When we went to use them we saw that the 2 glasses of syrup were 21 years past their best before date. The dates were 1.3 years past their sell-by date. We handed it in to the store and were surprised by 2 young employees. One, a young lady, pushed the items back towards us and said "We don't take back those kinds of items." That, of course, led to an argument. As the argument got louder she said that sell-by dates only apply to grocery stores, not to liquor stores, and that it wasn't counted for food at their place of business. It finally ended up with us getting our money back.
