Armstrong Dry Cleaners ruined my Calvin Klein winter coat that I was about to take on a cold weather vacation to wear. I took my coat to Armstrong in Oxford and 3 days later my husband picked my coat up. He didn't lift the bag to look. He assumed Armstrong was a professional dry cleaner. I didn't lift the bag off of my coat until we were leaving the house, on our way to the airport. I had to rush to a department store to buy a winter coat to take with me to Germany. I took my coat up to the cleaners to show the clerk what they did. The clerk gave me a fake website name however I was able to leave a review on Google, Facebook and now Yelp. Beware of taking anything here to be dry cleaned! read more

After reading the reviews, I was nervous to bring my items here but as a new Miami student with dry clean only items, I had no other option. Dropping them off was easy, however I was told to pick them up the next day at the wrong time so I showed up a little early to get my clothes which is my only complaint. However, the clothes look great and they managed to get some stains out I thought were there to stay. Would recommend! read more

The worst service ever. Its better to wash in your washing machine and then blame it to yourself when your clothes go bad. The owner refuses to take responsibility even when he knows that he screwed up. I got my clothes after dry cleaning with pink stains all over. For this white shirt he said it has a pink stain coz you kept a pink slip in the pocket and for the Beige pant his excuse was the inner red lining of the pant. In short these guys suck at what they do. Don't even know how to do thr damn job. Never recommend to anyone. read more

There were so many wrinkles on my garment, I don't even think they actually dry cleaned it.

I didn't even know whether it would be a good idea to go here, so I called first. I just needed a few patches sewn on and an alteration for a military uniform. It took a good 45 seconds for someone to actually answer the phone, and when they finally did, their voice sounded like they were mad that I had interrupted something. Well, needless to say, I looked to yelp for answers, and found Suds City's number. They offer the same alteration services on Tuesdays and Fridays, except their staff sounded friendly and thanked me for calling. Thanks, Robert U., for the suggestion! read more

Despite all of the bad things I'd heard, I decided to chance it because I needed some shirts laundered quickly. I absolutely regret that decision. My entire shirt is full of creases that they pressed in and the sleeves couldn't look worse. Even the fabric seems to have something wrong with it, I can't even describe it, but it manages to make my nice dress shirt look like a $5 special. It's absolutely appalling. They assured me they would stay open until 7. Got there a little after 6, and they were closed. Had nothing to wear to my friends wedding. Closed on Friday due to holiday. I will never trust them again. If you are smart, you will go elsewhere. read more

Hours work nicely for me. Was able to drop around 12 and pick up at 4 the next day. Uniform cost about 7 dollars. They got rid of the stain I pointed out. Fortunately I didn't have any problems like the other people have posted about. Just a little lint here and there. read more

Concur with other reviews written, particularly the comment about the owner. In all my interactions with the owner (three occassions) he was very smug, self-righteous, defensive, and didn't seem to care that I was a customer bringing him business. And when I had issues with the service rendered, he said my expectations were too high! Those simply being that there were smudges and wrinkles that appeared that weren't there when I brought the shirts in. Haha! Guess I should lower my expectations?! He recleaned and repressed adequately three of the four shirts. But the fourth he would not take responsibility for and it is one of my best shirts, now ruined. It was easier to cut my losses than to try to get any compensation for the shirt from this guy. He said there is no way he could have caused the stains on my shirt that he originally said was from starch and would wash right out. He could admit no wrong-doing or even offer any type of apology. There is one other dry cleaner in town but the hours are 9-5 making it inconvenient to drop stuff off. I will deal with that small inconvenience in order to never have to use Capitol again. I would strongly recommend that everyone else do the same! read more

Terrible dry cleaners and POOR work ethics. I dropped my suit off on Tuesday (2/17/15) for the Miami University Charter Day Ball and they told me it'll be ready the next day after 4:00pm. I arrived there the day of the ball (Saturday @ 3:30pm) and they were closed. The sign with their hours say they are Open Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and I showed up at 3:30pm. There was another guy there who was sitting there for 20 minutes prior to when I got there who also needed to pick up his suit. I tried making several phone calls to figure out why they were closed early, and no avail. Today (2/22/15) I picked up my suit and asked why they were closed. Their excuse was "because of the weather." When I spoke up and said that nobody was aware of the closing and no sign posted stating why the closed early, they said "Well the other lady lives in Libertyville and the boss let her go home early. We were open until about noon and then she left." So nobody could still post a sign or anything stating they closed early due to weather? I then said I refuse to pay for the services and she said "I can't let that happen because the boss isn't here and he's on vacation right now in California." Then she goes back and looks for my clothes and she came back with 1 shirt and I said "There was more than just that.. I had pants and a vest." She replied "Well the ticket says 1 item." She went back and found my vest and my pants and then when she rang me up, she charged me for the pants and vest as well. Mind you when I first dropped off ALL THREE ITEMS, the total came out to $11.70, and today it came out to $14.52. So to sum all of this up, I had to go buy a complete new suit because they're idiots. Poor excuse and poor work ethics. The weather was fine except for earlier that morning. They're irresponsible and untrustworthy. You'd think being a dry cleaner when people NEED those important expensive outfits. read more

I dropped off 4-5 shirts before heading out of town for a conference. They were ready on time and everything seemed to be going according to plan. I pulled out one of the shirts that was white and blue pinstripe at the conference and the colors had bled. It looked like the shirt had been stained up and down. I put it back in the closet and decided to take it back to Capitol upon my return. I spoke to the owner (Mike) and he offered to run it through again. He said he gets one of these a year and that it should return to 99%. He ended up running it through 4-5 more times. In the end, it was a far cry from 99% once he had finished and the shirt was now faded. I explained that at this point, I thought it was reasonable to have Capitol replace the shirt. He disagreed. He suggested that the shirt was probably counterfeit and that he would not replace the shirt when it was the shirt's problem. Frankly, it was a condescending discussion and I could see we were going nowhere. I finally told him that I'd find another cleaners to do business with and he seemed pretty ok with that. read more

This establishment is awful!! I, like Sarah, have taken military uniforms here and gotten them back with creases. Furthermore, I took my tailored dress shirts here and they gave me the "toasted" variety of drycleaning. Yep, they burnt the cuffs of my blue and white dress shirts. I have been using this cleaning service for 4 years now. My husband mainly uses them to have shirts laundered and pressed. Occasionally I have taken items in - I don't have that many things that I can't do myself. That being said, they have completely ruined several items of mine and although they have refunded the purchase price on these articles each time, I have decided never to use them again. Recently I reluctantly sent them a beautiful chartreuse linen dress I've only worn twice and it came back totally ruined. It looks like it was laundered with something red. NEVER AGAIN. I created a yelp account just so I could write a review for Capitol Dry Cleaners. They are absolutely awful. I bought a nice suit for interviews and took it to Capitol. The jacket came back with wrinkles in it that weren't there before I took it in. The crease on the front right pant leg was steamed out by them down to the knee. So now my suit has a left leg with a proper crease and a right leg with the crease half gone. They turned an expensive suit into something that looks as if it was purchased at a dollar store. I called them to explain the grievance and I was hung up on. Now I have to fix the crease issue and take it elsewhere (Suds City I suppose) to get the other wrinkles steamed out. Tell everyone you know in Oxford not to go to Capitol Dry Cleaners. read more

Since most of the complaints on here about Capitol Cleaners had to do with shirts and suits and were a bit out of date, I thought I'd give them a try. WORST. MISTAKE. EVER! I took a beautiful queen size comforter in for its annual cleaning after having moved to Ohio and it came back in shreds ... I mean literal shreds. The worst part, they didn't even tell me that they had destroyed my comforter. And it's clear they knew, because they made a half-hearted attempt to "repair" it by pulling out the manufacturer's stitching at the top edge to fix the fiber fill and after they screwed it up even more, they stitched it closed in what can only be compared to a two-year old's attempt to make a scarecrow with twine! I dropped off 5 shirts and 3 pairs of pants to be dry cleaned. The pants were cleaned and pressed without problem, the shirts however, were not. One shirt's top button was cracked and fell off. Another white shirt was returned with a brown stain on the collar. It took about 15 minutes with a Tide-to-Go pen to remove the stain. The worst of the shirts ended up being shrunk on the left side, so much so that the buttons no longer line up. The shirt is now unwearable. To top it off, I took in a coupon from the Capitol Dry Cleaner's website, but this location does not accept coupons from the website... Due to this company's terrible cleaning services I am no longer a customer. read more
