Other family members ordered a plate of prawns, smoked salmon and soup (£10.95), and a rarebit and soup (£6.95). We shared a cheese platter (£8.50) for dessert. Every bite was exquisite. There is a pool table at the back of the pub which is always really busy and you can either get bar meals or go through to the restaurant for something to eat

Both times we were greeted by a very nasty female bartender. The hot drinks that were served were pleasant but I'm afraid that is were the quality started to go down hill. Four of the group ordered Eggs Benedict. It was served with a very tired looking salad, which in itself is rather an odd side for Eggs Benedict, including dry wrinkled cucumber. The poached eggs were all hard boiled. On complaining to the waiter and asking for new eggs we could hear swearing from the kitchen! Before the food returned my friend found a thick black hair in her salad. We decided at this point that all appetites were lost and decided to go else where.
