This is the only place my husband will go, because it's the only place that has been able to put him (relatively) at ease. Dr. Lee is truly amazing. He is always so patient and communicative, with an incredibly gentle and friendly demeanor. He never rushes you into anything, but rather gives assurance and encouragement to help settle nerves. The staff are always helpful, engaging and committed to working with you and your insurance. Very few people like going to the dentist, but Eastside definitely makes the experience better. read more

I truly fell in love with this dentist and his staff a few years back, and for my last cleaning and chipped enamel fix I paid up front for the complete cost of service and was told by his customer service representative that Delta was still accepted by them, but I was not told they were no longer in Delta's network. Needless to say, I was only reimbursed for 97 bucks for the over 275 dollar cleaning appointment and only reimbursed 156 bucks for the 504 dollar charge they got me for within a week of my cleaning for a chipped enamel fix that didn't last but a year and half from Dr. Galka fixing it before all of this. They blame the insurance company for not letting me know and even claimed that they sent me an email regarding being no longer in Delta's network. Nope. Never happened because I work 3 jobs and pay for dental insurance to avoid being in this type of predicament. I would have switched offices immediately since I cannot afford their prices at Eastside Dental Lesson here is do not take their word for ANYTHING financially related to your treatments here without investigating all the avenues in relation to your care. read more

I have been going to this location for over 30 years. I have recommended them to many people, most of whom have become long time patients. The staff are great, including the dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and office staff. They offer a variety of payment plans, as well as a membership option with many opportunities to save money on dental work. They use state of the art equipment, and have a beautiful waiting area. I recently had my wisdom tooth removed, which may not seem like a big deal. But this was the first tooth I ever had pulled, I'm 19 years old so East side Dental was also the first dental appointment I ever made myself. I was incredibly nervous before coming here. The staff, especially the main dentist(pardon me forgetting his name!) are incredibly kind and skilled. He walked me through the entire procedure before beginning and it was over quicker than I thought. But the main thing is that my mouth healed with very little scarring. Overall for my first experience especially with such an uncomfortable procedure, I was incredibly happy and felt well taken care of at this office. He even personally called me after the procedure to ask me about how it was healing and give suggestions. I went to this office because of the convenience of the location. I was seen by a Kurt Behlmer, I was very nervous and he made no attempt to calm my fears. He was standoffish and unfriendly + unprofessional. He didn't bother to even explain the procedure nor tell me what materials he would be using to repair my teeth, I wasn't given any instructions on how to care for my teeth afterwards either. Because of this , I had to come back 3 additional times for this clown to finally get it right. Definitely didn't inspire trust in me after this experience & I made sure any friends and family stear clear of this place. read more

I came here because I won a whitening certificate. I have lived in Milwaukee for eight years and I NEVER saw this place before. When I walked in the staff was very friendly and open. They made conversation while I was waiting, and even cracked some dentistry humor. It was quite entertaining. When I met Frank Galka he was very polite and went through everything step by step. He gave a lot of insight and answered all of my questions. He is very nice and not your typical scary dentist! I actually thought it was fun going here.... Which is rare because most dentist appointments are depressing. The office isn't anything fancy but I LOVED how he had pictures of his family and different accomplishments along the walls. It wasn't your typical advertisements. It seemed very family oriented here. This overall was an exceptional experience. I really like this place and plan on making this my permanent dental home. i used to see a great dentist on n humboldt ave. He retired so i decided to try another local . They only have 2 dentists here & both in my opinion are very untrustworthy. I have had to come back numerous times for refillings & "adjustments" due to permanent fillings FALLING OUT after a few months. I was constantly harassed about root canals, the most expensive & painful procedure. They had to have been using temporary resins in order to force me back for more expensive work. There was a Grafton co dentist charged w/ healthcare fraud for charging ppl for unnecessary crown procedures, he was ordered to pay $1 million in forfeiture. This is no different. I was in terrible pain thx to this unprofessional & criminal behavior, when i asked for pain killers , i was given FAKE prescriptions that i couldn't fill. I also asked for a written record of all my payments & procedures & never received it. I guess they were to busy being rude & condescending to comply. Time will tell if this latest replacement filling will fall out also. This experience has left me even more skeptical of dentists & medical professionals alike read more

I'm a college student living in Milwaukee from Chicago and I switched to Eastside dental in February of 2020. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment, to when I first stepped into the office, I knew Eastside dental had an excellent practice. The staff, from the receptionists to the dentists, are all wonderful, professional, and welcoming. In a matter of one visit I am on track to start Invisalign and I couldn't be happier with the way each member answered questions and discussed payment plans, etc. Also compared to my previous dentist, this office is far more technologically advanced. I referred my boyfriend here and he is scheduled for his first exam and cleaning this month. I've never been more excited about my teeth and going to the dentist! I feel that the dentists here try to give good care, but they are somewhat careless and out of touch with their patient's needs and the issues they face. I left the office very upset and afraid to go to a dentist again because of a bad interaction with Dr.Galka. He made me feel very ashamed of my dental issues. Another friend who went there said he would not stop making comments about her piercings and felt uncomfortable that a medical professional was commenting on her appearance. I spent a lot of money there trying to save one tooth, because I was told that it was possible and did not have enough money to work on another tooth. I lost both and I have to live with that now. I had to have an ER visit. Erica answered my call, and offered me three appointment slots in the next three days. Are you kidding me? She completely understood my urgency to have something done, and worked with me. You know how you can tell when somebody cares? Well, Erica cares. So does the entire practice. Dr. Behlmer treated me. He was very genuine. And as tear was rolling down my cheek - not because I was in pain, because I was emotional. A gentle hand was placed on my shoulder by the sweet hygienist. Dr. Galka was recommended by a neighbor. I would also recommend this dental practice - hands down. I was wowed. As far as insurance...if you have Delta Dental - you are golden. I came in for the initial exam and cleaning which took a total of two hours and I was presently surprised. I worked here as a hygienist for two years and Dr. Galka and Dr. Ribeau are two of the most thorough dentists I know. The office itself was considered an eye sore to me, but has a lot of character. It is not "sterile" feeling like many dental offices in the area. It could use a facelift and technology upgrades to make the office more efficient and esthetically pleasing. Watch your insurance benefits, payments, and all claims with a close eye, as the front desk is VERY chaotic and unorganized. I know they are working hard on better organization at this practice, but lack in communication between staff members and their patients. All in all, this is a great office for emergency visits and routine dental work. I'd stay clear on major dental procedures and if lack of organization and cleanliness would bug you. They do offer many specials with their patients on cosmetic dentistry. The reason why I left this office was due to lack of organization, and the pressure to sell, sell, sell dentistry to patients and to meet monthly sales quotas (not a place for healthcare). Their push on dental work to patients, in my professional opinion, is a bit more aggressive than I'd like. read more

I called to set up an appointment and was told that I need to come in for a consultation before I can schedule a cleaning. Odd, but I assumed it was policy, but then I found out my coworker who referred me just had one appointment. The consultation was comical, but overall and okay experience. Dr. Galka is a very peasant. It took an hour for x-rays, background, and a bizarre measurement procedure where the dentist sticks an implement up your gums 3 times around each tooth. I have never had this done before, and gauging from the advertisement for it on the wall, it's probably not necessary. That part I didn't like. I came back a couple weeks later on a Saturday morning for my cleaning. I sit down with the hygienist ("What do you do?" "I'm an engineer." "Oh, did you go to school for that?" YES I WENT TO SCHOOL FOR THAT) before the other (female, don't remember her last name) dentist comes in. I understand that it is widely accepted that dental cleanings are not particularly pleasurable experiences, but I've never been so uncomfortable. The dentist did the cleaning (unusual), and was not the least bit graceful about it - my gums were bleeding and I couldn't help but flinch... I'm generally a good sport about these kind of things. And on top of all that, I get questions like, "Are your teeth sensitive?" "Yes." "Do your teeth hurt when you eat ice cream?" How is that an appropriate question to ask a 24-year-old? You are 30, there is no need to be condescending. The office itself hasn't been redone since the 70s, equipment (excluding the x-rays) and all. Maybe okay for small children, but then again I wouldn't submit a child to that. read more

The team at east side dental is really awesome. I called on a Wednesday with a minor dental emergency and even though I hadn't been there in two years they were so nice about fitting me in for a filling that same week. After having a pretty horrible experience at a large corp dental office, Dr. Galka's office was a breath of air. The office receptionist is great, and pretty much has kept me on top of all my insurance information, making sure that I don't go over my limit. The dental assistant is the sweetest lady ever, and the dental hygienist clearly explained the entire process while she poked and prodded me. Dr. Galka was great, the complete eval felt very thorough, and he went through what was needed for my teeth to get back on the right track. At more recent appointments where he's done fillings, he's very gentle and will gladly explain what's happening. As mentioned before, the office is kitschy, and definitely a 70's flashback, but what can I say, it's such a great place, and I am so happy with the work Dr. Galka has done. read more

Just wasted an hour of my time after being misinformed that my appointment was just for an exam rather than cleaning. Got a postcard saying new patients got a free teeth cleaning so I figured why not! Why not, indeed. The office is a bit ancient and IDK if the hygienist was new or if their equipment was cheap (maybe both), but she took a dozen x rays of my teeth. I do not like the idea of getting cancer. They charged me for filling the wrong tooth! I spent alot of money out of pocket at this office (Dr. Galka's name is on the door but there are more dentists there) and went back to have two cavities filled. She, Dr. Reneau, did two fillings but one of them was the wrong tooth. It was hard to tell as my mouth was numb. But, I figured it out and, when she said she was done, I pointed out the two teeth she was supposed to fill. She filled the other tooth that she was supposed to. But, she charged me for filling all three teeth. I pay out of pocket and that was a big deal. Then they threatened to put me into collections if I didn't pay it. The hastle of collections and the credit hit isn't worth the $153 to me; so, she won. I asked to talk with her about it and she just left me waiting after her assistant told the receptoinist that she was done. I left and here I am. read more

I chose to leave this dental practice, where Dr. Ribeau was my dentist. I'll spare most of the details but I came to be very unsatisfied with the quality of care I received. The staff and Dr. Ribeau were very nice and I enjoyed them, but at a certain point treatment issues began to outweigh that.
