I have been a member for 6 years (about to be a former member) so I have seen both the best & worst of Forward. I initially signed up at the Century City office and then transitioned to the Glendale office after it opened. The offices are nice, and every employee I've ever dealt with has been very kind. The medical assistants who draw blood are always very good. But really that's about all you should expect to get from your membership fee. Don't expect to get to the front of any line, see any doctor quickly, for them to bend over backwards for you, to be more flexible with prescriptions, or anything else their marketing might indicate. Even though I've been with them for *6 years*, they still treat me like I'm some random person off the street every time I need something, which is rare. Depending upon the office, it can be impossible to schedule any appointments in the app -- literally no times show up and it says "sorry, we're having trouble finding available appointments". So then you have to message them, and "they will get back to you". Don't expect them to -- you'll have to bug them just like any other doctor's office. I have no idea if the few actual doctors I've seen even still work for Forward. I have no idea who my primary care doctor actually is or what his/her phone number is. When I see a specialist, I have no idea what to put down other than "Forward health" with a 1-800 number that I can find on the Internet. In summary, I've come to the conclusion that it's a complete waste of money. You can get faster blood draw appointments by going to Quest or Labcorp directly (where Forward sends your blood anyway), and you can go to the end of the line at every other doctor on the planet. If you have an urgent request, they will just tell you to go to urgent care. What's the point? Save your money! I wish I did. read more

After joining forward in November 2022, it took 2 months to get my initial appointment, and another 3 weeks when I had to reschedule my blood draw. You cannot use the app or schedule any consultations with their providers until you get your first blood draw. So I was not able to access the app, it's features, or a physician for almost 2 full months. Then upon arriving at my blood draw appointment I discovered the nurse who called the morning of had accidentally cancelled it. They still did my blood draw, but it took 2 different techs and 4 try's to draw my blood. Then somehow they didn't get processed or there was an error with the results to which I was never notified. So on my first appointment (which can only be done virtually, you cannot schedule it at a facility) the doctor had nothing to go over with me. I went in for a flu vaccine a week later and asked about my lab result delay, which is when I was told it looks like there was an error and they needed to redraw the blood sample. However I had not been fasting, so the results are now skewed because they were marked as "fasting", and I received notification the doctor wanted a follow up right away. I have not yet been able to schedule a follow up with the same physician and it's been almost 2 weeks. Thus far I'm pretty disappointed. The adds show you meeting in person in a state of the art facility with a knowledgeable physician. However this far I've only been able to have 1 virtual appointment where the physicians children kept coming in and out of their home office throughout the 30min chat. Because it was virtual the physician was not able to actual examine my body or see any of the issues I wanted to consult about. Also nothing beyond your basic vaccines and their initial blood draw is covered. You have to pay out of pocket for the genetic screenings, feminine care (pap smears, mammogram, etc), and any additional labs or testing that are recommended. Also I asked to have a nutritionist consultation as I am having some issues with food absorption and wanted assistance figuring out a diet that was catered toward my health, but that has not been addressed and if they need labs for that, I again will have to pay out of pocket for the additional testing needed. I think this was a great concept and if the facilities functioned the way they are advertised and you got the personal 1 on 1 time with a physician they pitch it may be worth the money, but so far I've paid almost $500, for a simple lipid panel and a 30min online chat with a physician. I will give it the remaining 3months, but thus far in my opinion you are better off searching for a good in network primary care physician with your insurance. Forward abruptly shutdown all of its operations on November 12, 2024, and informed members by email that they no longer had access to the Forward app and that all future scheduled appointments would be cancelled. As such, I was shocked to see that Forward charged my credit card for $149 for monthly membership fee on November 14, 2024 after they had ceased operations. This is dishonest! read more

This company will change your life long prescriptions ( such as thyroid and asthma medications) without notice costing you a lot of money. They do basics ok, but are very inexperienced with anything outside the realm of basic. Their help by the app can also be very disconnected as you also don't know who you will get help from, and it's difficult to have detailed conversations unless you drive down to their office in a mall. They're very quick to prescribe medications in generic form even though you've had the real ones for years. This happened to me with asthma medications and my wife with her important Thyroid medication. After finding out it was then from Anthem Blue Cross, they still didn't correct it. Very unfortunate, and cost us time, money and frustration. We just didn't feel like they were on our team, but instead we're on Big Pharma side. After two years we cancelled. read more

Went in getting basic onramp of care with Forward. no problems there. but when I got sick over weekend and monday morning 6:42am and tried to set a same day appt, was left getting the run around in their app. no phone support, they just park any concerns in the app without any customer service to help getting you scheduled. If you are expecting concierge medical care and pay $149 a month for it, you expect better. They didn't help and gave lip service in the app. Patient service there is pretty poor and you would be better served by going elsewhere. There is literally no phone support service # and the app seems to just take people and put them on hold. ie if you have a concern for time sensitive health help, they email their appt people and don't do much else. Poor patient service and even worse support leaving someone with a cold twisting in the wind. going to go to urgent care instead. read more

Terrible, terrible service. Couldn't tell you if they're good doctors because they will not call my mother back. She's been a forward member and got her blood work. She had a scheduled call where their site was not working. The help line called her (this was Monday) and told he they would call her back. We emailed. Called. Left voicemails. Today is Friday. NOTHING. How can we use a medical service where they claim to have 24/7 support and yet we are not hearing back? This is an ethical problem as well because if there is an emergency there is no way to get a doctor. We will go back to OneMedical because at $199 a year we get a ton of support and immediate access to a doctor. Great idea in theory, terrible execution. read more

I used Forward for 2 years and was very happy with the office and my doctors. Never had to wait, and the doctor never rushed me out. What changed it from being amazing, to not, was when I went for my final visit, because I moving out of state. I need a blood panel once a yr for thyroid medicine. I took care of it then moved to Colorado, only to find when I tried having my prescription changed to my new pharmacy, I found out instead of a year prescription, they only gave me 3mos and wouldn't change it unless I rejoined The closest forward office is 3hrs away in Denver! They only did 3 months because I told them it was my last visit. You can't talk to anyone, just email, and they are not helpful. read more

I would say the biggest positive about Forward is that the vast majority of bloodwork is included in the $150 a month you pay. Other than that, there aren't too many positives. There's no phone number to call the local office. You have to either use their app and communicate by text, or call their national headquarters. If you need to go in same day because you are sick (or even the next day), they can practically never get you in. I thought the main purpose of these concierge medical practices was to get really good service and be able to get in within 24 hours. Most non-concierge doctors will squeeze you in when they're full, if you're sick. So it's kind of absurd that Forward advertises as being a concierge service when the reality is that you get worse service than you do with a regular doctor. To add insult to injury, when it comes to getting prescriptions, they usually give you zero refills, which I don't understand. If you text them, they may or may not give you a refill. With most normal doctors at non-concierge practices, they will mark 2-3 refills on the first prescription, so you don't have to keep asking for refills. Anyway, I've been going to Forward for almost 3 years but I won't be going for much longer. You pay them a premium to be going to a "concierge" practice, but you don't get any of the benefits of a concierge practice. I'll be looking for a new doctor soon. read more

Super futuristic environment. Everything is high tech here including the bathrooms. They sent several appointment reminders before my scheduled appointment which you can always change or adjust in your app. I showed up early, check in is super easy NO waiting in a crowded office. They first put me on a very cool Body scanners that evaluates everything including your body temp, heart rate and respiratory health. Next is the blood draw, which went very well considering Im a hard draw. As soon as the draw was over she gave me some health bars to choose from Because of my fast. Doctor (Dr Nic) was very nice, very thorough and blood results came back fast! I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been a patient of Forward for nearly one year. And it has exceeded all my expectations. After trying so many different doctors, both in Eastern & Western Medicine and Forward is by far the BEST experience that I've had for a myriad of reasons. Here's some of the many! You have to go see it for yourself. It's not possible to describe it all in a review. I will give specific examples/scenario 1. Genuine PATIENT CARE 2. Amazing doctors 3. Focus on Preventative care & overall well being. 4. Cost, time & effort effective. 5. Transparency, upfront & no surprises 6. Accessible 24/7 7. Response time is barnone! Average 30seconds 8. I always feel heard & never rushed! 9. Follow up is unheard of! 10. No waiting, you get answers to health concerns. Example 1. This just happened TODAY, I sent them a message that I wasn't feeling good. In 30 seconds they replied with a number of question. Then they recommended I come in for testing, initially the appointment they I booked that they had avail was 230pm. But I asked if they had something earlier and they squeezed me in @10am. At 10:10am they took my vital and labs, by 1035pm results are in, I was diagnosed and the medical assistant handed me my "sick" baggie with tissues and medication. 25mins at no additional cost. No copays, no more worrying how much my visit would cost, no surprise charges. They will tell you upfront what is covered and what isn't. If a certain lab testing isn't covered They bill your insurance directly. so convenient and so helpful! Example 2. I was on vacation in the Philippines, I didn't feel well so I sent them a message, in 30seconds I got a reply. They asked me a lot of questions, and viola, I was diagnosed with recommendations. Example 3. I gained a bunch of weight and was worried about my overall health, during my baseline appointment the doctor carefully addressed ALLmy issues, physical, emotional, gave me a treatment plan, recommendation and encouragement, sent me home with a weighing scale that they can monitor remotely. I've never experienced patient care in this way! Lastly the FOLLOW UP is amazing! Since being a patient at Forward, I've really taken control of my health and we'll being, that's why I can't shut up about it. Give it a try! It's worth your hard earned money! read more

They are so overbooked in Century City that you cannot get an appointment here for things like lab tests or skin scans. I have been trying for over a month. It used to be great but now I am evaluating whether it is worth the monthly fee. So the only service for me is when I need a prescription when my regular PPO doctor is not available. read more

Wish I could add another star! This was the most pleasant and enlightening doctors visit I've ever had. It's completely changed my idea of doctor/patient relationship. To start, no waiting room because there is no waiting. You go right in. Next, why do we sit on the uncomfortable padded wood table with the paper? At Forward you sit in a plush comfy lazy boy chair. The nurse was awesome and the blood test? No plucking your arm forever searching for a vain only to miss it anyway. At Forward they have a special light they shine on your arm that magically shows ALL the veins running through your arm. The nurse marks and gets your blood easy peezy. The doctor walks in and says Hi, I'm Kevin. I say Dr Kevin? He says, trip this, yes, but just call me Kevin. Wow I can call my doctor by his first name? Not sure why but that gave me a really good relaxed feeling. Large 7' wide shaded mirror was actually a monitored that, when turned on, showed all your information and even had the test results the nurse just got from your blood test 10 minutes ago! The doctor patiently and compassionately review your information, listens to your concerns, responds to your concerns and not once looked hurried or impatient. He prescribed me a prescription, told me at Forward they prefer we visit quarterly, gave me a 23andme Kit to use and send them the DNA results to better evaluate your health, asked if I wanted the flu shot but didn't press when I said no and then left. Immediately after he left the nurse returns with a gift bag...WITH MY PRESCRIPTION IN IT!!!! How did she get it so fast? How did she even know what it was? She needed a urine sample from me so she gave me the bottle, showed me the bathroom and told me to leave the bottle in magic hole in the wall where it disappeared after you placed it there. Did I mention they did a full body scan the moment I walked in and got on the scale? Anywho, after leaving my urine I washed my hands, stole two paper towels that thick and plush enough to be hand towels and left. No one with no I was a chubby 50 year old living check to check. Following my negative review Carissa T replied that I should email them. To be clear, I expressed my concerns via 2 zoom meetings and multiple reach outs via their app and via email. They have a bunch of young, enthusiastic employees who say all the right things but aren't empowered to do anything. I repeat, this is a sham. As a small business owner I'm well aware that there are always problems but a company is and should be judged by their ability to resolve problems and step up with solutions. Well, apparently, I am not the only one who's been receiving such terrible care from Forward. I also like many others. I have been with Forward for a number of years. My experience with them in the past has been good never had any issues the first time I was in desperate need of help the doctor that I was seeing at the time prescribed me what I needed and it helped my situation immensely Not only are you paying $150 a month for years all of a sudden they changed. A month ago I went for a blood draw that was supposed to be done a while ago I finally go I get two different nurses I've been there for only six months each and did not know what the hell they were doing. I had big bruises on both my arms and no blood came out because I had to drink enough water when I was fasting the night before. Biggest bologna ever. That has never ever ever happened in my whole life. Now I have a major major sciatica traumatic event. I'm laid in bed for three days cannot move in excruciating pain And I ask for a particular pain pill that was giving to me for years prior with no questions asked and it cured my ailment at that time immediately. Now it's like pulling teeth and like everybody says you keep talking on the app back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth. Someone will be with you shortly. Meanwhile, two days and I still don't have my prescription. I don't know who took over this place if somebody has, but they have completely changed and they are no longer of service to what they claim to say they are. I am definitely canceling my membership with them also.. the whole purpose of joining forward when I have Medicare actually and I don't have to pay for anything was for the immediate attention you get from them and the doctors and prescriptions if needed. I just joined Forward. After joining I installed the app as instructed and filled out the info. I was planning on making an appointment in their Century City office because it is very close to my home. When I got to the section on making a baseline appointment the appointments were virtual. This is not what I was looking for AT ALL. So I called the office and there is no option to speak to a live person on the phone. You can't even live chat. I emailed through the app and received a response saying I would hear from them in the "coming days." DAYS!!?? This is some mediocre customer service. I plan on cancelling though I may go to the office in person and see if they can help. The reviews were good so this is very disappointing. They sell themselves as a different experience but my Blue Cross PPO is easier to contact! read more

At face value, you would think forward is a great service. However, after being a member for over 2 years. I have to say there are few benefits to their offering, and it can end up costing you a lot of money! (Lost nearly $800 so far, and potentially a lot more when my x-ray bill comes.) I'll start with the POSITIVES (I'm trying hard here): - When you get an appointment, there's no waiting and you get in and out fast! - When the app is working, you get answers to any questions within 48 to 72 hours - Friendly staff - Free protein bars, water, and sparkling water during your visit. - You don't pay for blood work, but there are certain figures they do not test for. The NEGATIVES: - You have to do more work evaluating their recommendations/referrals to specialists, because while they say they handle the insurance and finding providers in your insurance network, THEY DON'T! So, expect to do this yourself otherwise you'll be paying huge sums of money for their mistakes. My prior doctors never made this mistake, and it has cost me dearly. Here I come small claims court if they don't come back to me with a remedy soon. - It's pretty difficult to get an appointment, and you have to book at least a month in advance. - The app is horrible, the user experience and interface is so bad. The app is glitchy, filed with bugs, crashes, and they barely ever update it. You have to reinstall the app often. - If you need to see your doctor in a timely manner, good luck! My prior primary doctor made exceptions based on what was going on. Forward starts to feel like an assembly line and you realize you're just a number. - Your visits are with a nurse, and you rarely ever see your doctor. - The doctors change often, so no building a relationship or seeing the same person. This is a reflection of the company. Why don't the doctors stay with the company? - While they claim to have advanced technology, they barely use it and they double check the information with traditional devices i.e. checking your heart rate. read more

I really wanted this work out. I have great insurance but had trouble finding a good doctor. I met Desrocher when I joined and was pleased with his attentiveness, level of knowledge, and the prospect of dealing with most issues through the app. If I could rate just the doctor I would give him 5 stars. My issue is with the other stuff handled through the app, where general questions are screened by a NP. I have no problem with NPs theybare qualified professionals. However, during the 1 time a year I got sick I was let down by Forward. 1st strike, they forgot to submit my prescription to the pharmacy and had the audacity to ask if I went to the correct address. I was at the counter at the pharmacy 24 hours after Forward said they submitted my script. And I gor to look like an idiot to the clerk. Thanks for that. 2nd strike, I asked for a recommendation on cough suppressant without acetaminophen. And recommended one, I just grabbed it off the shelf and was using all day before my ears started to ring a bit. Guess what, it had acetaminophen. Great I'm already sick and now have probably done damage to my liver. Though I think I share some fault in this one since I blindly trusted the rec and didnt even bother to read the box. 3rd strike, ok I had enough. So I ask when my sub ends so I can cancel. They apologize and offer a free month. Ok, fine, I ask them to give me the date of the next time they're going to charge me so I can evaluate my options then. Ok they give me the date and promise to remind me. Later I go to look in the app, it's the wrong ducking date. WTH guys? 3 strikes I'm out. I'm going to urgent care tomorrow and I wish I had that $150 to cover my co pay, since Forward was no help at all. I couldn't even have a hot toddy tonight, because of I was afraid of further liver damage. (I said no acetaminophen!) Dr Roscher you rock! Forward, it's not me it's you. Sorry it's not working out. I gave 2 stars because that initial visit is pretty cool and the concept seems like it has potential. But it's not quite there yet, and 1st adopters like me are likely to be disappointed. Doctors I wanted were booked months out. Then twice, the doctor I was to zoom with was cancelled do to technological problems. Meanwhile I'm being charged monthly. I asked to cancel and full refund and they sent an e-mail welcoming me as a new member! Several people I know have cancelled. I want my money back!!! read more

Forward is the perfect example of a medical practice built by excellent marketers. I was sold on the promise that Forward is the doctor's office you've always wanted - without long waits, expensive testing and dealing with insurance - all wrapped up in a super high tech package. The first appointment was very easy to book - any day and time you want really. Then, once you're locked in as a member... Surprise! You can't get an appointment anymore! During my short membership, I fell sick twice and each time I tried to book an appointment, the earliest appointment was at least 2 to 3 weeks away. So, I ended up having to go to another doctor and pay out of pocket in the meantime. Thankfully, I didn't downgrade my health insurance to the lowest tier possible as suggested by the sales rep at Forward. Great concept, poorly managed. I was excited to join Forward as I'm very health conscious, active and vegetarian/nutrition focused, and was looking forward to progressive, well-rounded, forward-thinking care. But unfortunately Forward is really all hype and marketing, and I've already informed them I want to cancel after my 6-month trial. A few thoughts (way too many to share here, this is just a highlight reel): --no one wiped down/sterilized the machine that they use to take your vital stats - and you have to put both your hands inside/on multiple surfaces throughout the process. I asked the woman (who couldn't tell me anything abut the machine above and beyond the few bullet points she'd been trained on) if it'd been sterilized, and she claimed "Oh I'm sure they wash it every day". Not only is this gross and unsanitary, but this is a doctor's office so perhaps some of the earlier patients were sick? Now I have their germs all over both hands. --I was expecting forward-thinking, progressive care focused on overall wellness and preventative care. But their "screen" doesn't include a vitamin panel (which surprised me) and the overall appointment was clearly geared towards someone with very little knowledge about health and wellness. This is definitely not a fit for a savvy, truly health-conscious consumer. --The "self care" team is a joke. The left hand clearly doesn't talk to the right, and I've gotten so much incorrect and contradictory information to date that's it's gone beyond frustrating and is now just laughable. It's clear that patients are texting with a series of uninformed team members who aren't on top of your account, aren't pro-active in doing what they say they're going to do, apologize profusely and then make the same mistakes again and again, and so on. It's REALLY BAD. Enter at your own risk. I'm going back to my team at Cedars. Perhaps this is a fit for some, but if you're a healthy, well-informed and well-educated patient accustomed to working with highly competent individuals, you're likely going to come to the same conclusions I have. read more

My doctor was at UCLA for 6 years before and really believes in the future of preventable health I have insurance but if you didn't or had poor quality insurance this would be an amazing value. I went from writing a review so glowing (when I began with Forward in 2017) that it almost didn't get posted because it was assumed I HAD to be affiliated. The beginning is great - then be prepared to never encounter a human again. If you have lab work done, you'll see a person for as long as it takes to draw blood. I don't think I've had a visit over 15 minutes long in years. When you DO want to actually TALK to a DOCTOR- forget it. Also forget the novelty of having the SAME doctor who actually KNOWS you - that doesn't happen. YOU ARE A CUSTOMER - NOT A PATIENT. I haven't seen a doctor there in maybe 4 years. When I asked to see one, it's at least two weeks to get 30 minutes over the web ... with a stranger you've never spoken to before in your life. If you ask for anything (by app, by message) you get a boilerplate response from the "Care Team". You're a number, not a person. They need to sell less subscriptions and hire more doctors - but that would eat into their profits. read more

Fantastic experience from sign up to baseline exam. I was impressed with the clean facilities, the technology and the staff. As others have mentioned, the baseline exam is really thorough and lab results are available almost immediately. Thankfully everything was within range so I didn't need to walk out with much but they made sure I didn't have any open questions on the teatnus booster, and I didn't feel rushed at all. *** In the several months since having posted my original review, Forward has continued to publicly lie about my experience with them while blocking me from being able to respond. They have said I never visited their office, which is a lie. They said I mistakenly signed up for the wrong city, which is a lie - their software defaults to San Francisco rather than your location and even when changed reverted back. They said I could easily schedule a baseline visit - I can show emails that stated I'd need to wait 3 weeks due to doctor shortage. This company is scary. Not only have they failed to provide a better service than traditional healthcare providers, they're both worse and exceedingly unethical. That they have gone to such great lengths to sweep bad experiences under the rug should speak volumes - my own and two others who left negative reviews on Facebook were blocked and not allowed to respond to comments on our own posts. ---- Why Forward is so afraid of you reading honest feedback is what you should wonder. This review was flagged and removed because I wasn't given an opportunity to physically visit the building, which somehow invalidates the rest of my paid experience with this company? Short & Long version below because your healthcare matters, but I understand attention spans. Short: They have very little to offer by way of service or care and are incredibly over promising on what they then underdeliver. Not enough doctors, very few people available to get on a call and a lack of ability to help via chat. Plus, the main draws (genetics testing and pulmonary/cardiac testing aren't allowed or scheduled until months after your baseline visit, which in itself takes weeks (if not months) to get scheduled due to unavailability of doctors. Long: I wouldn't mind the expense if it were a valuable solution, but with the above in mind it's hard to justify when One Medical costs only $200 per YEAR, has offices across the country and I have immediate access to doctors and customer service 24/7. I even have access to an office visit at 9pm with them if need be. The Forward platform keeps defaulting to San Francisco, both in app and on site. This completely incapacitated any ability on my end to schedule an appointment or research LA doctors. In app the "help" button opens an email and online the chat function gives me a person, but they have no answers, just apologize for not actually being able to help. The app itself is pretty, but does me no good of I can't schedule an appointment, make adjustments or connect with someone. I finally got someone on the phone a day later, but they weren't able to adjust my location either - and the earliest they could schedule me for an appointment was nearly a month away, but even that was only if I went with a doctor chosen for me without my ability to choose. The people I spoke with were kind and seemed to understand their limitations, but when she tried to discredit One Medical (which I intended to keep on top of this because they're great primary care and I wanted Forward specifically for the advanced screenings I later learned weren't as available as they advertise) I got pretty frustrated. It's a lie that Forward provides prescriptions - they provide *some* prescriptions (all generic) and one with your Baseline visit. That's it. She tried to say I would still owe co-pays with One Medical, which has not been true for me. In which case she then said I must have good insurance. Obviously - this is a luxury for which I'm incredibly grateful and so I don't care for a provider that's a redundant luxury to try and discredit another provider who's outperforming you. It's tasteless and unnecessary. I made the wrong choice going with Forward and asked to have my initial month refunded since it was such a poor experience and they have yet to do that, which means I'll also likely have to file a fraud charge to have it reversed. Considering I didn't sign up for a longer term commitment I count myself lucky. To me, this was a full on scam and I'm very disappointed because it seemed like such a wonderful possibility. read more

This company knows no limits. I got a call from a random gynecologist doctors office asking me to make an appointment. Turns out Forward fax them all MY INFO and my MEDICAL RECORDS without my knowledge or request! I neither needed that appointment nor did I ask them to make one! For some reason they informed that office of an issue I had a long time ago which is not even my concern at this point! This is unbelievable and unacceptable. This is the worst invasion of my privacy. I will be canceling this service as soon as the contract is over. read more

Exceptionally cool professional first experience . Nothing like this in health care . Forward hit all he marks it advertises - excellent almost instant full blood panel . Extended over one hour with doctor. History , explanation of blood panel results , define health risks (none in my case ) and goals . A must try read more

Such a shame. What started as a great idea that I was thrilled with has gone so downhill they should be ashamed of themselves. Clearly they expanded too quickly. I think that the company policy is "DO EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY CAN TO NOT ALLOW CLIENTS TO SEE A DOCTOR". Each "person" that answers a text doesn't read the previous conversation. You could be dying and spend hours answering texts with duplicate questions and ultimately will usually get a clearly impersonal response such as "rest and drink fluids". I have had chest pains and issues breathing for several weeks and it wasn't until I went nuts would they let me schedule an appointment with a doctor. They made so many mistakes, I was offered a month free in place of answering my specific questions. Even when I said the breathlessness was notable in my voice, I couldn't get a phone call or appointment. I was sent a standardized "take claratin." Then without a visit I was sent an inhaler that didn't help at all. If you ask for a refill of medication ,they tell you to add it to the app, say it is processing and when it all disappears and you reach out to them you are told that you need to see a doctor to get a refill but....YOU CAN'T SEE A DOCTOR because it is an impossible dream. Because i couldn't get an appointment, I made an appointment with a pulmonologist, they asked for the name to give a referral (when I asked for a referral of a pulmonologist they never got back to me). i told them I didn't need a referral but they then asked the doctors name to "get the records" and then gave a referral which screwed up the appointment I made and required a ton of phone calls. All they keep saying (texting?) about all the problems is "We apologize for any inconvenience and will escalate this" when I asked forward to scroll up and look how many times they apologized and said a situation was being elevated I was texted "We apologize for any inconvenience and will escalate this" and still didn't hear from anyone. If you value your health, i highly recommend you do not "Go Forward". The shame is the doctors are wonderful if you are ever able to see them. Dr. Nick was a dream before he went to San Francisco to work for the company. read more

I've been going to Forward since the beginning of the year and it works amazing a supplemental to my employer's insurance plan. There's quite a few pros from my previous primary care: -Insanely quick turnaround on lab tests -Ability to get screened at their in-house lab quarterly rather than every 6 months -Genetic screening -The overall clean & calm atmosphere, as well as the friendliness of the staff have made each visit worth looking forward to -Forward has provided me with vaccines for upcoming travel at no additional cost -Providing referrals to in-network specialists when needed (though I still needed to set up the appointment) -Access to my medical records -Clear descriptions of any medical questions I had, and mostly available at my fingertips through the app There have been a few minor cons like a mixup in my schedule, which was eventually cleared up (since your schedule is available through the app and your iphone calendar), and the pricetag certainly makes it a luxury expense, but so far it's been worth it and my only complaint is why my other health care experiences aren't all able to be as easy. read more

I want to really like forward, but as others have said it is a company built by marketers and the care is so layered that there is a lot lost in translation. Everything is so rote, it's not really personalized care at all, it's more like dealing with a bunch of automatons. I went for my baseline which was fine, but I have been waiting for a prescription for a hand exray for over a week and was shocked by the np's lack of knowledge of my chart when I went back for a shingles vaccination. I have allergies and sometimes have intense reactions to medicine, I told the NP giving me the shot that I had forgotten my epi-pen and asked if I could have a Benadryl in case I felt an allergic reaction coming on, on the way home. She looked at me in a surprised way and said "you have allergies" I said yes, we went over this in my intake are you not aware of my chart? Then she had to go back and talk to the doctor and then she came back and said something like " I talked to the doctor and you won't have a reaction to this, no one ever does", which is a ridiculous answer as I have ended up in the emergency room, after a steroid shot "that no one ever has a reaction to several more back and forth conversations ensued until they finally gave me a Benadryl as a precautionary measure. I could have gone to Gelson's next door and bought one quicker. Everything seems extremely automatic and spit out by a computer, so don't really expect personal care here but rather some simulacrum of it. read more

On time, clean, polite and professional staff. Lots of high tech gadgetry for basic stuff like taking temperature, oxygen level check, weight, BMI, blood pressure etc is more style and marketing features than actually any medical breakthrough... thought the infrared that shows veins before drawing blood is cool. The high resolution screen that also listens in and records / takes notes and also to show your results from blood drawn mins ago is also super cool. the doctor takes a full 45 min session to go over all the details regarding your health markers and goes through what needs to be done or not... Super efficient chat support and helpful tips on how to save on medication.. I gave it 1 star less because the doctor told me to order genetic testing from 23andme and choose the cheapest option. the staff told me that it is already included in my membership and I should have been given right there and then.. it has been over a week and I have neither received the testing kit nor any information regarding its status. read more
