This studio is in the heart of Berry Hill, plenty of parking, up in a lofted apartment style space. It was lit with red infrared lights and heated, which was perfect for stress reduction and calm in the evening before bed. A newbie to Pilates practice I had a difficult time keeping up and felt this was for more advanced participants; however, I did not feel exposed so was able to modify and get the most I could out of it. I really loved the energy and vibe of this studio and maybe with more practice would feel more comfortable and confident!

It isn't, but all barre studios are a little different, and I've come to really enjoy the classes at Neighborhood Barre! I've tried several of their classes - Barre HIIT is my favorite right now because I feel the effects of the workout for days! It's a good workout. The instructors are really great, helpful, nice. The music played is really fun and helps me focus on the workout. Some classes are more full than others, but it's not jam packed of people. They offer a trial two weeks for $29 - and I highly recommend you check that out if you're interested in barre or NB in particular. You can also sign up for drop in classes on the Mindbody app (which I love). There's ample parking in the area even if the area can be kind of a pain to drive around (I always regret not leaving 10 minutes before I think I should if the class I'm aiming to get to is between 4 and 6, because I will inevitably hit every red light on Franklin Road for the whole drive). All in all, it's a really good studio. The classes are all different, so check them out until you find the one you love!

I was blown away by the skill & support of the Align 60 instructor, Leah, she was by far one of the best courses I have ever taken. I felt so connected to my body and aware of parts of myself I ignore so often. I really loved the gentleness and invitations to modify as needed, as well as, having a in classroom support to the instructor to come around and assist with posture, I feel so bad but I have forgotten her name. It was my first time using straps, but thankfully I was supported. All the other classmates were kind and there was enough space for everyone, even though it was pretty full. I failed to take any pictures as I wanted to be present to the moment, but one beautiful offering is a tea station near the restrooms, cubbies to place items, and a lavender cool face towel at the end of class. What a beautiful and inviting experience, excited to return!

I really appreciated how all of the staff take the time to communicate clearly and quickly via email prior to any bookings. Be sure to look out for certain discounts as well. For example, teachers and military get excellent deals - reach out to their studio email via their website. I just attended a private last week, and it was my first exercise class post-baby. I was a bit nervous considering my athletic ability, flexibility, and core strength were all so different than pre-baby. However, Hailey was equal parts encouraging, reassuring, and proactive. I felt accomplished by the end of the class, and the time went by extremely quickly. The exercise classes have something for everyone: there's a 101 for fundamentals, an athletic reformer class, a cardio reformer class, among several others. I can't imagine you would get bored any time soon should you choose to get a class package. Many of the class packages also come with guest passes, so you can take a friend. Parking near the complex is excellent: there's a huge private lot for the building behind the studio. A major plus for me is that they are so close to Jeni's Ice Cream and Frothy Monkey to name a few. (Possibly a bit dangerous in terms of yummy temptations. Ah well, that's why we go to pilates, haha.) Definitely give them a shot!

Walking into Fahrenheit Yoga already felt like I was betraying at least three generations. Somewhere, an uncle just shook his head for no reason. Hot 26(Bikram)at Fahrenheit is not yoga. It's a 90 minute hostage situation with stretching. The room is so hot your thoughts immediately file for divorce. First 10 minutes: confidence. Minute 20: regret. Minute 40: spiritual bargaining. Minute 60: God has left the chat, science is fake, and time is a social construct. By the end, you're just a damp, enlightened noodle. This class will: -delete your ego -uninstall your personality -defrag your spine -and factory-reset your soul I walked in with knee pain, back pain, hip pain, elbow pain, emotional stiffness, and a strong sense of masculinity. I walked out flexible, peaceful, and unsure who I used to be. This is better than pizza in Naples. Better than stouts in Ireland. Better than therapy, because therapy never made me sweat, cry, shake, hallucinate, and spiritually ascend while staring at a mirror. At some point I genuinely believed Hot 26 could: -fix the Arab world -end wars -bring Jesus back AGAIN -and make Him say "okay but why is it THIS hot" By the end of class, everyone looks like they survived the same disaster. No words. Just eye contact. Trauma bonded forever. Come early. Bring water. Do NOT come cocky. Fahrenheit Yoga isn't a studio it's a sauna powered personality eraser.

It smells beautiful in here, which is odd to say but if you've been to a stinky gym you know what I mean. The space is well designed and maintained. There is literally always someone cleaning/polishing/maintaining here, which I love. I'm mildly a germaphobe¿ this is a late in life development for me. The staff is so hot and friendly. You walk up through the cafe (get the strawberry protein matcha) and are greeted by some of the most gorgeous people alive. I don't know about you but I love working out surrounded by pretty people, I'm always like "if I do this workout I'll look like you". I take classes here like 4x a week. I do a mix of weights, Pilates, and barre. I love all of them, it's genuinely always one of my favorite parts of my day. Shoutout to Sarah, Dylan, Amy, and Tyler for kicking my ass every week. You could not ask for more informative, encouraging, and flawless people. They also never mind when I go "fuuuuuck" during class, or literally "fuck you" directly at them (sorry Dylan!!) as they murder me in a variety of toning ways, which is nice. There's also cold eucalyptus towels in the corners of the building which make the workout so worth it. That, and Calvin. Iykyk. Okay love y'all I'll see you tomorrow

I've been going to a great gym in Franklin for a while, but the traffic and scheduling difficulties…read moremade me decide to start looking for a new gym closer to home. I narrowed it down to Iconix and the downtown YMCA. So I scheduled a tour of Iconix. I was mostly paying attention to the weight room, as I focus on resistance training. The weight floor was huge, clean, and they had several lifting platforms set up in a way where you have your own little defined space. I went right around 6:30 on a weekday and there were plenty of spots open. They had a huge cycling studio that looked a lot like the Peloton studios, so if you're into cycling, that seemed nice! The cold towels were a nice touch. Parking was a little painful because you have to remember to validate every time. There were plenty of spots available in the garage though. Pricing was high if you were paying month to month, but if you commit to at least a year, it's starts to be pretty reasonable compared to the Y. Personal training pricing was comparable to other gyms as well. Ultimately I chose the Y for now because it's less commitment, and there's a location by my house and by my office. If it starts to get too busy for me, then I'll give Iconix another look.
