Gentle, welcoming, bravo for the team) for their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. I tried the lasagna, which was good, though not the highlight for me this time. Overall, a very pleasant experience, especially for the ambience and hospitality. Looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

I've been here a few times - I will say about 5 years ago I loved it here. Recently I went back…read moretwice in the last 2 months and both times I've been disappointed. The service is slow and confusing, the food is underwhelming and I believe it is overpriced for the overall experience and quality. First, with the service - we always wait a long time to be served and when we do there are always drinks or requests missing. Today we asked for 4 waters in addition to our drinks and we had to ask twice more throughout the meal for the additional 2 waters to be brought. We were served our food with no cutlery or napkins and when I asked for it they sent over a manager more than 5min later as our food got cold. Regarding the food- it's definitely Instagram worthy for the most part but the flavor is underwhelming. I ordered the Croque Madame and it came missing the bechamel sauce, when I asked the server where it was/ if I could have more he insisted multiple times that that was not part of the dish... the bechamel sauce is what makes it a croque Madame. The flavor of the pancakes was grainy and dry, and despite ordering a decaf cappuccino my cappuccino was definitely not decaf. At the end of the meal both times we've been recently been, they show us the total on the screen but not the break down of the meal and try to scam you into adding additional tip without disclosing that there is already a service charge included. I'm not against tipping on top of the service charge if the experience is good! But in this case it was not warranted. While the concept is cute and they tried with the decor and vibe it's just missing the mark for me. I will not be returning.

In the pictures there are both and it was 9$ for basically canned soup. Tasted awful. Ordered spinach croquettes. They were tiny but delicious, well prepared and worth it. Ordered Moro rice-inedible. Dry. Dry. Dry. And the only flavor was salt. Not sure why they would send the last bit of rice from the pot that sat out all day, but that is what I got. Ordered vegetables-the picture is broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in garlic sauce. I got a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, onions and some cucumbers. That pissed me off since it was not at all what I ordered. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, because the review here are pretty positive. Tried to call the restaurant to see why they didn't include the actual vegetables and decided a salad was a good substitute. No answer. So I won't be eating from here again. Disappointed.

It's rare to find a spot that draws you back 24 hours later, but this place is a total standout in Miami. Despite having a larger group this time, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The service was excellent from start to finish--attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced for a family dinner. We kicked things off with the Cuban sampler, which was the perfect introduction to the menu and got everyone excited for the main event. Every dish that hit the table was a hit: the Red Snapper was incredibly fresh, and the Chicharron de Pollo had that perfect crunch. My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Milanesa, but for me, the Paella was the star of the show--rich, authentic, and packed with flavor. It's safe to say everything was delicious yet again. We've officially added this to our "must-visit" list for every trip to Miami. If you're looking for a meal that feels both high-quality and welcoming, you can't beat this spot. We'll definitely be back!

Needed to do errands in North Miami, so Little Havana came up as a place to go for Cubanos. It has…read morethree locations in Miami, with this one in North Miami being the original, opened in 1991. We dined in, and the visit blew away the food from the previous week. I really like Cuban sandwiches, so will be something my brother and I keep seeking out during short visits to Miami. We had a one-day rental car, so found Little Havana Restaurant, coming a bit after peak lunch time. It's on a major street, with surface angled parking in the back. There are a lot of wild birds in the area, with their guano being everywhere outside. It's a big dining area inside, and we were immediately directed to a prime location with views of their small lush adjacent green space, and the birds that live there. Elizabeth was our server, with water and complementary rolls being immediately offered by helpers. She and her team were great throughout, offering suggestions and bringing the food nice and hot. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu (11:30 - 18:00 M-F) and the Lunch Special Menu (11:30 - 16:00). We were greatly satisfied with every dish Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, appetizer size ($14.99) - 5 jumbo tail-on shrimp, sauteed in a scampi type sauce. It's what you expect when you douse good shrimp with a butter garlic sauce. The appetizer does not come with rice/beans, but we had plenty of it from the other dishes...loved spooning the sauce over the rice while eating. Roast Pork Lunch ($12.99) - what a deal. A dish of pulled pork with a big piece of fried pork skin on top...reminded me of the Filipino lechon, or even the Hawaiian kalua pork, with the tenderness of the mean. It came with a big scoop of rice and a bowl of red beans. Lamb Shank ($18.49) - This was recommended by Elizabeth when asked by my brother, what he shouldn't miss. It's a Cuban special, cooked in wine sauce. It was a big piece, still on the bone, coming with a big plate of rice and fried plantains. He enjoyed it, though he was struggling a bit at the end. Cuban Sandwich ($12.49) - A full size Cuban sandwich, cut in half. It had been grilled on a sandwich press with a little oil, resulting in the cuban bread being crispy at the top. It had the right mix of that same delicious pulled pork, along with ham, melted swiss, mustard and pickle slices. It was very good, great value for the price. Paying was done at the top, and we intentionally did not take any leftovers. There is a framed newspaper article from 1991 in the lobby, where you can read more about their origins.

The food is exceptionally prepared. Great sushi menu and entrees are always tasty and thoughtful. The most memorable thing of the entire experience is the service. It's impeccable. Bye Bye Houston's Aventura…read more I've been a customer of Houston's Aventura for many years. For a long time, my friends and I used to come here every Friday. Unfortunately, over time the service declined to the point where it felt like they were doing everything possible to make us uncomfortable and rush us out. Eventually, they succeeded -- we stopped coming altogether. After a long break, I decided to give the restaurant another chance today. That was a mistake. I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye, and when it arrived, the meat was extremely tough. I brought this to their attention, and the manager came over and apologized -- but that was it. No replacement dish was offered, and the item was not removed from the bill. An apology alone does not fix a bad dining experience, especially at this price point. This visit confirmed how far Houston's Aventura has fallen. I live in Aventura, and I constantly hear people talking about how poorly customers are being treated at this location. Based on our experiences, my family and I have decided we will not return. Final thoughts: Houston's Aventura is seriously damaging its reputation. The service and food quality no longer match what this restaurant used to be or what it charges. If you enjoy this style of restaurant, I highly recommend J. Alexander's instead. Equal or better quality, excellent service, and outstanding food -- including thin, crispy fries like Houston's used to have, great artichokes, ribeye, and baby back ribs. Truly excellent. Bye bye, Houston's.
