Do not hire this company. I was driving into my complex in South Jordan San Tropez apartment complex and the tow truck in front of me stopped in front of my garage so I couldn't pull in. So I gave a little honk and pointed to my driveway. The man proceeded to get out and confronted me in my vehicle and asked what my problem was. I explained to him that he was blocking my driveway and if he could please move forward and that's when he asked me if I could have gotten out and walked up to him and I told him I'm in a medical boot I have a broken foot he then proceeded to cus me out and flipped me off. The owner, Scott Mitchell, followed me into a parking lot after I was forced to pass him on the right and honked at him. He parked behind me in the parking lot and confronted me about honking at him. I explained that he was in violation of Utah's left lane travel law, Utah Code Ann. 41-6a-704. Subsection (3) of that law states: "On a highway having more than one lane in the same direction, the operator of a vehicle traveling in the left general purpose lane: (a) shall, upon being overtaken by another vehicle in the same lane, yield to the overtaking vehicle by moving safely to a lane to the right; and (b) may not impede the movement or free flow of traffic in the left general purpose lane." Pursuant to the law, Mr. Mitchell had a legal obligation to yield to me as I was overtaking him from behind and move safely to the right. Instead, he remained in the left lane, going the speed limit. Mr. Mitchell attempted to defend his actions by saying that he was going the speed limit. However, the law clearly states that the operator of a motor vehicle may not impede the movement or free flow of traffic in the left general purpose lane. Mr. Mitchell then insisted that he had done nothing wrong because the incident occurred on a city street and not a highway. His shocking ignorance prompted me to look up the definition of "highway" as it is used in the Utah Traffic Code. Under Utah Code Ann. 41-6a-102(32), "Highway" means the entire width between property lines of every way or place of any nature when any part of it is open to the use of the public as a matter of right for vehicular travel. This means that virtually any road open to public for driving is a "highway," as used in 41-6a-704(3). Mr. Mitchell could not understand this. Fort Union Towing is owned by an ignorant person who will follow you to your destination and confront him when you correctly honk at him for violating the law. Best tow company I have ever used, I have a few vehicles so have always used them and always had great service. They are professional, meticulous make sure your vehicle is secured properly, show you what they're doing. Then today was above and beyond 6 or 7 pictures showing that the vehicle had arrived safely. This afternoon, I watched a driver for Fort Union Towing tailgate a small car, then drive 50 mph down 7000th south toward jordan landing where the speed limit is 35. Scott with Fort Union towing is the kindest person. I was at the auto shop picking up a part for a really old trailer I had just purchased, and had no idea what I was doing (wiring). He might have heard me asking questions to the store manager and saw I was clueless. When we both left, he walked over and offered to help. He checked my tires, wiring, showed me a few important things and took time to make sure I would be safe on the road. In fact, the trailer is so old, he might have saved my life by checking those few things! I just want to say that he's a stellar person and most people these days wouldn't take time to offer help like that. He was in fact super busy, and it was late. He had to leave early in the morning for a 4 hour drive and still took time from his schedule to offer his help! I will DEFINITELY be recommending his towing services to anyone and everyone! This is a horribly run business and if I could give it a zero I would. Yesterday my wheel ending up falling off due to the lug nuts coming loose in my neighborhood while I was on my way to the tire store. Called this towing company to come save me. Owner told me a truck will be there in 30 minutes but the truck showed up 20 minutes late. Therefore I had to sit in my car in 90 degree weather for over 50 minutes. This unfortunately isn't the bad part. When the tow truck does show up he takes the wheel off of my car and hooks the machine up to my bumper. When he starts to pull up my car onto the back the bumper starts to bend and drag along the ground/the bed of the truck. When I tell this to the driver he just looks at me then let's the car back down. Unfortunately I could the bumper was being completely torn off the car. The driver ended up calling the owner and told him he scratched the bumper. This was totally untrue due to him bending the bumper not scratching it. Because of the bumper I end up having him take the car to a body shop. When I tell him what body shop the driver says "well I have to do something first then I'll take it over." I had my daughter that was waiting with me drive me over to the body shop. On the way to the body shop I called the owner of the company telling him what had happened. The owner then says "we'll damage is bound to happen when there isn't a wheel on it." At this point I was flabbergasted that the owner himself didn't want to take responsibility for the damage his employee did to my car. The owner said he would come down to the body shop to take a look at it since I was obviously not happy with his comment. My daughter and I ended up waiting at the body shop for both the driver and owner to show up. When the owner got there the driver told him what happened and how he had to get the car on the back of the truck. The owner the proceeds to tell me that the driver did everything correctly and that there's bound to be damage when there's no tire. I then told the owner that I was not informed of this whatsoever before the driver started to tow my car. I told him if I had know that then I would have tried something else. The owner then says "what else could you have done." I said "I could jack the car up and put the tire back on" The owner then says "the threads are completely stripped there's no way that could have been done" At this point I was completely frustrated that this grown man was arguing with me over the fact that his driver damaged my car, didn't want to take any responsibility, and told me it was bound to happen even though I was not informed of this at all beforehand. I told the guy "Look it's a 10 year old car that has never been damaged like this and has never been in an accident." to which he replies "this car has very obviously been painted over and I can tell." I am beyond words at this point because I take very good care of my car and it has never been painted over. The disrespect at this point is beyond words to myself and my daughter. She had to physically walk away due to the attitude that this OWNER was giving us. He told me the tow was free but he would not pay for the damages at all. I am so incredibly disgusted in this business and the way the owner handled himself. He was not apologetic at all and took no responsibility. Please don't ever call this company unless you want you property damaged and to have to pay for it yourself. Also the body shop said The bumper was destroyed by the driver trying to drag my car onto the back and then setting it back down. They also were able to put the tire back on perfectly fine. One of the threads was stripped but the other 4 were perfectly fine. read more

Called Fort Union Towing after another tow company called back to reschedule our tow for the following morning. He quoted me 60.00 less than all the other compaines. He arrived quickly to the dealership and brought our car home. We will be needing another tow (need to save up for expensive repair) and we plan to call them again. We highly recommend. read more
