During my youth, Fosters Freeze was like the I-n-O of the Central Valley of California. I was excited to see that there are still a few of them around. When I came across this location, I decided to stop in and give it a try. Granted, it isn't the old school walk up of yesteryear, but the food did take me to back in the day. The crinkle cut fries, double cheeseburger and diet coke sure hit the spot on that hot fall day in Visalia. Service was a bit lackluster, but the food more than made up for the poor customer service skills of the staff. I probably won't go back, but it was a nice try.

A Foster's Freeze "twister" was a staple of my childhood, so it was only natural that this be my first stop for a sweet treat when in Visalia. Unfortunately, either my standards have gone up or the quality has gone down. My concoction was sort of a mess and nothing like the quality mix I remember munching on as a kid. The biggest issue was stale candy ingredients. I got vanilla ice cream with a mixture of butterfinger and snickers. I watched them scoop crushed up chinks of the stuff into the ice cream in the back, which didn't look especially appetizing, and it turns out it wasn't. Some of the candy bits were so stale they were impossible to chew and lacked a lot of flavor. Plus the thing was so sloppily made that half of it was constantly dripping out the sides of the lid. I've been here twice over the years and both of my twisters were the same, so it's safe to say this is how they come now. In conclusion, great concept, poor execution.

I absolutely LOVE Fosters! Now granted I mostly come for the ice creams but the kids that work at this fosters are always pleasant and they have great customer service. Right now they only have the drive thru open but I only go through the drive thru anyways. The wait doesn't ever bother me because it's the same anywhere you go in a drive thru like in n out or farmer boys and for me, the twisters here are worth it. They are HUGE and sooo filling! They definitely do not skimp out on the mix ins! Also the dipped cones are a great size. The small is a medium and the jr is the small. They make everything as soon as you order it md they have the window where you can see them in the kitchen getting down! I recommend to give this place a try!

If you want overpay for crappy over cooked food this is your best bet! Ordered a 4 piece chicken strips combo for my son and I swear there were a total of 10 fries with this $10 mea!! A total rip off. You are better off going virtually anywhere but this place. Used to live Fosters Freeze but this location is trash.

    Chocolate Chip Milkshake.

Loved, loved, loved their Chocolate Chip Milkshake for years!!! A vanilla shake that they added the chocolate shell they would use for dipped cones and blend. So good!! Today for the first time I got a chocolate chip shake and it was mostly chips like that is used to make cookies. Some people love chocolate-- but this was way too much!! Looked like cookie dough-- and won't go up a straw.

Crappy hamburger..the patty is so thin!!

Customer service was fast and friendly. The inside was clean, so no complaints there. The food on the other hand was disgusting!! except for the fries. The hamburger was literally the same size as the kids meal hamburger, and guess what?? So were the fries!! Both hamburgers lacked taste, and the sauce was gross. I can't believe I spent 13 dollars, on 2 meals, and I ordered the cheapest ones. I will definitely Not be returning!

I like milk and its by-products, especially ice cream so this place seemed like a natural place to visit. And, even though it was small, and even though it is not in anyone's map of California places to see before one dies, this place was a tourist attraction that I will remember till the day I can no longer enjoy milk and the mustache it leaves behind. When we arrived to the spot there was a sole attendant, his name was Anthony and he was endearing to the max. I explained to him an abridge story of our road trip and why we made it a spot to visit. He was like really, like he could not believe that this was an intentional stop on a multi hour road trip. I was like, in my mind, this is not a Thrifty ice cream run bro, this is like a milk experience, of course it is a spot on a road trip. What I did say was like--- you are wearing a uniform, (like one of those that (I Love) Lucy waited for in the 1950's), and there was a window into a factory with workers producing milk, and you have souvenirs, thus the joint is a stop to engage with, a stop to plan for, a stop that naturally fits in someone's road trip's tour. After I said a version of all of this, his smile and eyes became wide, like he really was understanding that his presence and this joint was not just a local milk joint but could be a pit stop that can go white with fame. My intention was to get a milkshake but Anthony explained that they did not sell any. I mean I accepted it quickly, but with some lament as a milkshake is my favorite ice-cream by-product, but I made due with what I could. First, I got a chocolate milk in a bottle. Anthony was kind enough to open it for me. I used to be a big fan of chocolate milk, cause it was a staple in the school's free lunch program and I always found it refreshing and sweet and cooling. Which makes me want to define the difference between refreshing and cooling in terms of taste. I guess refreshing makes one go ahhh like after taking a sip of cold cola, and something cooling makes someone feel the crisp of cold within the body, like eating a chilled lemon paleta/popsicle. And on this day, I drank a bottle of milk and found it to be a nostalgic snack down to the last sip. It is important to note that Denise noticed that they had flavors like Orange Blossom milk, and banana ice cream flavors. So this places dares enough to think outside the box or should I say milk carton? Anthony was also lovely enough to bring out samples of their packaged ice cream. I will be honest I cannot remember all the flavors I tried but I think there was cookie and cream. And the ice cream tasted rich, deep, and fresh, like it been churned recently for pure enjoyment. Like it was meant to be good first, then sold next. And thus at its core it was artisan, not mass produced. I guess that is why they explain their products to be "farm direct." Since I could not get a shake or a cone, I decided to get one of their ice cream sandwiches. I went with what I tasted and knew to be good---- the cookies and cream. This decision was also based on the cookies they used. I reviewed the picture but the cookie was not listed. I ate the sandwich outside in the car, and every bite was a morsel of smooth crunch and velvety ice cream. It was familiar and new, it was reason enough to want to visit the place again. In fact I tried too, on the way back from the road trip but it was closed on that day. Too bad, I have put it on my return spots, I found it to be that wonderful, but again milk, ice cream, and all that it stems from it, I am a fan of, so it makes sense for me. But until then, I got the sweatshirt I got from this place to remember it!

We already…read moreknow Bravo Farms for its fresh food, so we were excited to experience the more elevated menu and enjoy drinks at the bar. The upstairs has an open seating concept, with only a few tables reserved ahead of time. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and casual, with low lighting, large comfortable chairs, and an intimate feel that's perfect for a date night or relaxed dinner. Keep in mind that the prices are higher than downstairs, but so is the menu. We started with a White Linen cocktail, which was incredibly refreshing on a hot summer afternoon and the perfect way to kick off our visit. We originally planned to order the Burrata Caprese with Fresh Basil, but they were sold out--which must mean it's a popular choice! Instead, we opted for the Maple Glazed Brussels Sprouts, and they were absolutely delicious. The dish featured thinly sliced Serrano chilis that added just the right amount of heat. The crunch from the walnuts paired perfectly with the feta cheese and balsamic reduction. Best of all, the Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly--crispy and tender without being soggy in the slightest. We loved this unique take on Brussels sprouts and can't wait to return to try more of the menu. Mia was our server and was both friendly and helpful, making our experience even better.
