This landscaping job is a complete joke. The grass looks uneven, the plants are barely alive, and the whole yard feels like someone quit halfway through and hoped no one would notice. If this is "professional work," I'm the Queen of England. Absolutely terrible -- would not recommend to anyone. And Ayden... he won't play Fortnite with us. Hired Delanson Gardens to plant three spruce trees in front lawn. They had been delivered. Two were planted on a slant. When I mentioned they're off, I was told 'they're in the ground already.' Paid $735 Jul '22. Between January-Apr 24 I endeavored to dig out the trees to straighten them. After 15 hours of work hired someone to help with the smaller spruce. After another 15 hours of digging & feeling I would not be able to unearth rootball of second spruce emailed owner on 4/20/24, & 4/22/24 detailing the issue. I asked if they could correct the tree I was having trouble with. The 4/20 & 4/22 were not responded to. Also, the owner's marketing manner & communication prior to arriving is of a certain style; it was altogether a different experience when he arrived & the work was actually done. Delanson Gardens did excellent work edging 7 garden beds around my home in Delmar. Doug and his crew installed new aluminum edging and stone borders as well as pulled up/reused aluminum edging borders that were almost entirely buried in the ground. They spread river stone and/or mulch in all garden beds and built a timber border around my shed. Doug skillfully reused some landscaping rocks/stepping stones that were on my property (but not part of the current landscaping). Doug and his crew were courteous and professional. And they did the work on the originally scheduled dates (no delays). read more

Delanson Gardens may be an expert in landscaping, but is a complete amateur in regards to painting, which he lists his company as being an expert at. I hired Doug Fall and his company to come and paint my kitchen and fix up some related issues with the walls and ceiling. Not only did he do a lousy job for the little bit of work that he did, but he walked out on the job making a bogus claim that he was in a hostile work environment after I had pointed out the deficiencies in his work and the things he had overlooked and is now trying to get me to pay him money for work he never performed. That is laughable. Doug, in my opinion, is disingenuous and not a stand up guy. He does not take ownership of his mistakes and doesn't stand by his work. Avoid at all costs read more

I used Delanson Gardens after a foundation contractor tore up a large portion of my back yard. Although they were far from the lowest estimate, their scope of service showed that they paid attention to the details of my particular yard conditions and soils - rather than the just "seed and rake" proposals of other companies. Doug gave me a professional assessment of what should be done and then gave me a date for the proposed work. On the eve of that date he called to say that they would still come but the weather conditions for the following week were poor and it would be better to wait another week, which we did. Doug and his crew were on time, did their work quickly and explained how to care for the seeding before they left. Five weeks later most of the grass had sprouted but there were many bare spots that I was concerned would fill in with weeds. I emailed Doug to explain the problem and asked if he would provide me with additional seed. A few days later, as a courtesy, two large bags of seed were delivered to my door. I would recommend Delanson Gardens for their professionalism, great communication and care after the project completion. read more

We hired Doug to redo our small front yard. His price was good but the results were awful. Although we followed all his directions regarding water etc, three months later, half of the front yard is dead and the other half is full of weeds. He sent somebody to kill the weeds but was very unsuccessful. That was the last time we heard from him. We are very disappointed and feel we wasted the money. Not only the front yard looks bad, we need to reseed it, adding more money to what we already paid, only three months ago. read more

We have used Delanson Gardens since shortly after they formed the business. Doug is a class act, you won't find him in a suit and tie, but in his jeans, uniform shirt and Delanson Gardens ball cap, on his knees smoothing out your top soil or mulch by hand. You read that right, by hand. He transformed our backyard into multiple flower gardens, replaced a significant amount of "critter damaged" lawn and trained my wife and myself in how to nurse the new lawn along, it came in weedless, thick and lush. I had no idea how much water and care a new lawn needs. His and our labors were well worth our efforts. Doug is not your typical lawn and garden fly by nighter. He and his team will be at your home on time, sometimes literally at the crack of dawn, and if need be, they will be working past sundown. Folks, we have been in this house 42 years, used several lawn companies, but no one has ever come close to Doug's expertise and genuine professionalism. We celebrate our 50th Anniversary this summer, and will proudly have friends and family visiting numerous times, and you can rest assured they will all enjoy with us our Delanson Gardens lawn and rock gardens. I don't think I've ever been treated so graciously, or kindly by a contractor than Doug and his crew. He power washed and stained my deck and also removed some overgrowth from my backyard. Each and every task was completed to the upmost satisfaction. I highly recommend Delanson Gardens! read more
