I became a patient of this clinic not by choice, but because my dentist of over 20 years sold her practice to them. At first, all was well, then after my last visit, my hygienist retired. I had a specific appointment set and throughout the years they never made a mistake until this time. My card listed one date and time and just before that date/time I received a text from them confirming my appointment for a week later. At 66 years of age I thought, maybe I was confused; but I wasn't. When I called and asked why they moved my appointment out one week, they said they didn't. They threw the hygienist under the bus and then told me they'd understand if I wanted to find a new dentist. At first I said, of course not, let's keep the appointment. But then after speaking to my wife about this, we realized they didn't actually want our business and didn't care if they lost it. My wife and I are both in the service industry and we were flabbergasted by this attitude. Importantly, the person with whom I had this conversation identified herself as the office manager! I'm sure her supervisor is very proud of her. I cannot recommend this practice. By the way, I'm truly an easy going guy, that's why I initially agreed to keep the appointment after she suggested I take my business somewhere else. This was a little hurtful. read more

Attempted to make an appt and asked if they accepted my insurance. I was told politely they are out of network with all dental insurance providers and it's up to the patient to know their dental benefits before scheduling. It was suggested I contact my Human Resources dept. I was a little confused. Most of the time when you schedule any sort of appt with a health care or dental provider, you give them your insurance info and they let you know your benefits and coverage. I wanted to make an appt, but the process seemed way too complex to try and get in at this clinic. read more

I've been going to Dr. Fox for 20+ years (wow, that long?). They have always been very courteous and professional. Even tho I mostly go for cleanings (dental work when needed) I feel like we are "friends". They ask about the family, remember events I may have mentioned from the last visit and truly treats you like a friend. I've seen their kids grow up through conversation as well as them seeing mine. Sherri has been cleaning my teeth for a long time and between her and Dr. Fox they have taken the time to always explain anything that needs to be done or recommend specialists that I may need. One time I had a temporary crown come out on a day they were closed and Dr. Fox meet me in her office in less than 10 minutes and fixed me right up. One nice thing about having a Dr live in the city they work in. Billing/insurance questions are always answered promptly and I never have to wait more than a few minutes when arriving for my appointment. Everyone always greets you with a smile. I would definitely recommend Dr. Fox and her staff at Fox Gentle Dentistry. read more

I could not recommend Gentle Family Dentisty more! Dr. Fox and her staff (Michelle is my hygentist and amazing!) are all so kind, and really listen to their patients to understand your oral health. I love that they offer more "natural" ways of polishing (salt spray) and the spa like atmosphere doesn't hurt either! I always look forward to the hand warmers, massage chair and essential oil hot towel after my cleaning. A great place for the entire family, kids and all! read more

Dr. Fox and her staff are incredibly thorough, friendly, and professional. The office was recently renovated and the updates are beautiful. The front lobby and examination rooms are both comfortable and calming - the massage chairs are a wonderful touch. I've had both Sheri and Michele for routine cleanings/exams. They are both fantastic hygienists and always take the time to explain what will be happening during the visit. I've also relied on Dr. Fox's expertise regarding invisible aligners for a noticeable gap in between my two front teeth. She was very thorough during my 6 week check-up visits and was accommodating throughout the entire process. I love the results and I trust that Dr. Fox is the main reason I had such great success with the aligners. I would highly recommend Dr. Fox and the entire staff at Fox Gentle Dentistry. read more

First dental place I've ever walked into and felt pampered, it's as if I walked into a spa. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly, welcoming and kind. Fox Gentle Dentistry lives up to it's name! Hygienists are extremely gentle but thorough, and give advice based on the health of your teeth. Dr. Fox is very knowledgeable and honest, making recommendations based off of what would benefit your smile and dental health. We have taken both our children here for severe lip and tongue ties. Fox Gentle Dentistry always makes sure to help us feel comfortable and confident in the treatment they provide. Our first born was only a few day old, and second was not even a day old when we brought them in. We had our newborns lip and tongue ties revised with Dr. Fox, and are so thankful we did! From scheduling to consultation, through the procedure and follow up (a call the next day and a check up 1 week post), we were very pleased. Dr. Fox was easy to talk to, Vica had a calming presence about her and Michele was perfect with our little guy! I especially like the written instructions and pre-filled insurance claim paperwork they provided to help keep this sleep deprived new mom organized! A month ago we found Fox Gentle Dentistry while looking for someone in our area who was capable of doing laser lip tie revision. Our (then) 7 month old had been struggling to latch properly without the use of a nipple shield, and due to age, Children's Hospital would not be able to revise without sedation and stitches. Sedation was just a risk we were not willing to take. A quick Google search and FGD was discovered and seemed like an answer to all our prayers. Initially, they were extremely helpful over the phone and answered my many, many questions. We quickly booked an appointment a week out and set aside the $300 we needed to pay out of pocket for the procedure. At first glance the facility, which is hidden off to the side in a strip mall, is impressive. There is a little area set up with free water and cookies and several signs stating the various amenities the practice will provide to its patrons such as headphones for tablets and phones. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to my three year old who had to hang out in the waiting room during the quick procedure. The procedure itself was fast and not particularly enjoyable to watch or be a part of, but I expected this much. Before we left I repeatedly asked about aftercare instructions, since several friends who had also had to have their babies lip ties revised mentioned exercises that needed to be done every few hours for 4-6 weeks. Dr. Fox assured me that nothing of the sort needed to be done and that none of her patients had ever had it reattach. I left feeling confident that I had done the right thing through a knowledgable provider and that we would now have the magic cure to our nursing woes. My first bit of trouble came the morning after the procedure. We woke up with a pretty sizable spot of blood on the sheets where the baby had been sleeping with his mouth open. I wasn't overly panicked but did feel it was necessary to touch base with Dr. Fox to be sure this wasn't something to be concerned about. I spoke with the front desk and was informed that Dr. Fox was in a meeting and would call me back shortly. I waited the rest of the day and never received a call back. I called that night and left a message requesting a call back and also never heard back. A week later I called because I was concerned that the area was, in fact, reattaching because I had not been doing the exercises other friends recommended (I assumed that perhaps their information was outdated and was reassured by Dr. Fox herself that they were not necessary). Once again, I never heard back. It is now almost a month later and my son's upper lip tie has completely reattached. I would call Dr. Fox's office to voice my concerns, but given the track record regarding their communication, I am certain I would never hear back from them. Aside from the frustration of literally throwing $300 down the drain, I am pretty upset that we put our baby through a painful procedure that was a waste due to the lack of up to date information about the extremely important after care exercises. I have since spoken with several very knowledgable lactation consultants who have stated they DO NOT recommend locals to FGD for this very reason and instead send patients to a dentist in Green Bay or one down in the Chicago suburbs since these two do laser revisions and DO provide patients with the proper aftercare to prevent reattachment. I assure you none of Dr. Fox's ULT and TT laser revisions have had any problems reattaching "to her knowledge", as she repeatedly told me, because they cannot get in contact with her after the process to receive any kind of answer and once they realize how incorrect her aftercare advice is they choose to forego returning to her and find a different dentist to once again correct the problem. We are trying our best to work around it, but we will likely have to pay to have his upper lip tie revised again, except this time we will spend our money elsewhere at a provider who truly specializes in this procedure. On my end, I definitely regret not spending more time researching and networking with lactation consultants beforehand. Overall, if you're looking for a cavity to be filled, Fox Gentle Dentistry might be a great place. You can enjoy some refreshments and be starry eyed over the nice facility. However, if actual knowledge on up to date practices and good communication matter to you I recommend you find a different dentist, especially if you are seeking a lip tie or tongue tie revision. read more
