I think it's the best in WNY. They have it is chocolate, dark and orange. My favorite is orange chocolate and we stop every so often for miniatures. During Easter we bought chocolate cover marshmallows sprinkles with nuts. Those were divine. This is a definite chocolate stop for everyone. Once you come here you will come back. Parking is on the street, but usually you can find a spot even during their busy times.

Unfortunately, there are only a few truly unique candies on offer; most all of the inventory is mass-produced candies and bulk sweets. This is more a retailer than a confectioner, as it seems like they don't really make anything in-house. They do stock local producer Platter's chocolates and sponge candy, and have some other loco-regional treats like Coffee Crisp, but otherwise it feels in most respects like any retail-only candy store. If you happen to be walking/driving by and need a quick glucose fix, feel to stop in if you have a few minutes and patronize a small business; just don't feel the need to head out of your way for it.

They had a big banner hanging out front that said they sold Buffalo's famous sponge candy, so I knew I had to stop in. This small family-owned candy shop looks like it's been a neighborhood staple for years. It's been open since 1947! The sweet older lady at the counter was very welcoming to us as tourists, and even offered plenty of free samples for us to try. Now that I've tried it, I will say that sponge candy isn't my favorite. But we wanted something uniquely Buffalo to take home, and ended up purchasing a few variety bags. They also sell chocolates in pretty little designs and cookies too, all handmade! I couldn't resist a flower-shaped chocolate on a stick, which set me back about $2.50. I enjoyed it on the plane and it was very good chocolate. If you want to support a local business and shop local, Ko-Ed Candies is the place! There's limited street parking and it's located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so be aware that it may be difficult to find a spot on busy days.

No business ID, membership or other hoops to jump through. I love that I can pick up giant freezie pops here, the same ones you get from the corner store. If I go to a store they are $0.50-$0.75 a piece. If I come here I can buy a box of 50 for $7.50, which is $0.15 each. That's a steal. I posted a fair amount of what they sell in the photos, but they do have more. I would give them 5 stars if they got with the times a little more. The website currently doesn't work, prices aren't listed anywhere and last time I tried to use credit, they didn't accept it(that may have changed). Besides a little updating though, this place is great when I think of it.

I didn't ask either... all I know for sure is that everyone says this place has the best chocolate in town so I'm here buying a few basket stuffers. I watched the ladies at the registers ask everyone before me if they were rewards members and when they said no, they asked if they'd like to be. They forgot to ask me though.
