So, if you've been thinking about that AR but weren't sure, they might have a rental you can shoot. Or if you really want that new HK VP9SK but aren't sure, they might have it available to shoot. I've used this service for my youngest daughter, renting 9s for her to learn to shoot. They do offer a discount on rentals for members. They are also a full-service firearms store, with a variety of weapons, ammunition, holsters, clothing and apparel, and range items (like soft cases for rifles, range-bags, duty-bags, etc). Members receive discounts of 5% on most items (excluding firearms). Of note, this store has close ties with Vortex, and their scopes are priced nearly at-cost. A Vortex Viper PST 5-25x50 FFP w/ EBR and illumination was priced recently on sale at $635. With a 5% discount, you're basically wiping out sales tax. Also, I recently was looking to purchase a Savage Stealth 10 BA; they were one of the cheaper-priced stores, priced nearly $100 lower than any other place I could find (excluding Bud's online). The problem is that they are a smaller family-owned business, and their inventory is limited. So they were liquidating their remaining 2017 inventory, and all they had for a Savage 10 or 110 BA on sale was a 10 BA chambered in .338 or a 110 BA chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, neither of which I wanted. I wanted a 10 chambered in 6.5. (Their sale price on the 10 was just over $900, and their 110 was $1,029; incredible if you can stomach paying for .338 or really enjoying reloading.) :) Staff seems knowledgeable, and they are friendly. It's a small group. You'll see mostly the same faces when you go, and you'll get to know them. Most (maybe all) of their staff are former military and have a love of shooting sports and shooting for self-defense. The place is spotless and smells nice. They have lead-removal soap in the bathrooms for clean-up after shooting. My only issues, and why I have a difficult time with giving this place 5 stars: I do feel some of their prices are high. It's a store, though, and they are for profit, so I get that. Ammo seems a bit high. Some of the accessories seem a bit high. The membership, while it seems cost prohibitive at first glance and is a lot of money for most of us to payout up front, seems high, but it's not, really. Not if you go there once or twice a week (or more). In reality, though, I won't be there much. I love my outdoor ranges. I like to be shooting inside when it's below zero, though. And they do have monthly rates for those of us who can more easily afford to pay by the month than by the year: the catch is that monthly rate is for a year locked in. It's like a contract at your gym. You agree to a year, you get this rate. You cancel, you still owe the monthly rate.

The only downside was that the boar was sold out and the first of us to order cleared out their elk supply...so I was given the remaining option of smoked bison. The sandwiches came with your choice of chips, potato salad, or coleslaw, bread and cheese for the sandwich, and a fountain drink all included in the price! While the Coke fans may be disappointed to find Pepsi products on the fountain, it did include Wild Cherry Pepsi to pair with the wild flavor. Speaking of the wild flavor, the bison was good enough to stand on its own without the assistance of condiments or sauces of any kind. You also have some lettuce, onion, and tomato on the side of the plate to "make it your way" if you're the picky kind. For those that are even more picky, there are some other standard, American options on the menu to fill your bellies as well as a dangerously tasty fudge and candy counter. While this is not an eatery that is a "must-must" stop for those in town, the Boyz left satisfied. The next time we're in Cabela's to resupply, we may just refuel our bodies again at their café.

The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path. That works if you are looking for good food; which the restaurant offers. We had a party of six of our table. Everyone agreed the food was very good. I had the Mile High Meatloaf. It was a great portion and was cooked perfectly. I added the salad bar for a minimal charge. It was well stocked with all the standard items and many tasty pasta salads. Several people I was dining with had the Cajun style walleye. They also received hearty portions and said it was really good. I have to tie our bar choices to our experience with our waitress. She was a young girl. She was very nice. Whoever trained her (or didn't train her) is responsible for her shortcomings. The poor girl had no idea about anything served at the bar. People at my table had to go up to the bar to look at the beers offered and to look at which liquors were available. First, the young lady should have been instructed to say, "Let me check on that". Secondly, someone could have helped her with a cheat sheet. It was an awkward 5 minutes of drink orders. Again, not her fault but failure by whoever "trained" her. Overall, the drinks were good. Another "training" failure was our waitress not returning to see if anyone needed anything or to see if another round of drinks was needed. No one to blame but management for not giving our young waitress the chance to provide exceptional service. Would I return? Indeed. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. If the manager did right by their employees, it would have been a truly great experience.

They also have a connected hall that could host a small wedding or meeting. I was very impressed with the building but unfortunately I was underwhelmed with a few things. Primarily the drinks. Sadly in this area, especially on a Friday night, the night club experience includes a good drink, usually an Old Fashioned. The drinks we had were so lacking in booze and old fashioned mix, that it was like drinking soda. Watching the pours, the bottles had automatic pours on them, that I'm sure were set to less than an ounce. The prices were average, but the drinks were terrible. I would much rather pay more and get a good drink! Most of my group had the Friday Perch Fry. Like the drinks, I thought the pricing was on par with the other fish fries. The size (amount) of the plate was great. Some people in our group liked the unique panko breading on the fish, others did not like it at all. I thought it was different, but good. What I couldn't understand was that when we got there, we were the only ones in the bar and 3 tables of people were eating on a Friday Night during Lent in Catholic heavy Eastern Wisconsin. This is a bad sign. A good Fish Fry restaurant usually clean ups at this time of the year! I would maybe go back to eat, but not when I'm with a group that would like a drink or too before our meal. This is crazy for a fish fry

This brings me to my next rant of this place. First off if a customer had a bad experience with your business your first objective would be to rectify the situation. By bringing up something that "wasnt their work" really doesnt make things better. It was basically saying we screwed this stuff up but not that one....well good for you. Since youve been cleared of that issue ill replace it with another. When you pay over $600 in labor youd hope things would be done right. The air filter looks like it hasnt been changed in 5 years. Im surprised there was any air flow. Im not for sure but Mercury said it maybe the reason why the very expensive spark plugs that i had you put in are all black. I get the air filter checked on my truck during an oil change without asking. I tell you guys to get the motor water ready and you dont even check that? Probably the same guy that hooked up the 3 way charger and didn't even plug it in to see if it worked. You dont have to worry about me coming in to purchase anything in your store ever again. Dont be upset over this review as it wont be your last unless you get a better service dept and do some customer service training.
