went into the store at 10:04 pm... all staff was sweeping and mopping and the neon open signs were both still illuminated and doors unlocked so we waited and waited to order and after about 3-4 minutes of staring at them a girl came towards the counter, mop still in hand and we asked what time they close. she stated that they closed at 10 which was odd to me being as it is mooney blvd, and a friday night... but we said okay and left. as we were getting into the car and pulling out of the parking lot, not one but three other cars pulled into the parking lot and into the drive through. i jumped onto the site from google as my bf was driving and was extremely irritated to find they do not close at 10pm on fridays .. according to their google they close at 11pm on fridays and saturdays... why are the employees lying? or if newer worker... why are they so misinformed and the other two employees that were both within earshot not correcting them? the open signs were on and all the doors to the business were unlocked .. very very unprofessional. my bf comes here at least weekly as i live nearby... guess we will take our business elsewhere since the emplloyees at this location dont seem to eant our business ... shame, the owners/franchisees are losing money thanks to their staff. read more

I hadn't been here ever after living in Visalia for over 49 years. I got a cheeseburger, fries and a shake with butterfinger. The shake, they call it something else, was really good. When you've been to 90% of the other burger spots in town, but you still haven't found that (1) mom and pop place that really hits your foodie goals.. Foster Freeze was ours! We were both craving some soft serve, but really wanted something "other than McDonald's." We started looking around for Parfaits and behold! Fosters Freeze! Going to compliment the staff here! Went on a weds morning/afternoon that point around 11:00am/12:00pm. The gentleman who took our order and helped us at the window gave the best customer service! He was attentive, helpful, asked if we needed napkins, straws, etc. super kind and positive attitude! Already happy with the results from coming here! The burger was really good! It reminded me of old school Foster Freeze, but they changed the bun up! It's almost like a potato bun and a brioche had a baby! It was soft yet a nice density to hold the meat and toppings. The burger was "exactly" the mom and pop burger I was looking for! Fries are AMAZING!!! The BEST crinkle fries in Visalia! They have the right amount of seasoning, always crispy the way they should be! Chocolate Dipped Cone.. BOMB!!! Nice hard chocolate coating surrounding the most delicious soft serve! I got a small and it was more than enough! Pumpkin Milkshake.. Meh! I would pass on this. It really didn't taste like anything. Not like a pumpkin pie, not like a milkshake, just lacked flavor. Props on the Parfaits here! I didn't take a pic but it was covered perfectly in hot fudge, the soft serve "again" amazing! Overall I would say give this place a shot if you haven't been here in a while or if you are missing that "nostalgia" and are craving a mom and pop burger like I was! My husband and I had not been here in ages. At least 5 yrs. The customer service was good the restaurant was clean. I ordered just a regular burger no lettuce. The patty was SO freezerburnt I couldn't even finish it. My husbands patties also tasted old. This place has been a staple of the community for years, ever since I was in highschool. We went there this past sunday to grab a parfait after a sunday night class we had. The service was great, until they forgot to add the fact that if we took off the top of the parfait it would leak everywhere. And when I say everywhere, it leaked all over my pants and my car. I had top throw it away. I didn't even make out of the parking lot. I had literally pulled out of the drive-thru and parked and was going to eat it there, but it was pure milk. During my youth, Fosters Freeze was like the I-n-O of the Central Valley of California. I was excited to see that there are still a few of them around. When I came across this location, I decided to stop in and give it a try. Granted, it isn't the old school walk up of yesteryear, but the food did take me to back in the day. The crinkle cut fries, double cheeseburger and diet coke sure hit the spot on that hot fall day in Visalia. Service was a bit lackluster, but the food more than made up for the poor customer service skills of the staff. I probably won't go back, but it was a nice try. read more

A Foster's Freeze "twister" was a staple of my childhood, so it was only natural that this be my first stop for a sweet treat when in Visalia. Unfortunately, either my standards have gone up or the quality has gone down. My concoction was sort of a mess and nothing like the quality mix I remember munching on as a kid. The biggest issue was stale candy ingredients. I got vanilla ice cream with a mixture of butterfinger and snickers. I watched them scoop crushed up chinks of the stuff into the ice cream in the back, which didn't look especially appetizing, and it turns out it wasn't. Some of the candy bits were so stale they were impossible to chew and lacked a lot of flavor. Plus the thing was so sloppily made that half of it was constantly dripping out the sides of the lid. I've been here twice over the years and both of my twisters were the same, so it's safe to say this is how they come now. In conclusion, great concept, poor execution. read more

I absolutely LOVE Fosters! Now granted I mostly come for the ice creams but the kids that work at this fosters are always pleasant and they have great customer service. Right now they only have the drive thru open but I only go through the drive thru anyways. The wait doesn't ever bother me because it's the same anywhere you go in a drive thru like in n out or farmer boys and for me, the twisters here are worth it. They are HUGE and sooo filling! They definitely do not skimp out on the mix ins! Also the dipped cones are a great size. The small is a medium and the jr is the small. They make everything as soon as you order it md they have the window where you can see them in the kitchen getting down! I recommend to give this place a try! read more

This place is horribly ran. I've been going here for years and this is the second time I've had a problem and they are terrible at handling guests. Apparently their system changed and they no longer will put cherries on a kid's ice cream. I offered to pay extra, pay for a side, whatever I needed to do and they absolutely wouldn't accommodate so I had a crying 5 year old because of it. Not here to really comment on the food I just wanted to give some praise to Dustin Johnson. Very friendly and was hustling and working really hard. I appreciate that he washed his hands (and really good at that) after using the register and serving us ice cream after our meal. This location had horrible customer service. The first time I went, getting something from the drive through took about a half an hour even though there were only two cars ahead of me. I decided to give it another shot today and was once again disappointed. The guy who was operating the drive through seem annoyed when taking my order and was very short with me. After that, I only recieved a "here" when he was handing me my order.Furthermore, the dipped cone I ordered was incredibly messy when it was handed to me and I had to use a few napkins just to make sure Chocolate (which wasn't fully hardened) didn't get all over my clothes.
