A couple of months ago we signed the purchase contraxt for a new built house and so we decided to search for a third-party Inspection company that could inspect our new home and give us piece of mind. We checked among several companies and we dicided to hire Fox Inpsection Group, for sure not the lowest price in the market but the content of their homepage, the several sample inspection report and the very good review helped us in making this election. We finally hired them for the following: * Home Inspection, including: o Structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing evaluation o Thermal imaging scan to check for hidden leaks or water intrusion o Elevation survey to assess foundation levelness o Roof inspection o HVAC inspection for both heating and cooling systems o Sprinkler system check * Air Quality/Mold Inspection * WDI/termite inspection * Sewer lines camera inspection The day of the inspection ,the personnel showed up on time and, since we were out of State, we asked if they could shortly debrief us on the main findings at the end of the inspection. The Fox Group personnel was readily available to a call right after the inspection and thoutoghly went through the main findings clearly highlighting which ones required the urgent attention. By the endo fo the same day we started receiving the final reports (there were several of them) with the latest one delivered on the morning of the day after (if we excluded the report with the air lab analysis whose final revision was delivered after a couple of days). The reports were briliant, easy to read, plenty of pictures related to the main findings, really well done and covering everything they promised to cover during the inspection. In particular, the main inspection report showed up some moisture behind the ceiling of the main bedroom, detected with the Thermal Scan that is included in the base price. This allowed us to go back to the builder and ask for him to check. Finally, the roof company found that one of the vent over that area of the roof was not properly sealed and the builder decided to re-apply the sealing but most importantly replace all the affected parts (mainly wood beams part of the structure). This saved us a lot of money in case we would have discovered this problem after the 1 year warranty. Thanks Fox Inspection Group, really great job! strongly recommended. read more

We hired Fox to do a stucco inspection for our home, and it was a complete waste of $850. The dedicated stucco companies were overbooked, and so we decided on Fox after reading the high reviews. Their prices for stucco inspection were on the higher end of the market, however the price did not correlate with the quality of the inspection. The stucco inspector was very much a rookie - he left before checking all 4 walls of the house. Luckily I had a thorough home inspector who called the Fox stucco inspector to double check that a concerning wall of the home was checked; it was not. The disgruntled Fox stucco inspector went back, then reinspected the area and did find damage that was costly. No apology regarding the oversight was made. At this point, my husband and I lost trust in the company (how do you just drive away after not examining all the walls? What else could have been missed?), and had to beg a dedicated stucco company to squeeze us in to reexamine our home - an extra $350 out of our pocket. The Fox stucco inspector later said that he didn't feel comfortable examining a wall that was in between the neighbors house and the home we were buying, however made no effort to tell us that he was leaving an entire wall un-inspected. We were just lucky to have had a home inspector who did his due diligence to make sure concerning areas were followed up on. The dedicated stucco company found EVEN MORE damage than the Fox stucco report, allowing us to ask the seller to adequately repair what would have cost US, the buyers, thousands of dollars had we just used the Fox report. I tried to call their office to discuss the discrepancy between our stucco report and the one provided by a professional stucco company (that charged less than Fox by the way!), however never got a call back from the company. So, they ate $850 for a subpar job, and we had to pay additional $$ for a repeat stucco inspection. Perhaps they're better at home inspections, but I can not recommend them for stucco inspections at all. read more

Fox Inspection Group was an amazing choice for our inspection. As first time home buyers, we were extremely pleased with the service provided. Communication and Scheduling: It was easy to set up our appointment. I called several days in advance but was having trouble getting my inspection done on the short timeline that we needed. Fox Inspection Group scheduled an appointment for me early in the morning on a holiday so that we were able to get it done. Setting up, confirming, and paying for the appointment were all easy. The inspector was on time and at work before we even arrived. It was also simple to set up a termite inspection at the same time so that we did not have to return later. Comfort Level: Our inspector, Bill, was very easy-going and great to work with. He answered all of our questions as we went, took a look at a few extra things outside we were just curious about, and let us follow him around peppering him with questions as he did his work. He let us know ahead of time that he would be doing a very detailed report and that he was "harsh on houses", so we were not as surprised when it came back. Bill even had a cooler full of snacks and cold water for us while we waited for the inspection to be complete! Inspection Details: We were provided a detailed report on the same evening of our inspection. The report was extensive but easy to understand because of the photos taken, clear language, and specific fonts (bold, italic, normal) to tell us what to pay most attention to. I am delighted with FOX Inspections Group and even the gal on the phone, when I called for a quote - she explained it all and what really put them over the top and made me book them after only having called on other inspection company was that Fox is ONE STOP SHOPPING!!!! One check to write and 4 professionals - including HVAC, the inspector for whom I did not meet as I had to leave before he arrived - and the YEARS of experience for them all had to total over 100 years. What a great Team to have on your side when inspecting a house you are thinking about buying - it is stressful enough and the ease of booking and level of professionalism was simply extraordinary! I was thrilled with the professionalism and friendliness of John, with the Termite inspection division of FOX Inspections. Having relocated from NJ, I don't know much about termites, a common scourge here in Texas, apparently. My wife and I are buying our first home this year! We read all the reviews online for other companies when looking for the right inspection company. There are several that are great competitors. We chose who was available the earliest and priced good. Fox Inspections was our choice! And super glad we went with them. The two guys they sent out Bernie and John were super knowledgable of everything. They told me what issues were small and minor, how much they could cost, and which ones would be considered deal breakers. Very thorough and were more than happy to answer any questions. Bernie also gave me a lot of tips on how to fix and maintain everything myself. Being a first time home buyer, it was a super relief having it be an enjoyable experience. The report he sent out, with all of the pictures he took of everything was very informative and was emailed the same night! John was also a big help in giving advice about all of the termite questions I had. And some really good tips for the future and things to be on the lookout for. SUGGESTION: For best results, ensure large appliances are turned on, large furniture is moved away from windows, and access panels are not sealed prior to inspection. Richard Flores was our inspector this time. He was very punctual and polite in manner. He did his very best to access every part of our hopefully future home, but because of certain restrictions that we were aware of before the inspection, certain areas that were sealed or had large furniture were in accessible. While you are looking for potential homes, I highly suggest making sure all access panels, hvac units, crawl spaces, and large furniture are removed. Mr. Flores was very thorough and even checked all of our appliances. One thing to be noted would be to ensure the appliances do not have an on/off button which happened with the refrigerator, since it was turned off we thought it was broken. However, with a quick powow with the seller we were able to figure out that it did in fact work! What I found most helpful was that Mr. Flores found out the gas marks on the oven were not entirely accurate and gave us very affordable suggestions on fixing it. His wealth of knowledge was truly helpful in brain-storming solutions to make our home move-in ready ASAP! Thank you Mr. Flores! read more

We have worked with Fox Inspections twice now and I would highly recommend them moving forward. We had Richard both times and I have been pleased with his work. He is diligent, thorough, and very well educated. He takes the time to make sure he knows why there are potential issues and what needs to be done to solve them. I recently had a home inspection performed by Mark Denton on a new construction. His work was very thorough and he made himself available to discuss the details as soon as the report was completed. Despite me not getting back to him until about 9:30 on a Friday night, he took time to go over the report and answer questions. Unfortunately, there were code violations and multiple other concerns that were uncovered during the process. We live in CA and obviously have many obstacles trying to purchase a home over 2000 miles away. Mark's attention to detail and objective assessment of the home has fostered confidence in our decision making. The well being and safety of my family is my first priority. Mark's work has helped make sure that the things most valuable to me remain protected. He was very diplomatic in his presentation of the code violations and items of concern, while still making sure that we understood the importance of the findings and what components were priority. This firm did a home inspection of my house prior to the sale. My opinion is that they made many mistakes that cost us the sale. Examples: 1. they thought a water hose was an electrical line. 2. after 3 tornadoes and 2 of the biggest hurricanes in the area, they claimed that the roof structure and framing was bad. Had 2 attic experts come in and tell there was nothing wrong. 3. they said fireplace was leaking, not working right and missing all kinds of parts. Fireplace pro came in and said all it needed was a $35 bracket and everything else was in good shape. 4. they said wires in electrical box were exposed. Two lic. electricians could not find anything wrong. 5. they said we had damaged water lines, it was overspray from a sprinkler head. 6.they said pool entry was not secure, no audible alarm. All they had to do was open and close the door to hear the alarm beep. 7. claimed that items were out of code and they weren't, poor training. These inspectors didn't inspect, they were under-trained and tried to make themselves look good. They caused more stress and work than was needed. read more

This company, hands down, time after time has gone above and beyond to help the clients understand the report and walk them through all of the findings. During the home buying experience there are many stressful situations and having an inspector that knows how to communicate with the client is priceless. Even more importantly the inspectors are resourceful and strategic in their discussions of the deficiencies and other findings to give the client an idea of how much needs to be immediately addressed, which items are highly recommended and which items are "more typical" and are considered maintenance or handy-man type of jobs. All this while staying impartial, delivering an unbiased professional option of the items in "working condition" and offering a large number of other services through Fox that can help the client get even further clarity of the condition of the home they are purchasing or selling. I was feeling rushed to schedule an inspector early in my 10 day option period, and on half a day's notice, Fox Inspections was able to accommodate me with one of their 18 inspectors. The assistants I spoke with over the phone were absolute wizards and got me through the process of scheduling and what to expect easily. Grant Miller was my inspector. When they told me he was licensed and considered a Master inspector, I was expecting someone a little more seasoned - the kid had to only be in his twenties, but he had 3 years experience and clearly knew how to do the job conscientiously and thoroughly. Grant methodically worked his way through the house ~2000 sf house in about 2.25 hours. He was also familiar and comfortable with the technology he had to use. Grant was thorough and inviting in sharing the details of his job and what he was checking for. I feel much better armed with information after going through this inspection. Comparing his report to the reports of some of their competition, it is just as comprehensive and informative. read more

Bill was an awesome inspector. He was hard at work on time (actually a little early which was nice) in a mask, gloves, and shoe protectors all while keeping a distance. He was quick yet extremely thorough, pointing out things that were right in front of my eyes but never noticed. He also brought snacks and waters along with a couple of chairs for us as we waited to go over the results. When it came time to go over his findings, he walked us through everything and answered any questions we had along the way. I came away with a ton of knowledge which I really appreciate when I go through things like this. On top of all of that, Bill gave us some recommendations that will help protect our house in the future. He even had some funny stories to go along with everything. The report is extremely well written and gives us all the information we need to make a good decision moving forward. At first, I was a little weary of the price but Fox Inspection Group is worth every penny. I highly recommend them and they have a customer for life! read more

Overall, I am very pleased with Fox Inspections and would recommend them to anyone who wants a thorough inspection. I needed a thorough inspection and was able to schedule a next-day appointment with 3 inspectors - home inspection, AC, and termite. (Pause: Quick shout-out to Diane workin' the phones for being fabulous and a joy to work with!) They all did a very thorough job, walked me through everything they found, and provided a very detailed report the very next day which was also super easy to access and navigate. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their wording on the report. I'm new to this so it might be a legal thing, but I didn't have a leg up in my negotiations because their wording said to "budget for near future replacement" instead of "it doesn't work, fix it now." Minor thing, and maybe not a big deal if you're a better negotiator than I am. Overall the inspectors were great guys and I had a very good experience. read more

The office is very easy to work with. They don't waste your time, but ask if you want a full explanation of their services. It was very easy to schedule my inspections and she even gave me a discount for a promotion I wasn't aware of. When the inspector arrived he was very personable. He walked though the home with me and answered all questions i had. He also provided water and snacks. He then went on to give me suggestions of what i could do in the future to avoid issues, and he showed me how to use my new irrigation system. He added humor to the discussion so i really felt i was talking to a caring friend vice a stranger. He also ensured he explained their services so i wouldn't get taken advantage of in the future. I was referred to Fox (and specifically Mark Denton) by my realtor as I was a first time buyer. While the overall cost was a bit higher than other inspection companies, I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for. My home is a new build so while there were very few issues, Mark's level of detail was incredible. There were a couple things that I wouldn't have even imagined an inspector checking, like running a full cycle on the dishwasher while he worked in other areas, and turning the brand new oven to 400° and checking for even heating. (It also helped start the burn off process, which smells terrible!) Mark worked safely, wore a mask and shoe covers, was prompt, and provided a detailed rundown at the end and written report was in my email by the end of the day. If I buy another home in Houston in the future I won't hesitate to contact Mark at Fox again. read more
