We had a large company retreat that brought in a significant number of employees from out of the country into Lincoln. Many of them expressed an interest in learning to shoot, given the unique opportunity to do so. As a result, we contacted Big Shots and asked if they could accommodate us. Not only did they handle the presumably rare situation of teaching 27 folks how to shoot, they did so with with both professionalism and enthusiasm which set my colleagues at ease, and gave them the confidence to both respect the weapons and enjoy the activity. Hey, if you can't get the little things done like updating your website, good luck getting the big things right. So stop biting off more than you can chew. I bought a gun from them and they overcharged me and it took over ten days before that was sorted out. My friends brought their handgun there to have night sights installed, and it was installed incorrectly and the gun shooting off centered. What a joke of a bunch of blow hards.

My son recently started getting into hockey, and we went there hoping to get some help with skates and gear. Unfortunately, it was clear pretty quickly that the hockey department just doesn't have staff with much hockey knowledge. Whether it was skates, sticks, or general equipment questions, there really wasn't anyone who seemed confident or experienced enough to help. The most frustrating experience was when we purchased skates and were told they had been sharpened by the Scheels staff. After my son had a very negative experience on the ice, we took the skates to a rink, and the staff there confirmed the blades had not actually been sharpened. That kind of thing makes a big difference, especially when someone is just starting the sport. If you're serious about hockey equipment, save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that specializes in it. Prices are very competitive elsewhere, and the staff actually care and know what they're doing. Pure Hockey on 72nd is absolutely worth the trip. Scheels does a lot of things well, but hockey just doesn't seem to be one of them.

This was the best Sunday afternoon therapy session I've ever had. I got there right after it opened, and it wasn't crowded, I spent half an hour taking shots at my selected target, and as I was leaving it started to get busy. Ammo was inexpensive, I needed more because that clown target didn't have enough holes in it. As long as they keep the clown target in stock, I will be back again and again and again.
