Kids lomein, don't be fooled by size it's disgusting . My 5 year old has not touched it

Sigh, can anyone help me locate a really tasty, yummy, delicious, authentic is a plus , Chinese takeout in Matthews/Charlotte? Fortune cookie is not it .... Everything here lately taste like it's been cooked in old grease , with no seasonings. I tried calling and talking to the guy who is always there since we are "regulars" but he says the cooks haven't changed in 10years or the owners . Also says there have no other complaints. I find this very hard to believe , obviously they don't check their reviews . You can tell when they just take premade lomein noodles , dip them in hot water and pour soy sauce on them . You can taste the food from other foods being dried in the grease over and over when you bite into a stale egg roll . You can squeeze the old grease out of under seasoned egg foo young left in the wok too long . You can chew the shrimp in the tasteless shrimp lomein like it's chewing gum. This are just a few of the things that's unappetizing about this chain. Again I'm open to suggestions for a far better experience to spend my money .

Pork Fried Rice with Boneless BBQ Ribs.

Best price AND food. Love it. Come here often. The picture is just as good as it looks.

This was 1 of 4 piece of beef teriyaki. The meat tasted weird (gamey), it was dry and tough like beef jerky... (GROSS!)

First time ordering food from here. The food did come hot and the delivery guy was very nice. But unfortunately the food was subpar at best. The beef with broccoli had hardly any flavor to it, the pork fried rice was "ok", I ordered fried dumplings that were soggy and the egg roll I think was twice cooked and the beef teriyaki was the biggest disappointment. The beef teriyaki was as dry and as tough as beef jerky and I'll add the picture of the minuscule skewers it came with for the $5.45 that I paid for it. Super disappointed and won't be ordering from them again...

Plentiful serving of Chinese and Vegetable for a great price. Good spring rolls and never have to wait in line upon entering.

It's a very family, fast paced quick service spot. But they hit the spot. The orange chicken was nice and crispy, came out piping hot. Had to give it a minute to cool. The broccoli was also done really well! Not mushy and still had a good crunch. May be a regular spot for a quick and comforting dinner.

Hot day. Costco run complete. Charlotte traffic testing everyone's patience. That meant one thing:…read morecomfort food stop at Taipei Express. It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.

It was our first visit and we wanted to try the curry. We ordered the Thai Red Curry and the Thai Green Curry. Both were perfection! The red curry had just the right amount of spice to give it flavor, but not be too spicy hot. The green was mild, but flavorful. The dumplings were so good. These were both very good and we added shrimp and chicken. I believe they would be just a satisfying with only the vegetables. This is my go to place for Asian noodle dishes from now on...can't wait to sample more of the menu on my next visit.

They genuinely did not taste like chicken at all, and I couldn't even finish them. I strongly recommend staying away from that item. I also tried to order a bubble tea without ice and was told I'd be charged an extra $2 because they would need to "add more juice." I didn't ask for extra juice, just no ice!!! And charging extra for that feels unreasonable and borderline price gouging. Ridiculous!!!! Between the poor food quality and the frustrating service, the overall experience wasn't great, and I won't be returning.
