When her old place told me they could no longer get her to eat, I knew it was time to get her out of there. Panicked, I researched every possible placement I could find. This process is terrifying, you literally have a loved ones life in your hands, and it feels like no place could be good enough to take over. After days of research I decided to stop by here for a tour, and found myself very impressed. The place is busy, in a good way. Nurses, cleaning staff, workers, visitors and residents are very active all day. It passes the smell test, an important factor for anyone contemplating leaving they're loved one someplace new. They have activities, a beautician, religious services, and plenty more amenities. I moved my aunt here a few months ago now, and she's better mentally and physically then when we left the last place. Turns out the last people just didn't try hard enough, she's even gained weight back! It's two to a room in her section, and her roommate swears by the service here. She's been there for 10 years and still loves it, that's saying a lot. The nurse recognizes me, and gives me updates regularly either in person or over the phone. They carefully laid out a care plan to match my wants and needs, and I really feel the love from the staff. It's hard to place your trust in strangers, but I sleep so much better knowing she's here being treated like a person, not a paycheck. On an extra note, today's visit was during happy hour. Everyone was enjoying some wine and having a good time interacting with each other, and I thought to myself "If I'm ever unable to take care of myself, I could see happily living like this."

That care enabled him to come back to my home with Mom and stay home with the great care that Wauconda Care coordinated. Though Dad had challenges and had to visit Wauconda Care again, I was confident they'd again provide excellent care until he could return to us. I have been so pleased, I have applied to become apart of their team to give back to others and become a part of the team that allowed extra time too enjoy hanging out with my Dad. After each session I knew I was growing closer to being completely recovered. As I began to do more and more exercises the arthritis in my knees began to hamper my recovery. Back in the day I would have rated CPT a solid 5 star! However since Northwestern Medicine took…read morethem over, their patient support has been dismal. I had a hip replaced and there was no question where I preferred to have my PT. I contacted them to schedule the appointments and my assumption was that since the Doctor had sent over the order, they would have all the information. I was asked when the Doctor wanted the PT to start. I did not have this information and asked if they could contact the office on my behalf. My thinking was that if they needed additional information, they could get it during the call. The response was jaw dropping and I'm not exaggerating... "You'll need to call them since we have no way of contacting the Doctor's office"... WHAT!?!?!? After an afternoon of reconsideration of them as my provider, I contacted Endeavor Health. They also needed additional information, however their solution was to reach out to the Doctor's office directly. I wish I could say that this was an outlier, and that Northwestern Medicine really supports their patients, but I can't. This was just another support failure in a line of historical "can't be bothered" attitude. This last go around is it for me. If they can't be bothered to make a telephone call, then I can't choose them as a health care provider. My advice? Call anyone else!

The infrared Sauna helped my full achy body due to fibromyalgia (more then one treatment is needed) but well worth it. I would go a few times a week if insurance would cover it.
