This is the second back porch/cover they have built for us. The last one was at our previous home,…read more20 years ago. This time we also had them build us a kitchen island inside. Every job has been exceptionally well done, and we'll definitely hold them in high regard for our next project. Pros: They simply do great work, meeting or exceeding expectations every step of the way. Expert craftsmanship and tons of experience. Project managers take the hassle out of dealing with individual contractors. (David and James were great to work with.) They also anticipated concerns before I needed to mention them and even replaced some siding that I had damaged before. Cons: Among the most expensive options, but you do get what you paid for. Original estimate was about 20% less than the final bill. We paid significantly for upgrades to the counter top, the decking, and the porch ceiling. The estimate was based on the cheapest options evidently. The lesson I learned is to ask for those specifics at the time of the bids. (Possible other bidders did the same.) Had to hire a separate company to complete the gutters. They initially said they'd move it from the original roof line to the new one. In the end, they realized they were unable to do it and unwilling to refund anything. One mitigating factor is that another section needs to be built from scratch, so a gutter guy was going to be needed anyway. They don't do painting! Fortunately, we discovered Painting Solutions Houston who did a great job.

We had our first floor completely replaced with large-sized porcelain slabs (which are difficult to work with), our wood stairs and 2nd floors completely re-stained, all the carpet in the house replaced, our kitchen repainted, and our study converted to a formal living area. I am extremely picky and hard to please but was very satisfied with the quality and price of the work. Further, Floors TX completed the job on a very tight schedule. Mike is a man who stands by his work and stands by his word. He was always available on-site when needed even though we live fairly far from his store/office, and he made sure the job was done properly and perfectly. He and his crews all have a keen eye for detail and are knowledgeable in their respective crafts. And on a personal level, Mike is just overall very friendly, kind, and easy to work with. I will not hesitate to hire FloorTX for future projects and recommend them to others!!
