I called at the last minute on a Friday hoping to get lucky and book a massage appt and I am SO glad I did! The people here are so awesome and friendly. Missy made me feel very welcomed. The facilities are immaculate. Julie does amazing work and you can tell she truly cares for her clients' health and wellbeing. A 30 minute massage followed by an hour in the infrared sauna on relaxtion mode is going to become a regular treat for me - it was incredibly therapeutic. I've been to both of Fox River Spa locations and my experience is always A+! I can't say enough about my facial and eye brow wax with Yvonne! Yvonne is obviously very experienced. I've been having facials and waxing for over 25 years and I truly had one of my best experiences with Yvonne. Her attention to detail to my precision brow wax was amazing. They really looked perfect when she was finished. The facial was calming and wonderful. Many places no longer do extractions - but Yvonne is old school. I recently moved here from Cali so I was desperately searching for a new place for massages. I received my massage last week and without getting into detail, I can say the massage was not satisfactory. I was embarrassed/too shy to say anything at first but eventually called to discuss my experience. The young lady at the desk was incredibly sweet and understanding when I explained my experience, apologized, then told me she was going to speak with the owner. She called me back and (after apologizing on behalf of the owner) offered me a complimentary session to make up for the first one. Fast forward to today...I started with the Infrared sauna which was fantastic (super high tech and even had a screen so I could watch Netflix!) then went into my massage with Cinde. She is absolutely PHENOMENAL and knew exactly what she was doing! She is definitely going to be the one I ask for from now on when I start my membership next month! I tried out Fox river spa today and received the 60 minute therapeutic massage with Kasumi, she was the MOST INCREDIBLE therapist I've ever had in my life and I've worked in the industry for many years and tried many people. Somehow she made a 60 minute feel like 2 hours. I have been suffering from migraines for almost a week and half and she made me feel so relaxed and pampered. They also have an infrared sauna that I really can't wait to try as I just watched a video about how good they are for detoxing. It even has Netflix to watch on the screen inside. I will be back again for sure. Also, just to note. They aren't pushy about memberships and it seemed like a fair value as you pay one fee a year for discounted rates. I recently went to Fox River Med Spa in Algonquin for an adjustment and 90minute massage. From the moment I walked in the door I had a wonderful experience. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming at the front desk. I saw Dr Stevens for my chiropractic adjustment and him and his staff were great. He listened to my issues and discussed a great treatment plan to help correct those issues. He also took x rays then explained them after in terms I would understand, haha. Importantly he was incredibly kind. I then saw Julie for my massage and that was heaven. She's so sweet and the massage was so relaxing. This spa and the one in Carpentersville hire people who have no idea what they're doing. The first time I went, Marie was supposed to do a full face wax. She left patches on my face. Then I had to go through an entire headache of talking to some bimbo receptionists who would promise to do something or find something out for the redo and wouldn't. I FINALLY got a redo with a girl in the Carpentersville location, Lisa. She did OK for a few visits until she ripped skin just under my eyebrow and didn't say anything about it and had the audacity to accept a tip. I didn't feel or see the rip until I got home and was able to look more closely. I tried two other girls and every time I went home and saw so much hair left it was as if I hadn't paid $20-40 to have it waxed off. The last straw was with Charlie. I came in, asked for hard wax, she said she didn't do hard wax and I would have to reschedule with someone else. THEN MENTION THAT WHEN I SELECT SOMEONE FOR A WAXING SERVICE!! I asked for a full face wax with her (ended up just letting her do soft wax) and it was like she waxed absolutely nothing. This place is an absolute joke. It's cheap for a reason. read more

I recently went to Fox River Spa in Algonquin and saw Justin. What a great experience!! He is so talented at what he does and he explains everything really well. I've had chronic lower back and hip pain for many years. I was very hesitant to even try a massage on my back because even laying on my stomach is painful. But I decided to take a chance since I read that Justin had special training in that area and I'm so glad I did!! He did some serious work on my back and got to the root of the problem. He really knows what he's doing and is truly dedicated to making people feel better. So today I went into the salon for a well needed mommy spa night. Let me tell you, I am so so so relaxed. Every one was amazing and I will definitely back. I started the night with a one hour massage with Justin who got me so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. Then after my wonderful massage, I had Marie for a 30 min facial. She had magic hands for my face that I caught myself falling asleep on her 3 different times. After all that, the front desk informed me that the sauna was open. Stopped in to check everything out, and I didn't think I would fall in love that fast! Everything is very clean and I love the way everything is! The comfy couches they put you in while you're waiting for your service are AMAZING! I went into the saunas and little did I know there are tablets in them and i got to watch Hulu! Also the robes were so soft! All the staff were friendly and really helped me with the sauna and showed me how everything worked and they were really knowledgeable about the sauna. Without a doubt, Julie Bevel, Spa owner, has provided the best deep tissue massages I have ever had. I am glad I stayed with this location since Massage Green Spa vacated well over a year ago. Julie and her staff have worked tirelessly to provide Algonquin with an excellent massage and salon experience. Julie offers special rates for those who choose to become members, which was the best decision I made once I decided to stay with this location.
