There is a pool table at the back of the pub which is always really busy and you can either get bar meals or go through to the restaurant for something to eat

The hot drinks that were served were pleasant but I'm afraid that is were the quality started to go down hill. Four of the group ordered Eggs Benedict. It was served with a very tired looking salad, which in itself is rather an odd side for Eggs Benedict, including dry wrinkled cucumber. The poached eggs were all hard boiled. On complaining to the waiter and asking for new eggs we could hear swearing from the kitchen! Before the food returned my friend found a thick black hair in her salad. We decided at this point that all appetites were lost and decided to go else where.

Very friendly hotel staff to help me find it - one of them walked me over to the correct door to solve my problem. Small room, hard bed, but also a warm room so I slept well by putting the blanket under me and using the bed sheet as my blanket (it's not fitted). Decently quiet night, good rest overall. Verdict: Why not stay in this unusual place in this nice Welsh town?
