Crowley consumers beware Over the weekend I attempted to…read morepurchase Bobcat attachment from Anthony Armendariz a presentive of Lonestar tile and granite company in Crowley. I drove up from San Antonio to purchase the item and met him at his family's Lonestar Tile and Granite business location on FM-1187 shook hands with everyone and paid the agreed price to directly Anthony Armendariz in cash. There were other people there his uncle, his girlfriend who I had been communicating with and other workers. When I arrived, it was already dark and the item was already hanging from a forklift ready to load. It was late and I was in a hurry to get on the road back to San Antonio, so I quickly loaded the item and left and no point in our communication did anyone ever mention the item missing parts or being not functional. 5 minutes down the road I stopped at QT to fuel up and to check my straps as the items was big and heavy. While checking my straps I noticed the item was missing the main hydraulic control component. I immediately call Anthony Armendariz girl friend who is the persons I had been communication with, and she said that they were not aware that anything was wrong with or missing from the item and said they would be happy to return my money. She also said that there was some parts that possibly went to the piece of equipment at the business and I could go back and look at them. At this point I was pretty sure it was just an honest oversite, and the part would be found at the business, and I would be happy to take it with me and sort it out when I got home but not luck. The missing very important and very expensive part was not able to be found I then communicated this to Anthony Armendariz and his girl friend and they then stopped communicating with me at all. I decided that my best course of action was to unload the item and leave it there and with the hope that these people would do the right thing and return my money. Unfortunately I had to much faith in the honestly of the company and this family and they will not return my calls or messages. I am posting this because this is a family business and if this is how they operate it should be known to community. I am still hopeful that they will do the right thing but we will see and I will up date this if the situation changes.

I was expecting to go back for another scoop but it wasn't necessary. I got just the right amount I needed. So what are you waiting for? Save some money so you can take out yo honey! Thanks Rock! PS: Unless you like wasting money, stop buying that trash munch at big box stores. Especially the ones with dyes. Also, from what I understand, they attract bugs not repel them (you can fact check me on that). They don't last and they only fade. They only look good for the first month. Today I needed to…read moresee about samples for the 1/4" Pumice stone, Lava rock, or even expanded Shale, tho they don't carry any of that, especially not in that small of a size. I can't recall his name, but I usually talk to the same guy and he's always so friendly. All of the construction makes this a horrible journey to get to, once onsite, be prepared for a lot of dust getting stirred up. The road base is gravel and very dusty. They do have tons of rock, stone, brick, and other hard and soft scraping materials, for personal or commercial bulk. They also deliver.

Staff clearly does not receive customer service training or direction on how to communicate clearly and set expectations for pricing, delivery, extra costs ($25 for the bags the rocks come in). I had a large landscaping order 3 tons+ of rocks but guess that is of no value to this company. Perhaps they're only interested in commercial business? Either way, the owner and managers should consider customer experience and how easily it would be to fix frustration and bad reviews by following their own quote " am owner of Big Tex Stone(Mike Hillman). I started this company to meet the needs of homeowners and landscape professionals. This is not just a job for my team and I but a passion. We truly love to make house beautiful." If this is passion I recommend focusing it on customer service. Post a pricing menu clearly with details like cost of product, packaging like the bag, delivery (by mileage), and provide written quotes. Staff appropriately and train your team how to handle the front desk and phones. The person I worked with watched me write down all his quotes and never offered to write it up himself. Then when I called to place the order a surly young woman answered who proceeded to give four different prices for the same amount moving from my original quote of $650 to $768, no wait $781, no wait $801.. it was ridiculous. When I asked to speak with the guy who first helped me he said he watched me write down the numbers but they were wrong. Wow - way to lie to and dismiss the customer while dodging responsibility completely. Big Tex -Your literally selling dirt and rocks and frankly, at comparable costs to other businesses. This isn't rocket science - simple math was beyond them and instead of solving the issue escalated it by being rude, dismissive, and careless. I was happy to give my business to Whiz Q Stone and would avoid this place at all costs.
