It smells of bacon and donuts here. Now, normally that would be a pleasant experience but, thanks to the caliber of person carrying that scent with them, the odor is offensive in this venue. It was a challenge to communicate with both the staff and other guests. I think that problem was related to the fatigued mouths of said staff and guests; they were probably sore and exhausted from so much licking of boots. While visiting Green Bay, I stopped by here to see what they carried. They did not have my size in items that I wanted, but the staff was very helpful and friendly. The place was very clean and well organized, especially with accessories. They carry a lot of items for police officers as well as items for hunters. It's my humble opinion that if you own guns and have children under the age of 18 in your home, then you should have a gun safe to securely store weapons, and here they are well stocked with safes that come in several different sizes. They completely over looked the fact that the problem I was struggling with was that the fire arm I had was brand new and so, Miquel and the guys fixed my dilemma and had me on my way in a matter of a few minutes. I've purchased a few guns at Nelson but they didn't carry the last one I bought. I took it in to their gunsmith to put in longer screws on the optic. He took it and swapped the screws out in about 10 minutes. I asked what I owed him and he said "nothing"! Wow. If that doesn't drive customer loyalty I don't know what does. Great place. read more

My department ordered me a ballistic vest through them. I paid an additional $282 for an upgrade. 18 months later no front panel done properly, and no response from Katie Nelson, the owner. I've been trying to contacted them several times, unsuccessfully. I have an expired vest for the Democratic Convention and unfortunately not enough time to order one on my own. read more

Tried to buy my first handgun, brought my boyfriend along with me cause he knows more than me. Waited 7+ days for any sort of call & thats only because I called to see what was going on since I hadnt heard from then AT ALL! Well the owner denied me because they think i am buying it for someone else! However i am unsure how they came to this conclusion when i really wasnt even questioned about anything for them to come to that conclusion. I was even ready to go for my conceal & carry with them. Poor customer service. Big guy behind the counter ignored my wife and then walk over to help a guy who just came in. She is retired military as am I. We've been a round and have never had such poor service. They have a monopoly in Green Bay so they don't care. They lost about $1000 in sales that day. Never doing business here again. Trying to buy an NFA item has been a terrible experience and I still don't have the item. The staff does not communicate updates and when they do it is months after the fact. For a place that advertises selling NFA items the staff is not up to date with the recent changes in the law and the new paperwork that needs to be filled out. This caused a delay of 4-5 months. That delay was on top of a delay of not communicating that they received the serial number from the manufacturer long before the recent law change that would have made it much easier to submit the NFA forms. This place shouldn't be selling NFA items if they don't know what they are doing. read more
