On our arrival the owner, Martin, was immediately on hand to help with luggage and welcome us to the lovely Ty Mawr. We were delighted with our huge suite room, named after previous guest Kiera Knightly, the bedroom with lounge area was dual aspect overlooking the free range chickens and lovely grounds and larger than the whole of our own upstairs house! The luxurious and modern bathroom with a spa bath and rainshower made for a very relaxing pre dinner freshen up. The hotel suite rooms also have their own computers with free broadband, maybe not the speediest of computers but useful for looking up local places and event. Tea tray included delicious home made biscuits, only tiny criticism could be lack of variety with only standard but high quality tea and coffee sachets. An extremely comfortable and huge bed which we were sad to leave. The food, as the previous reviewer of Ty Mawr has written, is delicious and of a very high quality both for dinner and a wonderful breakfast...want more home made bread and toast yum.

The welcome from the owners is like being greeted by friends. I have eaten in their small restaurant on three occasions. On each occasion it was full. The clients include many locals who have, like me, discovered this little gem in the midst of West Wales. The food is sourced locally and the menu reflects what is in season. The rooms are generous and beautifully furnished with modern, lavishly fitted bathrooms. The hotel has 5 star rating and the restaurant has been awarded 1 AA rosette. Unfortunately the first room had a plumbing problem but a change of room was immediately offered. The second room was fine but a little dated. That said everything was clean and the bed comfy. There is a small bar at the front of the hotel and looks over the park, I had a couple of pints before dinner. The food was all home cooked and excellent quality. I started with pate and had a main of ham egg and chips. Large brandy followed and off to bed. Must make special mention of the breakfast it was one of the nicest full English I ever had. Proper sausage and bacon with black pudding and poached egg. Perfect! I would stay here again no problem. B&B was £120. Dinner about £35.

The setting was beautiful and the outside terrace was stunning. We went on a quiet chilly day and i'd def go back again. There is a full comprehensive menu with plenty of choice for vegetarians. The food is ok, they suffer from having quite a large menu which personally I always fuind a bit worrying. Had the usual type of childrens menu, prices are standard, but always a bit unhappy when I pay anything for foof which I don't think has been freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. The staff are friendly and helpful and toilet facilities are ok. The real draw to coming here is the outside terrace and its postion in the town. You can sit on the rear terrace in lovely sunshine (well obviuosly not every day!!) and enjoy a pint looking out over the harbour. Unfortunately on really lovely days in the summer it can get quite busy outside, but I do thinkit is worth hanging around in the hope of grabbing a table to be able to relax with glorious veiws for an hour or so.
