Went in to buy some fishing supplies. I had asked for these certain baits how to use these baits. I could not get a response from those who work there in that department. They didn't know how to use the baits. I then proceeded to ask for certain reels and line combos but was steered towards a totally different reel and line set up. They need to not let their good workers who is actually knowledgeable about fishing quit and hire these non outdoor fishing workers. Stopped at Cabelas to find a couple of shirts. I did find some that were on sale for $15.99 and bigger sizes that were $17.99. I am a bigger person so I found some 4xl that I liked. Went to the checkout and they told me that the sale went off of the bigger sizes yesterday but the smaller ones were still on sale. Mind you these shirts were all in the same shelf and nothing was stated that the sale ended yesterday. I was very dissatisfied with the outcome. Went here during this COVID-19 thing (week of Wed 3/18 and 3/19/2020). . Completely pretty much out of ammo. They were not properly staffed and people were not helpful at all. I wanted to get a shoot gun to go shoot with my dad and use for clay birds, ducks, pheasants and turkey hunting. I did find a great deal on a used one and had it reserved. Well the line was so long I went back the next day. I got there 15 minutes after they opened. It was taking forever for my stuff to get processed. There weee already 5 people waiting ahead of me. I was told to shop for some other things. They would text me when they were ready to help me buy my shotgun. I asked how long of a wait it would be as I had to do some running around. They took my number down. After about 40 minutes some young worker snapped at me and said "Sir staring at us won't make the computers go faster. Go do some shopping I don't need someone staring at me". Really? Well I just left. The lay out is nice in the store. I did get some camping stuff. However:NO INTERNET. So I couldn't t tell if I was really getting a deal or not. But I got my cast iron pot for camping(the day before when there was a huge line).So to the tall young kid with the brown buzz cut, sorry u were having a bad day at only @9:15am in the morning. But you better learn some manners. NOT Ever GOING BACK HERE AGAIN. 1)No internet 2)Poorly staffed, which has been a common them when I go here 3) Staff when u asked questions about the area they work, don't have answers. I contacted Cabelas in regards to trading in a gun to purchase another for my grandkids. I wanted to make sure they would do that before I drove all the way there. They assured me they do trades or cash offer, so I travelled to the Green Bay /Ashwaubenon store. I was told to wait by a counter to check in gun. After 10 minutes of no assistance (of which they were not busy except 2 employees pushing credit cards), one of the credit card pushers came over and asked me what I wanted. I said I am waiting for someone to check in my gun. She said we are not accepting trade ins or purchasing, I tried to show her my email that showed that I was told they were accepting and I should come down. She would not look at it. I insisted she check with the manager or get one. She left and went out of sight for less than a minute and came back and told me NO we aren't taking guns. Before I could say anymore to her she turned her back and went back to pushing cards. I contacted Cabelas in regards to this of which they right away offered a $20 coupon on my next purchase. I wasn't looking for that. I wanted to know why they LIED to me. Basically it came down to money. Cabelas is a destination store. Most people travel a distance to get there, and once there they spend money. They were willing to say a LIE knowing the odds are most people will make purchases. I don't care how much money people say they donate. Lieing and cheating people and then giving those profits back in the form of a donation only makes the Cabela's (Johnny Morris) look good. If you like donations Give your money to an Honest company like Scheels. They donate a ton! Dick Cabela would be rolling over in his grave if he knew how Bass Pro and Cabela's is run. Why do I bring this up? Customer service is a by product of an owners philosophy. I contacted Cabela's management. They said they would look into it Haha. Look at all the complaints on this website. What I will say is their quality, pricing, greed, and customer service will put them in a league of their own of which I and you should want no part of. Never bought a gun in Wisconsin before, but a buddy told me Cabela's has a good selection, although he warned me that customer service sux. I should have listened. Anyway, we show up on a Saturday afternoon in July and the place is packed, but only one guy behind the gun counter. I look around and they have the exact gun I was looking for. Used at an amazing price. So I go over to where the sole employee is helping someone else. The employee has 2 speeds: SLOW and STOP. He's chatting with these old guys for literally 20 minutes while I am standing there just cooling my heels. Then it turns out the old guy was "just looking" and the employee coddled him another 10 minutes, writing down gun models that this asshole could find himself on the internet in 2 minutes. He finally finished up and comes to me. "I know what I want.", I tell him "You have it in the case there. I am buying today." We start the process and it takes FOREVER. The guy moves like Mr. Burns. I know the background checks can take time, but even after they were completed, it was STILL another 30 minutes while he dicked the dog. Halfway through another winner showed up to help out with the huge line of people waiting. I told two different people who walked up that I had been waiting over an hour, and they wisely left. At one point I wanted to just leave, but they had my ID in the back. It took just under 2 hours to get the gun bought. I had thought about getting a kayak, but after that experience all I wanted was to get the hell out of Cabela's and get a drink. Exasperating. Never again, even with the military discount. read more

This place is huge and awesome. Two aquariums with full size fish. It's a redneck Mecca. Everything you could possibly think of, and then replicated in camo. There was a line in the men's restroom where the bros shamelessly blew up the commode. That's a redneck experience if you've ever had one. read more

A few of the Boyz ventured to Cabela's for some fishing lures and shotgun shells, so we figured we'd give the in-store café a try for some unique meat and it did not disappoint! The only downside was that the boar was sold out and the first of us to order cleared out their elk supply...so I was given the remaining option of smoked bison. The sandwiches came with your choice of chips, potato salad, or coleslaw, bread and cheese for the sandwich, and a fountain drink all included in the price! While the Coke fans may be disappointed to find Pepsi products on the fountain, it did include Wild Cherry Pepsi to pair with the wild flavor. Speaking of the wild flavor, the bison was good enough to stand on its own without the assistance of condiments or sauces of any kind. You also have some lettuce, onion, and tomato on the side of the plate to "make it your way" if you're the picky kind. For those that are even more picky, there are some other standard, American options on the menu to fill your bellies as well as a dangerously tasty fudge and candy counter. While this is not an eatery that is a "must-must" stop for those in town, the Boyz left satisfied. Finally the cleaning lady walked by and called for help, 15 minutes later nothing. Nothing has changed in a long time. I left $500 in product in the store if I had just a little bit of help. Seems like every time I come in a buy something the price stated is in correct. Really frustrating when I have to find an employee to scan an item only to be told at check out the price is wrong. I wanted to buy my wife a Camelbak back pack and drove an hour to Cabelas Green Bay was told buy an employee that the price stated was the actual price only to find out the sale had ended. You will be a kid in a candy shop if you love to hunt, fish, and go camping. This store is huge with everything you can imagine that is outdoors related, which includes accessories, clothing...you name it! There's a wildlife display with different animals and an aquarium. It's actually pretty neat as you feel like you're in a wildlife center. They also have a cafe where you can get some meaty sandwiches and fudge. The hours are limited and was closed when I was there (5:30pm on a Thursday). Like many other retail stores, you rarely get acknowledged when you're aimlessly walking around the store. I noticed the whole staff wearing jeans which is not common for a retail store. Based on the regular customer that would go here, jeans deem to be appropriate. I just went here to buy a toy rifle, which I found. This probably not a place I would go to on a regular basis because I'm not an outdoorsy guy. I love Cabela's! Their stores always seem to have the same layout which is very nice! It doesn't feel like a completely different store which is awesome! Their bathrooms are always clean and stocked which is always a plus! Especially if you come here with children! They do have some pretty nice deals on guns. The application process is very quick and easy. Very convenient! I always come here if I'm looking for fishing, hunting, and camping gear. They always have what I'm looking for and the cost isn't outrages. The fish tank is always cool to check out during your visit here. It entertains my daughter for a looooooong time. Hahaha! Sometimes I have to bribe her to get her away from the fish tank. Anyway, very nice and clean place. read more

I am a female. I stood at the counter in the same spot because I knew exactly what I wanted for over 20 minutes before one associate said they couldn't help. Well that was because he was shooting the breeze with his buddy while he was working. The next associate treated me like I was stupid. By the way I had already purchased my fair share of firearms, so I knew exactly what to expect. I did tell him this too but he still continued to talk down to me. Cabela's is a good store if you know exactly What fishing or hunting item you are looking for. It is a place that can keep you entertained just by walking around. Poor service. Make sure you call for hours. The signs on the door as well as online hours both said closing at 9pm on Saturday's. We were there at 8:05 and the doors were unlocked so we went in. We were chased down by 2 employees who threw us out saying they closed at 8pm. They were very rude about it. If you are going to change your hours, have the courtesy to notify people either with signage on doors or change your online hours. For a store the size of Cabela's, you would think they would have more variety. While they do have lots of certain items, they fall short in other areas. For example, tons of Under Armour shirts and sweatshirts but no grass for a duck blind. I can usually find what I want online but the store should be more convenient. My biggest issue with Cabela's is checking out, literally every time I go here there is something that goes wrong that causes what should be a quick simple check out to stretch out to an experience that makes you want to rip your hair out. The scanner doesn't work, the price isn't marked correctly or, most often, the person checking out has no idea what they are doing or even how to call for help. Mixed feelings on the customer service depends on the person, a couple time I went to buy a gun decided to go elswhere because of the lack of service or it seemed like I was bothering the person to look at a firearm. read more

While I've heard this location is smaller than other cabela's (I haven't been to any others), it has everything you could possibly want and more. On top of that, the store's atmosphere is great and the decor is amazing. The displays, aquariums, and the wall of fame are all really cool, and the place even has it's own cafe! Sale items are not available. Your told they have been on back order for months before the sale started. They will then try to sell you another item like it at twice the price. Cabelas is a great store with good products and selection. The negative is if you need personal help in the store, specifically firearm and accessory section. Often staff ignore even when standing at counter obviously looking for assistance. Today I got fed up, took a picture of item interested in and bought off amazon for better price. Customer service training should be emphasized more. However, I will continue to shop at Cabela's, but most likely will buy firearms elsewhere where wait is not so long. read more

Brought my bow in to get a new string on and was informed it would be 2-3 weeks until they have it done. Four weeks later they called advising me to order the string, have it sent to my house and they'll put it on for me. They hadn't even ordered the string yet. Went to the store that day and took it to 12 Rings archery, Soup the owner said he'd have it ready in 4 days. The Cabelas store atmosphere is very appealing and the merchandise is outstanding, however the customer service needs to work on their communication. read more
