A great new store with lots of selection! I stopped in for the first time on the 4th of July and was greeted by about 4 employees all at once. Almost in unison, they asked if I needed help finding anything. Loved the almost cheesy eagerness! :-) The prices were great at the store is organized very well. They had plenty of specials going on, not sure if it was due to the grand opening of it..or if that's the norm, but I got some great deals. Glad this little place opened up close to home! read more

CUSTOMER. SERVICE. That's why you should go here. They also have a pretty good selection for a smaller store. Great location right off of Custer/121 on the south side of 121. I had a good time chatting with the employees here, and they pretty much always do samples on the weekend that introduce you to new brands you may not have tried otherwise and give you great drink-mixing ideas for when you're having people over (or just need to unwind after a bad day). I know many people have commented on the prices, but they weren't outrageous. Other places may have better deals, but for service this is a great location! read more

Okay, this is probably the most convenient and underwhelming (in a good way, people) liquor store I've ever been to. They have a good selection without making you feel lost. Have y'all ever walked into some of the larger liquor stores and felt like you're trying to navigate a globe? I mean, maybe I'm just terrible at geography but dang...anyways, this place is small but has good stuff in stock. They are a smaller store, so sometimes they are out of something, but the employees are typically very knowledgeable about when their next shipments are, etc. Good selection of craft beers.Only deducted a star for price, but again, typical for smaller chains. Yes, my hubby said the prices are higher than Spec's, but we had company coming over. We were making margaritas and were in a pinch. We needed tequila and this was on the way home. Came in here today to buy up some liquor. We just moved nearby and needed to stock up. Never been here before. As I walked around trying to figure out what I wanted and where what I wanted was, not one employee spoke to me. They weren't particularly busy, just apparently too busy to speak to me. Two male employees near me were having a misogynistic conversation about how they think women should act. That didn't help me find what I wanted, though. I could have eventually found all the things I wanted, but I chose to put the bottle down that I eventually found and walk out. It's too bad, too, because I live in McKinney and this is the closest liquor store. I guess I'll just have my husband stop by Specs in Plano on his way home from work. read more

This is a perfect location for me so that's all I really love about this place. Good selection. Prices are about $3-$5 more than my other places but I am sure I'll spend more money on gas then so no big deal. I bought a bottle a big bottle of crown for $53.99 and small ciroc for $23.99. I've heard that Fossil Creek stores have great craft beer selections, and that is NOT the case for this location. They had one door of your basic craft beer, and then lots of macro. The customer service was good; I was looking for a specific brand of bourbon, and they found it for me. They were out of some items I needed, so I had to make a second stop, but the employees were nice. read more

The only good thing this place has going for it is the location. Prices are significantly higher than Total Wine and the selection is just not there. To add fuel to the fire the employees are not knowledgeable at all and the "manager" is incapable of managing anything. I don't want to go into specifics but they have no desire to keep the customer happy or honor their word. read more

I want to give zero stars. Poor selection. Over priced. I can't tell you how many times I was told that my favorite vodka was going to be stocked. I asked 2 of their employees for advise on a particular vodka. ....they told me it was infused. I get home and tried it....tasted like rubbing alcohol. I was told over the phone that I could exchange it. I went in...looking to trade in the $15 bottle for a $40 bottle Bombay. They said they can not take the bottle back because the seal was broken. And they can not get their money back. So..Fossil Creek was willing to lose $25 additional sale plus all future sales....over $15. Total Wine and More is not much further. On a typical Friday night they have samples from different liquor vendors however keep in mind you typically pay a premium for the liquor here then you would it say total wines for example a 1.75 L of captain Morgan is $25 at fossil creek where a total wines that same bottle is 19 bucks so you're paying for convenience if you live in McKinney tonight I have to drive another 7 miles to Frisco Plano were total wines is. Awesome new store. I got there right before closing, and wasn't rushed at all. They pointed me in the right direction of my liquor of choice... and it was cold. I wasn't in line that long, because they had two registers open. I also asked about a flask last minute, and was given one for free. I will definitely be coming back... With all the "mega" liquor stores opening up all around, it's refreshing to walk into Fossil Creek and immediately be greeted by Sam the store manager. You feel like a real customer. Sam went out of his way to help me find what I needed, and when they didn't have it at his location, he personally drove the the other store and called me when he had what I was looking for. This is a great store with a wide selection at good prices. The thing that sets it apart from the others, and the reason I'll always come back, are the people and the personal customer service.
