My dad recommended Terry's a long time ago and I've been there many times to fix things and have always been great. One of my best experiences was taking a project build to him me and friend could not get the thing running smoothly after first getting it cranked, took to Terry's and it was a simple thing that they figured out in 5 min and didn't even charge me for it. Can be pricier than some others, but I trust them more. Only real issue is it's small shop so can't always get to a real repair (not a diagnosis or quick fix) right away. read more

My battery died and Kyle came out within an hour on a Sunday morning. He was able to jump start the battery and I mentioned I would just head over to Auto Zone since the mechanics were closed. Kyle called me a little while later and asked if I had made it to Auto Zone safely and if I was able to get my battery replaced. I was extremely impressed by the nice gesture. Fantastic service! 10 mins to close (on a Friday no less) we had our air compressor go out on 90th. We pulled into Terry's and were helped right away. Terry's Towing has been my go-to shop for annual Utah State vehicle inspections and checks. In fact, since I've owned my '96 Bronco, Terry's has been the only place for these annual checks. So when I decided to sell the truck I had one last problem to get repaired, and Terry's handled that for me in just a few days. They diagnosed the issue with the rear tailgate window lock cylinder and actuator to be a missing clip that holds the lock cylinder and actuator together. After fixing that and testing, I had it home for a very fair repair price. A day later, when lubricating all of the doors, hinges, key cylinders, etc, the tailgate window key cylinder stopped working again. I had the Bronco back down to Terry's shop the following Monday, and even though they were backed up, they had the Bronco back to me in three days. Once again, it was working as it should, and this time...no charge! Can't beat that! Again, a big thanks to Terry and his crew there for taking care of my Bronco all these years. And when I get my next project vehicle I'll bring that by for annual checks too! Keep up the great work. Five Stars for consistent service over these last 12 years! read more

I hit a guard rail and needed a tow, left it with them for two days to arrange getting it to my body shop. They charged me $500 for 15 mins getting it on and 15 mins getting it off the truck and to sit two nights in their lot. Give me a break! read more

They will illegally steal your vehicle off of private property and make up stories to over charge( let's call it what it is extort) money out of you to the point you can't afford to get your vehicle out. Make sure you know your consumer bill of rights that they will neglect to give you with out any attempt of reaching out that they took your vehicle and oops forget to let law enforcement know they some your car with out a reason but to make money off of you. The only thing bad is someone at the tow company stole the pewter dream catcher that had wire for the weaving - a snowflake shaped crystal in the center and clear and clear blue beads hanging from it with little metal feathers it was held in my rear view mirror by fishing line with a necklace clasp securing it. It was from my fiancé Andy that passed away a few years ago. It seems that someone at the tow truck company stole it as it was in the pictures I took at the scene of the accident- and it wasn't in any of the intake photos from the auto body shop the next day. I've called but even explaining how much it meant to me they just tell me nobody had it and to ask the body shop or detail business. I did contact those businesses and they have intake photos that don't show it. So someone at the tow company took it or either left my white Kia Soul unlocked for someone else to steal. The accident was in August 26th on 7200 South and I-15 going East. I am devastated that I lost an irreplaceable gift. My engine had a loud explosive noise and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I called Terry's because I was on the side of the freeway. Within 15 minutes they had called the police to come be behind my vehicle, arrived to tow me, and then proceeded to tow my vehicle and myself 30 miles to my mechanic. The driver was very professional and very personable. He quickly loaded my truck and we maintained a friendly conversation the whole way. Their pricing was very reasonable and most importantly very quick. I will continue to use Terry's in the future and I will recommend them when I know of others needing excellent service. read more

The owner and several employees came to my work on 10/17/16 and yelled and threatened me with bodily harm for the negative yelp review. ____________ 08/30/16 Follow-up... I had been experiencing some issues with his brakes and went to another shop to have them looked at, along with 90k mile services. The auto shop I took them to said that one of the rotors had been turned wrong, and that it had destroyed the rotor and ruined the brake. I took his car to another shop for a second opinion, and they confirmed the first shops diagnosis that the rotor had been turned incorrectly and been damaged, also damaging that brake. When I called Terrys to let them know, all he could do was rave about the bad yelp review I left. I stopped by in person to see if they could discuss the damaged rotor and brake, and see about compensation for me now having to purchase and install new rotors and brakes (both sides should have the same wear and tear). The owner just yelled at me, said they would never make a mistake like that, that he had never had a bad review before, and he had already told me to never come back. He then threw some money at me (~$100) and told me to have someone else fix the rotors and brakes. I called around for quotes to replace 2 rotors and 2 brakes and the average cost was ~$320. I went back to Terrys a third time to speak with the owner and let him know the $100 I was given previously would not cover the costs to repair the damage Terrys had done. The owner gave me another $220, rudely told me to leave, and to never come back to his shop again. ____________ I had my brakes done 12/11/2015. They looked over the brake pads and told me that there was still life in them and I could hold off on changing them for a little while longer. I decided to have them changed anyways. Everything was still going good. Later in the day I received a call from them that I was unable to answer. When I listened to the voicemail it was them letting me know that the car was done, but it was going to be $20 more because they forgot to quote an additional charge for turning the rotors. It was the attitude or tone that I got from the message that bothered me, not to mention that I had received the quote the day before and nothing was mentioned when I dropped the car off. So here is where it starts to go downhill. I went in to pick up the car and the lady at the counter was not quite rude, but seemed like I was bothering her by being there to pick up the car and pay for the services quoted. I told her which car was his and she shot back a total quickly. It was the same total as mentioned in the voicemail. I told her that I would like to talk to someone about that because that was more than what I was initially quoted. She said she was the person to talk to and referred to her voicemail having told me that she forgot to quote $20 for turning the rotors. This time she definitely had a rude tone. The quote she had previously given me consisted of $X for parts and $X for labor plus sales tax and a shop material fee. No mention that the rotors were to be extra. My response to that, was that every brake job that I had ever done or had done by a shop required that the drums/rotors (rotors in this case) be turned/resurfaced, and should have been included in labor anyways. You take the part off the car, clean it up, and put it back on the car. In hind sight I can see how that might aggravate someone that is already in a bad mood. She got up from her desk went around the corner and came back saying that they would not charge me the additional $20, but to never come back again. I asked if there was someone else to talk to, I wanted to maybe split the difference, it was only $20. Although the quote from Terrys was $50 more than other nearby big-chain-shops, I like to support small business when I can, and don't mind spending a bit extra to do so. She told me no, rang me up, and told me to not come back. I understand that mistakes happen, this review is really about her attitude and the attitude of the shop owner, and therefore the customer service at Terrys. The brakes seem to be working great (as of January, see recent follow-up below), there weren't any greasy hand prints in or on the car. read more

Whoever the lady is that works in the office here and answers the one and only phone number that's printed on their card has the worst customer service skills I've ever dealt with... I called to see what time they close, she asked where my vehicle was impounded at I told her and she told me 6! So today I show up at 5:09 and she says oh they're closed, I said why did you tell me 6 yesterday then she proceeded to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong when all I did was ask her to not charge me for another day of storage... she said and I quote "it is what it is, why would I do that for you" you hung up on me last time.....uh ya, cause you're customer service was just as bad the first time I called as it was the second time!!! Horrible business practice! Don't even get me started on the time last year when I had them tow my truck and my iPad mysteriously got lost that was hidden under the seat! Shame on you guys read more

Terry is the best!!! Called for tow and Terry came within 30mins. Asked him to tow to my mechanic as I was having problems with my car stalling. He said he had a unit to read check engine errors, he read the error and suggested that I may just need a new gas cap? The car would start and run but I was concerned about stalling out to the mechanic. He offered to follow me to the mechanic's incase I did stall, had no problems getting to the mechanics. He then offered to give me a ride back to my place. He did all of this at no charge!!! He was absolutely great!!! He will definitely be my go to guy if I ever need a tow again!!! read more
