I stopped at this one because of all the "spinners" by the side of the road. Those fun things that spin or move in the wind. They can be soooo cute in the right yard (which we do not have sadly). They also sell mums and presumably other flowers in the Spring. The plants looked good. I think this is a greenhouse first and foremost. They have some creative ways to display your plants as well. Very fun. As I was here in late Sept, the pumpkins and gourds were out and looked great and healthy. Inside there are all sorts of trinkets and other little chachkies (sp?). I found this store to be a very fun place to stop. Lots of cute things. Gave me some ideas. But the pricing did not allow me to purchase anything. Just too high a price point for this gal.

My mom is my source of all things gardening, and she told me to go to Story's. I looked up the website (which is great) to see what they had in stock. Under "fruiting plants" in nursery stock, I found what was basically a comprehensive list of all the fruit I could think of...so we just decided to head over and take our chances. When we arrived and walked around a bit, I realized that they actually HAVE pretty much everything on that comprehensive list, because this place is massive and awesome. I don't think I can possibly list all the things they've got, but I feel pretty confident saying that their selection is better than anything you might find in the surrounding area: Trees, shrubs, evergreens, bushes, perennials, herbs, succulents, conifers, flowers, vegetables, vines...you want plants, they've got the plants. They've also got all the garden supplies you need...plant food, fertilizer, seeds, pesticides, tools, a gorgeous selection of pots, and hooks, and garden gnomes, and more. I didn't know I needed netting to keep the birds from eating my blueberries, but they did, and they've got the netting you need. I should note that my mom frowns on netting your berries, as she believes we need to share with the birds...but she's just a much better person than I am.

After paying my regards to their resident turtle in the pond in their greenhouse, I usually can't resist bringing home a new plant-baby for myself - even if I am there to shop for others :) I had to replace a houseful of plants after relocating from across the country and every plant I have gotten from Mount Williams Greenhouses has thrived. I have also been the recipient of their delivered flower arrangements, which as others have agreed, are lovely to receive and give. The service is the warm and personal, a rare small-business that still seems to care about the customer. Highly recommend!

I was in a pinch and needed pointsettias for Christmas. There was a very limited selection…read moreavailable early afternoon. However when you procrastinate you cannot complain! And I was able to purchase two potted poinsettias very easily. Two staff members greeted me and were helpful to speed up the experience. There were also trees garland wreaths and other decorations spreading a wonderful pine scent. The ornaments appeared to be a deep discount right before the holiday. Two white and red blended poinsettias will set you back 84$
