I went with my girlfriend's family who have had property there for many years. We were able to go on the boat, swim, kayak, paddle boat, and go tubing. I know a lot of people fish there as well. This place is great for dogs as well. I took my dog and he loved being outdoors. Which is a nice chance of pace for him living in Chicago. I dumped him in the lake and he swam a little bit, even though he doesn't love seining. But where the property is the water was shallow enough for him to hop around in the water and still have his feet on the ground. Overall, I would definitely come back.

If you don't have a boat, besides swimming and hiking, there aren't many activities especially for the kiddos. The bathroom situation here is not ideal AT ALL. You have to be a real trooper to use the "bathrooms" in the camping area. They're really just glorified outhouses or port-a-potties. And they STINK. I'd rather go in the woods or walk all the way up to the shower house, which is also equally if not more creepy. The showers feel very prisony. Camping spaces for rvs is really nice. There's a good amount of space to spread out, grill, or play whatever lawn games you surely brought along. all in all, this is great for the adventurer and seasoned camper. Just don't focus on hygiene

She purchased 2000 acres of lane in the Merom area. After a few years of using a skiff to cross the river she decided to start A Ferry Service. The Cooper Family ran the Merom Ferry Service for several years. The Merom Ferry Service ran well into the 20th century changing owner a few times. Today Merom has a lot more to offer than the Public Access Site. There is the Historical Merom Bluff Park at the top of the Bluff and The Merom Bluff Board Walk Nature Trail at the bottom of the Bluff. The trail has two paths. One runs a short distance along the Wabash River Bank with a small shelter house overlooking the river. With a second path going to up the Merom Bluff Park. The Public Access Boat Launch is concrete and well maintained by the DNR year round. There is also concrete Handicap parking with an additional gravel and grass parking area for your truck and trailer. You won't be disappointed

Explained the rules. After that another camp worker, sweet friendly woman escorted us to our spot. I had ordered fire wood online but, when she was bringing us to our site, there was "extra" from the previous campers. Long day of driving ended with a nice relaxing late afternoon/evening. P.S. bonus-nice little gated, Clean dog run. Thank you so much for everything. What a great night. Dogs got exercise, bon fire, cold peanut butter stout. Cheers until next time. I'll be back!!

Incredibly easy, seamless boat rental from start to finish!…read more Online rental makes it easy to see what rentals they have, the days available & the times available. We live an hour and a half away & would not have come to Raccoon Lake if it wasn't for their boat rental! Unlike most boat rentals who only do pontoon rentals, Raccoon Lake also has ski boats & jet skis too. This is a fun thing to do with friends or even just as a couple. Staff is extremely easy-going but keep in mind that they still have rules you need to follow. Just don't be dumb & you'll be fine. We saw people trying to take their dog on the boat (which there are signs everywhere that say not to) and also saw people jumping off their boat while it was in motion. Don't be like those people. Be a smart human. You'll get a fine if you are stupid like this, so if you are hella rich then by all means, be stupid. The Lake is extremely large, so you won't get bored easily. We did 2 hours & thought that was the perfect amount of time! Keep in mind that in addition to your boat rental, you'll also need to pay for gas top-off (for reference, we used a quarter tank & paid $34 for a top off. They set their own gas prices). And you'll also need to pay to get into the State Rec Area ($7). Have fun, it's a blast & will definitely do the three hour round trip to go again!

Visitors must obtain a pass from the office to fish and swim which there is a nice little beach and swimming area right in front of the club house. If you want to put your boat in the water you MUST be a property owner and you must register it for Lake Holiday at this office at a $20 fee. There is only one boat ramp and access is restricted unless you have a magnectic pass card for the gate. The lake itself is fairly decent for all types of boating. Its definitely not the biggest lake but still fun to toodle around on and do some fishing. Fish stock: yellow and channel cats, stripers, crappies, and bluegill are the regular catch. Fair warning: They do have security that patrols the lake so if you put your boat on the lake without a registered sticker you'll be fined if caught. Tip: If youre not a property owner and you were looking for a lake to put your boat in at, try Lake Waveland or Raccoon Lake Southwest of here. They are much bigger, and have great fishing.
