My husband and I stopped in Sunday afternoon after brunch at the Riverview- We love it here ! They had delicious cheeses that we were able to sample - even a delicious organic cheese called Manchebo -- so perfect ! There is so much more than cheese here- Peach Balsamic Vinegar- Fig Balsamic Vinegar- Salts- Crackers- Lots of Olive Oils !! What a great place and lovely owners !! Will certainly be back !! I've just gotta give a big shout-out to Fourchette for being not onlyt a cheese shop extraordinaire but the best little shop around. I was in there three times during the holidays for cheese and wonderful gifts. They seemed to have everything I needed to give sweet little presents. From their aromatic spices and black salt (fave!) to cute little zippered pouches with an etsy handmade look, lovely lavendar lotion, and delicious tea and oils. To top that off they're the most gracious retailer around with lovely holiday music and an inviting atmosphere. They even give you a treat. Hat's off to you Fourchette! We love Fourchette. Last summer I stopped in every other Friday - we love enjoying wine & cheese at home with friends on Fri nights. The owner is wonderful - he gives you samples to try & recommends cheese based on the type of wine you are having. Right when we think we found our favorite cheeses, there is always another. Additionally my other favorite purchases are the balsamic infused vinegars. The fig is a favorite and a staple in our house. Recently tried the black walnut and think that will also be another favorite. The vanilla is good too. Definitely try these when you stop in Fourchette. read more

Amazing selection of not just cheeses but syrups and tonics and sauces, and coffee. Truly a haven for people who enjoy gourmet food. The gentleman that seems to be the owner is very quick to dole out samples. Went one week to buy some cheeses as a gift and picked up Three Chiles Simple Syrup to make cocktails which were fantastic. So good we went back this weekend to get more and more syrups for cocktails. Only thing keeping from 5 star, I can't read the handwriting on the signs so I don't know what anything is until they print out the label (usually just buy our favorite from what he offers up as samples). I also wish the owner was a little more chatty since he clearly knows his stuff since he stocks amazing products (this is really still a positive) and I want to learn more! Great addition to downtown Clinton--we're so glad that they're here. Pricey? Yes, but you get what you pay for! Cheeses, oils, and vinegars are phenomenal. Not sure if you want to spend that much? Try a sample before you buy. The owner is friendly and accommodating, encouraging you to try things and purchase what you like--but he's not pushy about it! No...he doesn't make the cheese here. Out here in the boonies of Warren/Hunterdon counties it can be quite a challenge to find quality food items. My fresh-off-the-boat French husband and I were recently lamenting the cheese situation at our local Shoprite (which is certainly better than none, but we're a little snobby when it comes to cheese... France will do that to you...). Lo and behold, my coworker walks in one morning raving about the cheese shop we found in downtown Clinton. On Wednesday, we went to visit Brahim and his lovely shop - the interior is beautiful, charming, and authentic. I have visited many shops in France that have a similar aesthetic and shopping experience. You can purchase salt and pepper mills, beautiful table linens and serving ware, quality olive oil and vinegar (which you can taste, of course), and then the piece de resistance, the cheeses. When I visited with my coworker, Brahim and I happily chatted for a while in French and we proceeded to taste high-quality cheese from around the world. It's just so nice to know that someone cares that much to take the effort to procure the best. He typically carries a variety of goat, sheep, and cow cheeses from both the US and Europe - we tasted Roquefort, Dutch Gouda, Spanish Manchego, and some others. While the prices may seem exorbitant, the majority of these cheeses are imported/produced on small farms and difficult to find in this corner of New Jersey. For special occasions (and perhaps more frequently!) I am happy to pay for such quality. The owner, Brahim is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about his products, in addition to being super friendly. On Sunday, I returned with my husband as a surprise and he was delighted to find such a great shop close to where we live. We came home with Roquefort, Manchego, and a small piece of Gouda, in addition to rosemary olive oil and aged Balsamic. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about our experience at Fourchette. I hope the shop continues to thrive so we can look forward to many years of good cheese that don't require a plane ride home. read more

This place is wonderful! Didn't have any expectations when walking around Clinton, but this is definitely a great find. Walked in expecting to just look around, but ended up leaving with multiple delicious cheese, infused balsamic vinegar, and black lava sea salt among other things. The Algerian owner is so nice and knowledgeable and it was really the samples that convinced us to buy all the items. He has quality products so it makes sense he'd offer samples to potential customers to convince them it's worth purchasing! read more

My husband and I stopped by Fourchette to pick up a few cheeses for a picnic, and were delighted to find a cheese shop that transported us back to our time in France. The selection of cheeses was beautifully curated, and the gentleman taking care of us listened to our cheese preferences (we LOVE cheese) and had us taste a few other cheeses that he thought we'd like. My personal favorites are the meyer lemon olive oil and the peach balsamic. I have used the peach balsamic with fresh tomatoes this summer and loved the combo even including some fresh peaches. Full disclosure: my sister works here. But I live in the Boston area and wish we had a shop like this near me. They have a wonderful cheese selection about which the staff is very knowledgeable. In addition, they offer a nice selection of other gourmet foodstuffs,, French table linens, olive wood and other serving pieces, and even really nice body products. I've bought several gifts here (cheese slate, cheese knives, and elongated olive wood bowl for crackers; olive wood salad bowl and serving spoons) which were a big hit. read more

Just purchased a sampling of the cheeses in Fourchette yesterday as part of an Easter Brunch I was preparing for friends. All 3 cheeses were absolutely delicious and I am thrilled that it's in Clinton, very close to where I live. It's predominantly French cheese and you can't beat that. The blue cheese was strong and sweet and full of flavor, I had two others equally flavorful and of course you are given a sample to try before purchasing. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and I found them to be well worth it. Good luck to Fourchette, I hope you succeed...we need a little bit of Paris in our neighborhood. With Christie's bakery just down the road, we are making good progress towards that. read more
