He has a small shop, not fancy, all out in the open with his work tools. He fixes watches and changes batteries too. I found Gold Touch Jeweler on the web. I searched for jewelry fixed near me. I liked the fact that he has a video of his work. I felt he had nothing to hide. He does his work on the premises as you wait. I expected to be told to come back for 5 items but he took care of me right there. I am always afraid I will never see my gold again when sent away, with the way gold cost today, and big-name retail chains fix nothing on the premises always send away and charge an arm and leg. While waiting, I overheard the next customer that came in she was referred to come here for sizing that no one would touch her engagement ring because the rock was bigger than the setting. It was bought at a pawn shop, size 9 and she is 4. Without hesitation he explained setting too thin and rock is too big makes the ring flop around but he could bring it down to 4.5 just enough to get over her knuckle. She said, okay. I was like WOW in my head. He cleaned my jewelry and would ask me questions as he went along with specifications or concerns when gold was hollow or solid and how it would solder. Based on what was done with my jewelry, I was charged $40.00 each and I was happy with the price and the work. I have been quoted $150.oo each at big retail store (parts and labor). Despite this, the associate loudly questioned whether the stones were "fake," which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I was also told the necklace was 14k, even though it is stamped 750 (18k) and had recently been confirmed elsewhere. At that point, I chose not to proceed. I went to another nearby appraiser afterward and was treated with professionalism and respect. I value good service and tend to stay loyal once I find a place I trust, but based on this experience, I won't be returning to this establishment.

My husband purchased a beautiful necklace for me and the clasp stopped working right away. The clasp was so tiny I could not get it on myself and it would get caught in the pendant because it was so small. It was an expensive necklace and should work properly so I went and asked if they could put a crab claw clasp and they told me that would cost $200 more even when the other clasp broke right away and did not work for the necklace. I told them I would prefer to return my necklace if it is going to be $200 more. We were not rude or loud about it. I saw a similar necklace somewhere else for half the price but we wanted to support a local to our area family owned business. They then said they would replace the clasp for free to avoid a return. When my husband went back in to pick it up they told him we are no longer welcome to shop there. That was an easy one for us as we would have never gone back anyway after the way they treated us. I had an uneasy feeling about them and what they would do to my necklace after I left in their hands. I would never trust them with anything of high value again.
