Such a cute chocolate and ice cream shop, with fast and friendly service. I really enjoyed the delicious and creamy Sponge Candy plus the chocolate truffalos, which are amazing. The ice cream is perry's, and there is a lot to choose from.So come enjoy something sweet ,you will not be disappointed.

For your protection I will not write you a 5 Star review.

I suspected Fowl play when I first saw the prices of these chocolates. But now I realize that Fowler's are probably second only to Alethea's in terms of delicious Milk Chocolate Sponge Candy in the Buffalo region, which sort of is home to it, and where it was invented. Fowler's is very overpriced (like Alethea's), but unlike its crosstown rival, it has many locations, and is also used in Sponge Candy Ice Cream (made by local mega brand name Perry's). I'd definitely recommend trying Fowler's to anyone who likes chocolates, but bear in mind it will set you back a decent amount of money. This particular store is friendly and usually not too busy, but there are a few other locations I like even better.

Love the sponge candy. Best place in Buffalo for chocolates but I buy my Easter candy at Oliver's in Batavia.

Ask the Community - Fowler's Chocolates

We received a one pound box of Fowler's Sponge Candy. The outside of the pink box mentions dark chocolate only, but there were two equal size pkgs inside and one is almost certainly milk chocolate. Is the interior supposed to be hard and gritty?

Hi Alene, If your box only said dark chocolate and you had milk chocolate as well as dark chocolate, I would please ask the person who gave it to you, where they got it from and let us know so we can check our stock. The inside of sponge candy is… Read more

I walked around and didn't notice any plant based, allergy free options but that doesn't mean there aren't any, I just didn't see any as I made my walk through. What I did notice is that chocolate is ridiculously expensive and with all that I've learned about chocolate, I can't help but wonder if it's even chocolate. I didn't ask either... all I know for sure is that everyone says this place has the best chocolate in town so I'm here buying a few basket stuffers. Before coming here, I stopped at Fowler Chocolates around the corner and no one was there so this place must be the place to buy chocolate. I watched the ladies at the registers ask everyone before me if they were rewards members and when they said no, they asked if they'd like to be. They forgot to ask me though. I overheard someone say it was 10 percent off today, must've been for members only, I didn't get a discount. I will be enjoying my dark chocolate tonight though, thank you Wahl's.

I even got to try a sample of the peanut butter sponge clusters before purchasing which was great. The loganberry sponge is good but it tastes more like a raspberry to me than the traditional loganberry. It was still good and their sponge candy is some of the best I've ever had. It's perfectly sliced and covered on every corner so there are no dry spots. Very good production on the candy pieces.

The lady behind the counter was super polite and very helpful with my selections. I typically do my chocolate shopping at one of the competitors stores however I thought I would try Watson's chocolate and my first impression was very high. One of the items I purchased was orange sponge candy and she had a little concern that maybe some of it wasn't up to the high standards that they try to abide by so she asked if you check the box first. She explained that during the summer time sometimes sponge candy doesn't survive the trip for too long so no problem I said she gloved up and checked all of them, found a couple that weren't passing her quality control standards so she replaced them. I took that box and a couple of other selections, paid and left. One of the other items I tried was fudge meltaway which I had never actually had before. Personally my wife and I didn't care for it however that is probably just our personal palate coming into play as I'm quite certain it wasn't prepared improperly or anything. The coconut patties were very good and the orange sponge candy honestly some of it was kind of chewy. The fact that she had some concern over the quality of this and felt the need to check it kind of threw up a little bit of a red flag for me and after getting it home and having some I'd have to say I'm a little disappointed. I'm not by any means a connoisseur of sponge candy or anything however if what she said was true about it staying fresh during the summer months and obviously she had some concern that it may not have been, why wouldn't you just pull all of it off the shelf and make more? I mean I used to manage a restaurant and it's the same idea in my opinion, if you're not happy with the food going out, don't send it. I would rather have purchased just milk chocolate sponge candy and been reassured that they didn't have orange because it failed their quality check. So I took one star off what would have been a five star review for that reason, the other one I took off because I couldn't find the building. If you approach this location from the side that I did, the side that faces a little strip mall with a good sized parking lot, there is no signage of any kind anywhere that says hey this is a store that sells chocolate. It just looks like a house sitting on a separate property off to the side. My GPS said I was there, I'm driving around the parking lot for 5 minutes looking at all of the store fronts trying to find Watson's chocolate, and it doesn't exist. I finally put my GPS on walking directions and found myself approaching like I said what looked like somebody's big old house... And I didn't even feel comfortable doing that until I got about 6 ft from the door where there's a sheet of paper sized sign that says Watson's chocolate and has the hours posted. I mean seriously something that could be seen from the road would have been nice, something that could have been seen from the parking lot would have been even better. Apparently if you approached this from the other direction there's a great big sign so I would have had to have driven past it not realizing it and did a u-turn and then I would have said oh there it is. The lady working inside like I said was very super polite and I suggested that to her and she kind of looked at me and said the owners are aware of it but they haven't done anything about it yet. I'm guessing nobody local has a problem because yeah they probably know where this place is however I live over 3 hours away and didn't have a clue. So yeah I'm kind of mixed as far as my opinion of the actual chocolate, I might go back and try a couple other selections and see how they taste. If I do I will try a different sponge candy, maybe one that sells more often so the stock is rotated more often.

They had never been to the area and we made sure to take them to Alethea's And introduce them to Buffalo's finest sponge candy. Last week was our aunt's 95th birthday. She loves chocolate and we wanted to send her some for her birthday. I saw that we could order candy online, but I called the store directly to see if someone could deliver it to her (she lives less than 2 miles from the store). I spoke with Teddy. He was wonderful. I explained what I wanted and he said they normally ship even locally. When I told him where our aunt lived, he said that he, or one of his associates, would be happy to deliver it in person. Teddy delivered it that evening. It was a great start for our aunt's birthday the next day. She was delighted with the sponge candy and chocolates. I had asked Teddy if we could have some sponge candy delivered to us in Texas. He told me that offered an ice pack for an additional $5 to keep it cool enough to survive hot weather. I ordered some candy and it was delivered 2 days later. Sadly, the candy was in the UPS truck from 9:30 a.m. until delivered that evening at 5 p.m. Even with the ice pack, the Texas heat was too much. I took pictures of the melted candy and sent to Teddy. He immediately responded and apologized and said he would contact me when he was back in the store. He called and said that he didn't want to try shipping a replacement box of sponge candy, but credited the entire amount back to my credit card. Outstanding candy and outstanding customer service. I will try again this fall to have some shipped to us in Texas when the weather cools down. Highly recommend Alethea's for those living in the local area as well as for shipping (when the weather is cooler).

I am in the process of building my mold collection. All four walls (and a little alcove) are lined with molds (of which I'm sure, some change for the season/holiday). There is even a section with a couple of boxes of molds that are on sale. Molds range from $1-up. With most being around $2.50. They carry Merkin chocolate at VERY good prices. Along with almost anything else you would need for candy making. Their oils are wonderfully priced, as are their boxes and wrap, and foils. It really is a one stop shop.
