Since I was home, the least consideration he could have performed would have been to knock on my door and ask. I would avoid this tree service. Not only was he days late but he never contacted me to let me know he wasn't coming as promised the first time. I had to chase after him to get any info regarding a date. Obviously he doesn't write things down and depends on strictly memory, or he simply doesn't care.

So, me being at home and nosey, I noticed: They were affordable (she had gotten five quotes and they were the best one) They were fast (the tree was down within an hour and cleaned up with the stump gone before noon) They were well prepared (they had competent people on well-maintained machinery that operated very efficiently) They were experienced (Scott, the owner, was on site with his team and had decades of experience) So, I was impressed and went over to ask them to quote me for the 4 large (80') unhealthy pine trees that were near my house. (My kids nicknamed them "nightmare trees" with their holes and diseased limbs and vines) Now. Tree service is expensive, but based on what I had seen happening for the last couple hours, it was obvious that it would be the best thing I would spend money on this year, so I asked if they were busy in the afternoon. So one guy came over, looked over the area and the trees, and we agreed to a price, which they said they'd take a discount in cash. Cool. They ground up the stump in my back yard (they didn't have to, but it was very kind of them) They gave me the wood chips (two piles taller than our minivan) I asked if they could help with some of the branches I had piled up in the back yard (the chipper I was using was doing poorly with them) and they really went above and beyond there as well. They cleaned up/raked up everything from the work that they did in a very efficient manner. They were gone before 4pm. The kids at home thought it was a great show from inside the house. These people didn't even stop for lunch. I was really surprised. I haven't seen people operate with that level of professionalism in a while, and I strongly recommend their services to anyone who needs tree work.

I hired Steve to remove 4 pine stumps and 1 oak stump after I had tree removal by a company that…read moreleaves the stumps. Steve worked safely and had what appeared to me to be well maintained equipment. In fact, he did some sharpening before he started. He wore appropriate safety gear and put up a portable barrier to catch flying wood chips. The task was challenging due to an internet cable running very close by, a very close oak tree that we didn't want hurt during the removal of a pine stump, and then a medium size evergreen that needed to be undamaged during the removal of a giant white pine stump. As far as I can tell, he succeeded in protecting all. After the work, Steve did a very good job of cleaning up with both a blower to clean our drive and the edge of the street as well as careful raking. There is a significant extra cost to have him haul the chips so I chose to leave them and they ended up on garden paths. Price: Fair in my mind. It matched other quotes in previous years although I thought the cost to remove chips was high. Communication: The tree service said a stump grinder that they recommend would contact me. They didn't. I emailed and called two other grinders. There was no reply. I found Steve via an online search. He responded to my voicemail in a couple of hours and was quickly on-site to provide a quote. He was great.
